2024 NBA Finals: 'We can't play together...,' Jaylen Brown on Jason Tatum after Celtics win record 18th title

Boston Celtics players Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown proved everybody wrong by winning the record 18th NBA title with 106-88 win against Dallas Mavericks in Game 5, taking the series 4-1.
“It's a surreal feeling. Still has not really kicked in yet,” Tatum said. “Just trying, I guess, to enjoy the moment. I kept saying, 'Wow.'
“These last seven years have been a roller coaster, up and down. I had to listen to all the s*** that people said about me, and tonight, it was worth it. Oh, my God,” he added.
Tatum's partner in win Brown was equally ecstatic and said: “We've been through a lot, the losses, the expectations.”
“The media have said all different types of things: We can't play together, we are never going to win. We heard it all. But we just blocked it out, and we just kept going. I trusted him. He trusted me. And we did it together,” Brown added.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla also credited his players for the dominating title win which saw them go past LA Lakers for most NBA titles in history.
“It really starts with them,” Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said. “You can't have a philosophy or a way of playing if you don't have a group of guys that are willing to buy into it and be disciplined. Quite honestly, this group of guys has been through so much in the league, they know what it takes.”
The game started with Boston scoring 28 points against Dallas' 18. The Celtics upped the ante in the second quarter as they dropped 39 points against the Mavs' 28.
Leading by 21 points at the half-time, Dallas tried to match Boston and managed to reduce their deficit by two points in third quarter. Come final 12 minutes, the score was 20-21 in Dallas' favour as Boston won the game and the title with a difference of 18 points.
