Former South African skipper AB de Villiers on Wednesday announced retirement from all form of cricket with immediate effect.
He announced the decision on his official Twitter handle.
The right-handed batsman said he is 'tired' and is the right time for him to hang his boots.
Minutes after the decision, his Twitter was flooded with people expressing their surprise over the news.
While some praised his way of playing cricket during crucial stages, some termed him an all time entertainer.
His IPL team Bangalore also raised a question over his sudden decision but wished him luck for his future endeavours.

The 34-year-old is one of the greatest players of South Africa, having played 114 Tests, 228 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and 78 T20 Internationals.
