<p>On the first day, 'Raksha Bandhan'&nbsp;raised Rs 8.20 crore at the domestic box office, which dropped to Rs 6.40 crore on Friday. As per Zee Studios, the film raised Rs 6.51 crore on Saturday, taking its box office total to Rs 21.11 crore.</p>

<p>'Raksha Bandhan' is a story about Lala Kedarnath (Kumar) and his relationship with his four sisters. It focuses on his efforts to get his sisters married and tackles issues such as dowry and body shaming.</p>

<p>The movie features Bhumi Pednekar as Kumar's on-screen love interest, while Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna and Smrithi Srikanth play the role of his sisters.</p>

His lady love Sapna (Bhumi Pednekar) grunts, yells and threatens him on a daily basis frustrated at waiting in the wings while Lala gets his sisters married one by one.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from the eldest Geeta, the rest are constantly taunted by Lala and the society at large for being fat, dark and for not being feminine enough. The man has to not only find suitable boys for his sisters but also gather the dowry money for each of them. Seems like a herculean task for a man who sells savouries for a living. While time is ticking on his relationship with Sapna, how Lala manages to get his sisters married forms the rest of the story.</p>

For a greater part of the film, no one really asks the sisters what they want to do in life. All seem to be okay with the fact that their brother will pay a hefty amount to get them married off. Set in present times, it is rather bizarre to see these young women who are comfortable with their body type and skin and yet seem okay to the dowry system.&nbsp;<br />

Most characters cry at the drop of a hat. Akshay Kumar gets emotional in almost every other scene. When his sister's marriage is fixed, he wells up. When he is angry with his ancestors he screams, cries and throws stones at their photos. Not just him, his sisters, his girlfriend - all have the waterworks ready at the drop of a hat.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Certain characters are constantly shamed for their body type, and the colour of their skin and even when the characters turn a new leaf, they never apologise for being so obtuse with their criticism. It's 2022 and any joke on skin colour and body type should not be accepted irrespective of the greater intent of the film. Writers really need to think hard while writing such scripts and be more imaginative with lines and situations. The old tropes of making fun of a fat girl and her diet are done and dusted.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Second half of the film is impactful</strong><br />

While the first half is cringe-worthy with all the melodrama and impractical storyline, the film redeems itself to a great extent in the second half when the film finally gets its voice and does its messaging clearly. By then, as an audience, you are more immune to loud acting that's on display. Instead, you will find yourself cheering at some powerful lines on empowering the women instead of considering them as liabilities- lines that come very late in the film.<br />

None of the performances is great. Akshay Kumar, who is known for comic timing hams throughout the film. So do the rest of the cast. Bhumi Pednekar, an otherwise powerful performer, has limited screen time and her character is not well written. She barely gets any scope to emote. Newcomer Sadia Khatib, who plays the eldest sister Geeta, shows some spark in her limited role.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The seventh season of 'Koffee With Karan' has in fact got plenty of references to sex. From sex playlists to threesomes, celebrities have been candidly speaking about it on the show.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The seventh edition of the talk show is currently airing on Disney+ Hotstar and it has seen the who's who of Indian cinema such as Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vijay Deverakonda, who got their A-game on and spoke freely about their lives on Karan's famous sofa.<br />

Ranveer and Alia were the first to be a part of the maiden episode of the show, which first aired on the OTT platform on July 8. The '83' star spoke candidly about how he has a "different sex playlist".</p>

<p>Ranveer had said, "I have different sex playlists. For sensuous, passionate, loving sex. Then for raunchy, randy, dirty sex. Different sex playlists."</p>

<p>He then talked about having a "quickie in the vanity van". He shared, "There's a risk element involved but that's what makes it more exciting."</p>

<p>While Alia said "suhag raat" does not exist and it is "just a myth", Ranveer revealed he was not tired at all after the wedding and instead was "very on".</p>

<p>The second episode, which aired on July 14, featured Janhvi and Sara.&nbsp;</p>

<p>KJo had asked Janhvi about having sex with an ex, where the 'Dhadak' star replied, "No, can`t go backwards."</p>

<p>In the third episode, it was Karan who was seen talking about his sex life with Akshay Kumar and Samantha.</p>

<p>While having a conversation about their personal lives, Karan spoke to Samantha about his sex life and said, "My Love and Sex Life..It is very lonely, Sam. You and I are floating in the same boat", cryptically referring to her separation with south actor Naga Chaitanya.</p>

