Thoroughly impressed by his prowess, the New Jersey Advertising agency had wanted for him to join their HRD team to “assign work and manage other coders”, however, upon learning about his age, the company suggested that Deokate should complete his education.&nbsp;

They told the teenager to contact them for a job once he's done with his education. “We are impressed with your experience, professionalism and approach,” the firm told him, adding that "the team enjoyed your insights into our strategy."

A website called animeeditor.com was created by Vedant which allows users to upload videos from YouTube along with blogs, and chat boxes. It also served as&nbsp;a platform for watching videos.

Vedant's parents, however, have promised to buy him a new laptop so that he may replace his mother's outdated one that he is currently using, so all his efforts were not in vain.

Another projection, according to the report, is that the world’s population could grow to around 8.5 billion in 2030 and 9.7 billion in 2050, before reaching a peak of around 10.4 billion people during the 2080s. The population is expected to remain at that level until 2100.

In India, this population growth creates many problems and climate change makes it more aggravated. Shortage of resources is one of the most common problems. But the recently published National Family Health Survey - 5 shows that India's total fertility rate (TFR) is declining but some states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh (UP) are still lagging. UP, Bihar and Assam are the states with TFR above 2 and the total population of these states is 378 million.

Amid the rising population, Population control laws have been hotly debated in recent years in India. Some support the laws whereas some say it will be against reproductive freedom rights.

Some states in India can implement population control laws without getting outcomes like China. First things first, only those states should implement laws which have TFR above 2 and allow a maximum of two children, unlike China which implements laws for the whole country and allows only one child.

Second, another argument is that India will have fewer young people for its security forces. But India has almost 1.3 million active soldiers and it costs more than fifty per cent of its total defence budget (including pension). At the same time, many countries are downsizing and rationalising their defence personnel. According to the report of&nbsp;The Diplomat, The PLA’s size has been cut several times since then – by one million in 1985, 500,000 in 1997, 200,000 in 2003, and, most recently, an announced cut of 300,000 in 2015.

Population control laws will be timely when many Indian cities are overcrowded and have acute water shortages. By 2050, 60% of the population of the country will live in cities as India’s rate of urbanisation is dramatic. By the same year, Mumbai and Delhi will be the two most dense cities in the world.

On the other hand,&nbsp;NITI Aayog, a think tank for government policy making said in its report that&nbsp;India is undergoing the worst water crisis in its history and nearly 600 million people are facing high to extreme water stress. The report further mentions that India is placed at 120th&nbsp;amongst 122 countries in the water quality index, with nearly 70% of water being contaminated.

Explaining the reason behind India's debacles at the two World Cups in 2019 and 2021, Shastri said he always wanted an all-rounder in the top six who can contribute generously with the ball. However, a back injury to Hardik Pandya meant India lacked that all-rounder option in the playing XI.

“I have always wanted a guy who could bowl in top six. And with Hardik getting injured, it became a massive problem. And it cost India. It cost India a couple of World Cups. Because we didn’t have anyone who could bowl in the top six. So, that was a liability. We told the selectors, ‘look for someone’. But then, who is there?” Shastri said on FanCode.

President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday urged youths to stay connected to their roots and appealed to all to protect the environment for the coming generations, saying mother nature is in deep agony and the climate crisis can endanger the very future of this planet.

In his farewell address to the nation, Kovind emphasised that the country is getting equipped to make the 21st century "the century of India" and highlighted the importance of healthcare and education which along with economic reforms, he said, would enable citizens to pursue happiness by discovering their potential.

President-elect Droupadi Murmu will be sworn in as the country's 15th President on Monday.

In his last televised address to the nation, Kovind hailed India's democracy, saying it has created pathways to let each citizen take part in the shaping of our collective destiny.

The president said the nation is working with the objective of providing better housing, and access to drinking water and electricity for every family.

"This change has been made possible by the momentum of development and good governance which knows no discrimination," he said.

He said, "The pandemic has underlined the need to further improve the public healthcare infrastructure. I am glad that the government has accorded top priority to this task.

He said the National Education Policy will go a long way in making it possible for young Indians to connect with their heritage and also find their feet in the twenty-first century.

The president made a special mention of the threat to the environment and asked all citizens to take care of it for future generations.

"Mother Nature is in deep agony and the climate crisis can endanger the very future of this planet. We must take care of our environment, our land, air and water for the sake of our children.

"In our daily lives and routine choices, we must be more careful to protect our trees, rivers, seas and mountains as well as all other living beings. As the first citizen, if I have to give one advice to my fellow citizens, it has to be this," he added.

