<p>Apple on Monday informed that its employees will be expected to return to the office three days per week from next month, September 5, to be precise. Reportedly, Apple CEO Tim Cook sent out the mail, informing about the changes that the upper hierarchy was implementing in the coming days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Currently, Apple employees have been working from their offices, twice a week. However, with the new rules coming in, all employees in Bay Area will have to report to the office on Tuesday and Thursday compulsorily.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The third day will be picked or decided based on individual teams. Meanwhile, the option of working from home will be applicable for two days only.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Teams participating in the pilot will come to the office three days each week with Tuesday and Thursday as set days across the company, but now the third day you come in will be decided by your teams." said Cook in a memo sent to his employees.</p>

<p>"In terms of timing, many locations around the world are in different phases and you will hear more details shortly. For Santa Clara Valley, we plan to begin our new adjusted pilot with all employees in the office three days beginning the week of September 5th." added the Apple boss.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is pertinent to note that Apple attempted to implement its pilot programme a year ago. The employees were expected to return to the offices in May. However, the rise in Covid cases delayed the process.</p>

<p>Any item, document or carton bearing "Made in Taiwan" phrase can lead to shipments getting delayed or rejected by the Chinese customs authorities, and, in a worst-case scenario, a fine of 4,000 yuan ($592) may also be levied, Nikkei reported quoting sources.</p>

<p>Beijing considers Taiwan as a breakaway province that will eventually be reunited with the Chinese mainland. But Taiwan, which has a population of around 23 million, is a self-ruled island that sees itself as distinct from the mainland.</p>

<p>While speaking to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) on the child safety group's latest podcast, Prof Farid said that Apple should be emboldened to revive its plans after an intervention from the technical leads of GCHQ and the National Cyber Security Centre as they are backing an extension of the technology on to individual phones. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Prof Farid is an expert in image analysis at the University of California, Berkeley. He is the inventor of PhotoDNA, which is an "image hashing" technique. It is generally used by companies across the web to remove illegal images after&nbsp;identifying them.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the latest podcast, Farid said, "The pushback was from a relatively small number of privacy groups. I contend that the vast majority of people would have said 'sure, this seems perfectly reasonable', but yet a relatively small but vocal group put a huge amount of pressure on Apple and I think Apple, somewhat cowardly, succumbed to that pressure."&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, "I think they should have stuck their ground and said: 'This is the right thing to do and we are going to do it.' And I am a strong advocate of not just Apple doing this, but Snap doing this, and Google doing this – all the online services doing this."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Apple announced that its June quarter revenue stood at a record $83 billion, up two per cent YoY. Apple is expected to pay a dividend of $0.3 per share to its shareholders.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apple CEO Tim Cook was quoted as saying after the release of quarterly results, “This quarter’s record results speak of Apple’s constant efforts to innovate, to advance new possibilities, and to enrich the lives of our customers."</p>

<p>Apple had good news coming from India as the company doubled its revenue in the June quarter. Along with iPhone, it was the iPad that was doing surprisingly well in the Asian country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The lock screen is the first major change. Users may now add whatever function they want to see immediately on their screen, such as weather, fitness, clocks, and so on. This makes it extremely simple for consumers to access essential apps. Apple has added the feature to switch between lock screens, which was previously only available on its Apple Watch. We can also change colours and fonts!</p>

<p><strong>Wallpapers:</strong></p>

<p>People used to depend on third-party wallpapers since Apple's wallpapers were so dull, but Apple decided to change that this time. We now have a wide variety of new wallpapers, so much so that our favourite emoticons can now be wallpapered as well. To match the home screen and home screen backgrounds, we now have the option to adjust the background colour or simply blur it.</p>

<p><strong>Notifications:</strong></p>

<p>The notification panel has a new style that notifies users by springing notification bars from the bottom. With this one, Apple went for a really clean, yet sophisticated design. On iOS 16, we have new live notifications, so if you want Safari to keep you updated on match results all the time, you can do so without having to check the app frequently.</p>

<p><strong>Messages:</strong></p>

<p>In iOS 16, you may now edit messages, undo, send messages (Apple refers to this as "Undo Send"), and flag conversations as unread. A few minutes were allotted for dictation. It's now significantly improved and entirely on-device (no data connection is required). With the keyboard, you can seamlessly move from dictating to typing. Emoji identification is automated, auto-punctuation is included, and Siri is fully supported.</p>

<p>There are many more new features introduced by Apple, but these were by far the most highlighted. A Beta (testser) version for testers has been released and will soon be available for the public. The software will be released for public use in September in the USA and India.</p>

<p>Before the watch users get panicked, Apple has already rolled out a new OS update for the watch. The watchOS 8.7 update has security updates and patches, as advised by CERT-IN.</p>

<p>Thus, all users need to do is update their device by installing the latest software. To do so, the user needs to be connected to a wi-fi network and make sure that the device has at least 50 per cent battery.</p>

<p>On the watch, one needs to open settings and tap on software update in the General section. If the update is available, it will start downloading and the user can follow the instructions from there.&nbsp;</p>

<p>'Pegasus' a snooping software by the NSO Group is one such spyware that can carry out such attacks. The maker has been sued by Apple and has been placed on a trade blacklist by US officials.</p>

<p>"We did it, Towson! We won our union vote! Thanks to all who worked so hard and all who supported us! Now we celebrate... Tomorrow we keep organizing," AppleCORE tweeted.</p>

<p>They are demanding a say in deciding on wages, hours and safety measures.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Saturday's result means that the shop's employees, who have been voting since Wednesday, should form their own branch of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union, once the agency has certified the results.&nbsp;</p>

<p>IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr said he applauded the workers' "courage."</p>

<p>"They made a huge sacrifice for thousands of Apple employees across the nation who had all eyes on this election. I ask Apple CEO Tim Cook to respect the election results and fast-track a first contract for the dedicated IAM CORE Apple employees in Towson," he said in a statement.</p>

<p>"This victory shows the growing demand for unions at Apple stores and different industries across our nation."<br />
It was not the first time employees at an Apple store have tried to unionize, but it was the first attempt that resulted in a vote.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apple's director of distribution and human resources, Deirdre O'Brien, visited the shop in May to address employees, and said, "I want to start out by saying it's your right to join a union, but it's equally your right not to join a union.”</p>

<p>"If you’re faced with that decision, I want to encourage you to consult a wide range of people and sources to understand what it could be like to work at Apple under a collective bargaining agreement," &nbsp;he added.</p>

<p>She said that the presence of an intermediary would complicate relations between Apple and its employees.&nbsp;<br />
Unions, on the decline for decades, have won several symbolic victories in the United States in recent months, with President Joe Biden voicing his support. &nbsp;</p>

<p>At Amazon, employees at a New York warehouse surprised everyone in early April by voting overwhelmingly to form a union, a first for the online retail colossus in the United States.</p>

<p>But the company has asked for the result to be cancelled and a second vote to be held.&nbsp;</p>
