Dhanush posted an audio clip on Instagram, in which he delivers a stern warning to Hollywood star Ryan Gosling's CIA mercenary Court Gentry, aka Sierra Six.</p>

<p>"Six, This is Lone Wolf. I hear we are both looking for the same man. I want to offer you some advice. Stop looking. You are wasting your time. Because if I find him first, there will be nothing for you to look for. And if you find him first, then I will find you. Nothing personal," he said in the clip.</p>

<p>Ana de Armas’ who is essaying the role of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik and Netflix’s upcoming drama ‘Blonde’, has been caught up in controversy for her Cuban accent and her casting as the late star. Several viewers expressed their outrage over Armas' casting because her accent did not entirely match Monroe's iconic breathy tone. Now, the official estate of Marilyn Monroe has come out to defend Armas. Though ‘Blonde’ is not authorised by Monroe’s estate, the group stands by de Armas’ casting nonetheless, reported Variety.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“Marilyn Monroe is a singular Hollywood and pop culture icon that transcends generations and history,” said Marc Rosen, president of entertainment at Authentic Brands Group (ABG), which owns the Marilyn Monroe Estate.</p>

<p>“Any actor that steps into that role knows they have big shoes to fill. Based on the trailer alone, it looks like Ana was a great casting choice as she captures Marilyn’s glamour, humanity and vulnerability. We can’t wait to see the film in its entirety!” he added.</p>

<p>Most of the complaints about de Armas’ casting noted that she maintained her Cuban accent, which is not how Monroe sounded. It is to be noted that, ‘Blonde’ is not a biopic of Monroe but a fictionalised portrait and that the film was not completed with the cooperation of Monroe’s estate.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After a decade’s attempt, director Dominik selected Armas for the lead part in ‘Blonde’. The movie, which has been in development since 2010, reportedly had Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts attached to its name, and in 2019, de Armas was selected.<br />

Dominik previously revealed that after just one audition, he was certain that Cuban actress de Armas would be “the one” to play Monroe. Later, De Armas admitted to Vanity Fair that the chance to portray the legendary actress was a challenge.&nbsp;</p>

Monroe is remembered&nbsp;as one of the most iconic female stars from the Golden Age of Hollywood and a sex symbol. Written and directed by Andrew Dominik and based on the eponymous novel by Joyce Carol Oates, the film charts her meteoric rise and mental illness issues that culminated in her death by suicide. The story tries to probe into who Monroe really was beneath the alluring smiles she pasted for the benefit of cameras.&nbsp;</p>

If you are worried I spoiled anything, the story has nothing much to spoil. The entire movie moves along a straight path with no deviations, twists, and surprises. For those watching this for Dhanush, yes he is there. For a while. He does get an action scene, but did they just hire an actor of his calibre just to make life more difficult for your hero for a while?</p>

This formula may have worked for years, but then the company received a huge wake-up call in April when it lost subscribers for the first time in a decade.</p>

<p>‘The Gray Man’ is why Netflix should think deeply about its strategy. It should be one of the cases in point when the execs tell the board of directors what they will not do in future. It is simply a bad film. Not even a cast like that can redeem it. It is not even that you could enjoy it like a mindless actioner.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I, for one, do not scoff in contempt when an action movie hero has a firefight with dozens of baddies with little cover and still come out unscathed — well, not unscathed always, maybe they have a few bullet holes in his body, but can still walk and even spit out one-liners. I know how this genre works. But even the action in ‘The Gray Man’, while sometimes impressive, is mostly distracting. The camerawork is strange, switching to drone perspective in a way that takes one out of what little immersion the film offers.</p>

<p>Ana De Armas is all set to play Hollywood legend, Marilyn Monroe, in a new biopic titled 'Blonde'. While the film's release date is yet to be announced by OTT platform Netflix, it is already creating a lot of buzz for its rating.&nbsp;<br />