President Kovind also hailed the trinity of ideals of liberty, equality and fraternity, saying they must not be mistaken as abstractions beacause they "are lofty, noble and uplifting".

"Our history, not only of modern times but also from ancient times, reminds us that they are real; that they can be realised, and indeed have been realised in different eras.

"Our ancestors and founders of our modern nation exemplified the meaning of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity with hard work and an attitude of service. We only have to follow in their footsteps and keep walking," he said.

And what do such ideals mean for a common citizen today? Kovind asked.

"I believe the chief goal is to help them discover the joy of living. For that, first of all, their basic necessities must be taken care of," the president emphasised.

During his address, the president went down memory lane to highlight the inherent power of vibrant democratic institutions.

Kovind recalled his earlier days when the country had just achieved independence and said, "There was a fresh wave of energy to rebuild the country; there were new dreams. I too had a dream, that one day I would be able to participate in a meaningful way in this nation-building exercise".

"A young boy living in a mud house could not have any idea about the highest Constitutional office of the Republic. But it is a testament to the strength of India's democracy that it has created pathways to let each citizen take part in the shaping of our collective destiny.

"If that Ram Nath Kovind from village Paraunkh is addressing you today, it is solely thanks to the inherent power of our vibrant democratic institutions," he said.

Kovind said the formal map for the democratic path "we all have been navigating was drafted by the Constituent Assembly" and the Constitution they prepared, with invaluable contributions from each of them, has been our guiding beacon.

"Values enshrined in it have been part of the Indian ethos since time immemorial," the outgoing president said and quoted Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar's concluding remarks in the Constituent Assembly where he had pointed out the distinction between political and social democracy.

"What does social democracy mean? It means a way of life which recognises liberty, equality and fraternity as the principles of life.

"These principles of liberty, equality and fraternity are not to be treated as separate items in a trinity. They form a union of trinity in the sense that to divorce one from the other is to defeat the very purpose of democracy," Kovind quoted Ambedkar as having said.

President Kovind said in modern times, the glorious journey of the country commenced with the awakening of nationalist feelings during colonial rule and the launch of the freedom struggle.

"There were many uprisings across the country in the nineteenth century. The names of many of the heroes who brought hopes of new dawn have long been forgotten.

When Gandhiji returned to the motherland in 1915, the nationalist fervour was gaining momentum, Kovind said, mentioning Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, Jawaharlal Nehru and Syama Prasad Mookerjee among others.

"From Tilak and Gokhale to Bhagat Singh and Netaji, from Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee to Sarojini Naidu and Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay? nowhere in the history of humankind have so many great minds come together for a common cause," he said.

Expressing deep gratitude to all fellow citizens and elected representatives, Kovind said he has been inspired and energised by interactions with farmers and workers from small villages, teachers shaping young minds, artists enriching our legacy, scholars investigating various facets of our country and business people creating wealth for the nation.

He also mentioned doctors and nurses serving the people, scientists and engineers engaged in nation-building, judges and advocates contributing to the justice delivery system of the country and civil servants who run the administration smoothly

"'Our social workers actively connecting every social segment with development, preachers and masters of all sects who maintain the flow of spirituality in Indian society ? you all have continuously helped me discharge my duties," he said.

"In short, I received full cooperation, support and blessings from all sections of society. I will especially cherish the occasions when I had an opportunity to meet our brave jawans of the armed forces, para-military forces and the police. Their patriotic zeal is as amazing, as it is inspiring," the president said.

Referring to his interaction with the Indian diaspora during his visits abroad, Kovind said he found their love and concern for the homeland very touching.

"All these re-affirm the belief that the nation is after all composed of its citizens; and with each of you striving to make India better and better, the nation's great future is secure," he said.

Kovind said that among the most memorable moments of his life has been visiting his home during his term and touching the feet of his teachers at Kanpur to seek their blessings.

"This year, the prime minister also honoured my village Paraunkh with his visit. This connection with our roots has been the essence of India. I would request the younger generation to continue this tradition of staying connected with their village or town, their schools and teachers," the president said.

Asserting that he has discharged his responsibilities to the best of his ability and has been conscious of being a successor to great icons like Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr S Radhakrishnan and Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Kovind said, "Still, whenever I was in doubt, I turned to Gandhiji and his famous talisman".

"His advice of recalling the face of the poorest man and asking myself if the step I am about to take will be of any use to him. At the risk of repeating myself, I will urge you to contemplate Gandhiji's life and teachings at least for a few minutes every day," he said.