<p>The fourth episode featuring Vijay and Ananya was by far the most candid. Vijay, who`s now regarded as perhaps the country's sexiest single man, revealed to Karan that the most public place he has had sex in is "a boat". Appearing with 'Liger' co-star Ananya Panday in the fourth episode, Vijay clarified that the boat in question was in fact "like a small yacht".</p>

<p>Karan replied: "In the middle of the ocean? Nobody else or like... ?" Hearing the actor's reply, Karan remarked that it was sexy, even as Ananya said, "I don't do all these things."</p>

<p>Karan jumped on Ananya's statement and asked her if she hadn`t had sex in a public place, she said, "I haven't done it." Vijay also let out that he had had sex in cars. Karan then questioned, "But aren`t they uncomfortable? I haven`t done anything in a car." To which Vijay said, "Desperate times."</p>

<p>On the third episode of 'Koffee with Karan season 7', Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar and South Queen Samantha Prabhu appeared together to have a fun and candid conversation with filmmaker and host Karan Johar. While Akshay won the rapid-fire round, Samantha won the slam game. Amidst all the segments, both Akshay and Samantha spilled a lot of beans about their personal and professional lives.&nbsp;</p>

Akshay Kumar and Samantha Prabhu graced the couch in this episode and we must say it was the perfect collaboration of Bollywood and Tollywood! While Samantha made a lot of revelations on the show, Akshay did so too. <p>From discussing how he didn`t understand the term `nepotism` to admit that his wife`s humour is more evolved than his own, he covered it all on the show. When asked about certain film choices he made and how he ends up doing so much work, he was frank about his perspective and even went on to reveal that his film `Jaani Dushman` got him the money to buy his house.</p>

<p>He said, "You won`t believe it, today where I stay, I needed money to buy that place, and Jaani Dushman got me the money to buy my house".</p>

<p>Speaking about the film, he revealed when he came to Mumbai, he wanted to earn money and hence took up whatever film role came his way. He stated that his role in `Jaani Dushman` ended when the character died, but because he needed more money, he persuaded the director to bring his character back to life.</p>

<p>On the show, he even addressed trolls who call him "Canadian Kumar". During the episode when Karan asked Akshay if he gets trolled, the actor replied that he doesn`t go online much. He said, "At the most, they write about Canada. Which I don`t care." Karan then pointed out, "The trolls call you Canada Kumar." Akshay then replied, "Yeah Canada Kumar. Okay call me that."</p>

<p>Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar`s first look from his upcoming untitled film has been leaked. In the leaked picture, the `Khiladi` actor could be seen in the role of a Punjabi character as he stands in a mustard field, a grim look on his face.</p>

<p>Akshay had donned a striped light blue shirt along with a maroon-red turban on his head, which is typical of many Punjabis. The actor had sported a full-grown beard for his role as well, alongside a pair of glasses. The yet-to-be-announced film title, starring Akshay Kumar is produced by Pooja Entertainment.</p>

<p>According to official reports, the film will begin its shooting in London. Helmed by Tinu Suresh Desai, this Akshay Kumar-starrer revolves around the story of a rescue mission from a coal mine.</p>

<p>The intriguing look of Akshay is indeed quite intriguing, paving way for the curiosity to rise. Talking about Akshay Kumar, he has last seen in director Chandraprakesh Dwivedi`s historical drama `Samrat Prithviraj` opposite former Miss World Manushi Chillar.</p>

<p>It was produced by Yash Raj Productions and was released in theatres on June 3 this year. Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood starred in the film as well. Apart from that, he is also a part of the comedy-drama `Raksha Bandhan`.</p>

<p>Not just one or two but several B-towners reached London to attend the Grammys-award-winning singer Adele's Hyde Park concert. Everyone had the time of their life and photos and videos of the musical evening are proof of the same.</p>

The story is in place, and we are working on certain modalities. It’ll be made in the same way, retaining the innocence of the characters. We can’t take past achievements for granted. So, we have to be extra careful in terms of our content, story, screenplay, characters, mannerisms etc.”</p>

<p>When asked who will direct the film, he was coy. "We have shortlisted somebody. We are in talks. We’ll make the announcement soon,” he said.&nbsp;</p>