The film has been given a rare NC-17 rating which is basically an adults-only rating by the Motion Pictures Association. 'Blonde' is, in fact, the first Netflix film to have got such a rating due to 'some sexual content'.&nbsp;<br />

A month back, the film's director Andrew Dominik while speaking to the media had predicted that the movie would get the NC-17 rating. While speaking to Screen Daily about the film, which is based on a novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Dominik said, "It’s a demanding movie. If the audience doesn’t like it, that’s the fucking audience's problem. It’s not running for public office. It’s an NC-17 movie about Marilyn Monroe, it’s kind of what you want, right? I want to go and see the NC-17 version of the Marilyn Monroe story."<br />

The film also includes a rape scene - which is also mentioned in Oates' novel. Also titled 'Blonde', Oates' novel is a fictionalised take on Marilyn Monroe's life.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If there's one guy who knows how to make an erotic thriller in Hollywood, it's Adrian Lyne.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The British director, 81, practically defined the genre in the 1980s and 1990s with films like "9 1/2 Weeks" and "Indecent Proposal" -- and above all "Fatal Attraction" which gave the world the term "bunny-boiler".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now Lyne is back after a 20-year break with another steamy tale of marital infidelity, "Deep Water", starring Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The pair briefly dated in real life, though hopefully with less grisly consequences than in the film, in which Armas's character drives her husband crazy with flagrant affairs. &nbsp;</p>

<p>"When I cast them, I did a test in my house in LA," Lyne told AFP in an interview over Zoom.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I didn't know a lot about Ana... but when I saw her work with Ben I could see straightaway that the chemistry was good. It's not about her or him, but them together."</p>

<p>- 'Complicated emotion' -</p>

<p>One thing that has changed since Lyne was last behind the camera is the presence of intimacy coordinators, who try to make sex scenes more comfortable for the actors.</p>

<p>"I was sort of appalled by the notion of it," admitted Lyne.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I don't like the implication that there's a lack of trust between the actors and the director. If you don't have that, you've got nothing. I've got to die for them, and they've got to die for me."</p>

<p>The toughest battle, however, was keeping the unsettling tone of the movie: "Often, studios' instinct is to iron out the bumps in a screenplay, but those are often the most interesting parts," Lyne said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I wanted to do a movie where there's a sort of complicity between them. This is not a happy, conventional marriage. There's a sense of unease."</p>

<p>- 'Incredibly destructive' -</p>

<p>At a time when Hollywood is seen as increasingly puritanical, was it hard for Lyne to get so sexual a story into production?&nbsp;</p>

<p>"People always want to isolate sex and talk about sex in movies, but it's part of everything we do," he said.</p>

<p>The real theme was jealousy, he said, "which is such a complicated emotion -- obviously it's incredibly destructive but there's also an erotic side".</p>

<p>Lyne has been married for almost 50 years, so should his wife be worried about his preoccupation with this theme (his last film was "Unfaithful" with Richard Gere)?</p>

<p>"She's sat right next to me so I have to be careful," he said with a laugh.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"I don't know why I do them endlessly. It sounds corny, but I like films where you can put yourselves in the shoes of the actor. I can appreciate 'Dune' or 'The Matrix' or whatever, but I much prefer smaller pictures about you and me."</p>

<p>Nor is there any particular reason why Lyne has been away for two decades -- it is just the reality of movie-making, where projects can take years to finance and sometimes collapse at the last minute.&nbsp;</p>

Conor Woulfe, 38, of Maryland, and Peter Michael Rosza, 44, of San Diego County, Calif., each paid $3.99 to rent the movie on Amazon Prime, and only discovered that Ana was not in the film after watching it, as per Variety.</p>

The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the center of it. We have all committed to the first movie, and that’s got to be great to get us to the second movie. These are master assassins, and Gosling’s characters gets burned by the CIA and Evans’ character has to hunt him down. We have a great working relationship with Netflix, and we go back almost 20 years with Scott Stuber. We formed AGBO to be an agnostic storytelling company, where we figure out the best platform. We think Netflix is the perfect place for this film.”</p>