As per the ministry, the country reported 21,411 on the previous day. Officials said there have been 18,143 recoveries in the country in the past day. The ministry said that India has reportedly performed more than 870 million tests to date. The current active rate for cases lies at 0.35 per cent.&nbsp;India’s active caseload stands at 1,52,200 while the positivity rate is 5.29 and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.46 per cent, ANI reported.

According to the Union ministry, nearly 2.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine&nbsp;were given as part of the nationwide vaccination drive in the last 24 hours. As per the official data, nearly 70 million unused vaccine doses are available to the States and Union Territories.&nbsp; The Covid immunisation campaign began on January 16, 2021. Another phase of the vaccination programme began on June 21, 2021.

In a bizarre judgement, an Indian High Court has ruled that the removal of 'Mangalsutra' or 'thali' is "mental cruelty of highest order". Mangalsutra is a sacred thread worn around the neck by some Hindu women worn&nbsp;as a reflection of their marital status. The judgement in question came during the case of a man seeking a divorce. When granting the divorce to the aggrieved petitioner, a division bench of Justices V M Velumani and S Sounthar made the observation about Mangalsutra and the importance it holds in a Hindu marriage.&nbsp;In June 2016, C Sivakumar, a professor at a medical college in Erode, filed for divorce, however, a local court denied his request. Sivakumar had sought to have the decision overturned. Granting his request, the Madras High Court observed that removing the jewellery holds significance of its own.

The petitioners now ex-wife was examined during the proceedings and she admitted that while she and Sivakumar were separated she removed her thali and kept it in her bank locker.

Citing Section 7 of the Hindu Marriage Act, her attorney argued that thali is not required for marriage&nbsp;and that, even if their client removed it,&nbsp;the wife's removal of the thali would not have any effect on the marital bond.

However, as per a PTI report, the bench said that it is common knowledge that the tying of the thali is an important ceremony in marriage rituals, which take place "in this part of the world".

It cited orders of a division bench of the High Court, which stated that "It was a known fact that no Hindu married woman would remove the thali at any point of time during the lifetime of her husband."

"Thali around the neck of a woman was a sacred thing which symbolises the continuance of married life and it is removed only after the death of the husband. Therefore, its removal by the petitioner/wife can be said to be an act which reflected mental cruelty of the highest order as it could have caused agony and hurt the sentiments of the respondent," PTI quoted the bench as saying.

Since the judgement came to light, it has taken the Internet by storm and people have been quick to point out that being married and wearing a piece of jewellery have no real intrinsic connection. Some even compared it to tying a rope around a cow's neck.

In a bizarre judgement, an Indian High Court has ruled that the removal of 'Mangalsutra' or 'thali' is "mental cruelty of highest order". Mangalsutra is a sacred thread worn around the neck by some Hindu women worn as a reflection of their marital status. The judgement in question came during the case of a man seeking a divorce. When granting the divorce to the aggrieved petitioner, a division bench of Justices V M Velumani and S Sounthar made the observation about Mangalsutra and the importance it holds in a Hindu marriage. In June 2016, C Sivakumar, a professor at a medical college in Erode, filed for divorce, however, a local court denied his request. Sivakumar had sought to have the decision overturned. Granting his request, the Madras High Court observed that removing the jewellery holds significance of its own. Watch | WION Dispatch: Tackling teen mental health issues in schools The petitioners now ex-wife was examined during the proceedings and she admitted that while she and Sivakumar were separated she removed her thali and kept it in her bank locker. Citing Section 7 of the Hindu Marriage Act, her attorney argued that thali is not required for marriage and that, even if their client removed it, the wife's removal of the thali would not have any effect on the marital bond. Also read | US FDA approves new eye drops that can replace spectacles and fix near-vision However, as per a PTI report, the bench said that it is common knowledge that the tying of the thali is an important ceremony in marriage rituals, which take place "in this part of the world". It cited orders of a division bench of the High Court, which stated that "It was a known fact that no Hindu married woman would remove the thali at any point of time during the lifetime of her husband." The Lancet study reveals "Thali around the neck of a woman was a sacred thing which symbolises the continuance of married life and it is removed only after the death of the husband. Therefore, its removal by the petitioner/wife can be said to be an act which reflected mental cruelty of the highest order as it could have caused agony and hurt the sentiments of the respondent," PTI quoted the bench as saying. Since the judgement came to light, it has taken the Internet by storm and people have been quick to point out that being married and wearing a piece of jewellery have no real intrinsic connection.
