India to tour South Africa for four T20Is in November, BCCI and CSA confirmed

The Indian Cricket Team will travel to South Africa for a short T20I series starting November 8, the BCCI and Cricket South Africa confirmed in a joint statement on Friday (June 21). For the second year on the trot, the Indian Team will play a series in the Rainbow Nation, having participated in a three-format tour last year.

This short four-match T20I series is sandwiched between India’s home Test series against New Zealand and the upcoming Australia Tour, consisting of five matches. While the third Test against the Kiwis ends on November 5, the first of the five Tests Down Under begins on November 22 in Adelaide.

India will play the first T20I at the Kingsmead in Durban on November 8 before travelling to Gqeberha for the second game two days later on November 10. Both teams will fly to Centurion (November 13) and Johannesburg (November 15) for the remaining two matches.

"Any tour by the Indian cricket team to our shores is filled with amazing camaraderie and exciting cricket, and I know our fans will be eagerly awaiting this series which will showcase the exceptional talent from both teams," he further said.

The BCCI secretary Jay Shah also commented on the same, saying, "India and South Africa have always shared a deep and strong bond, one that both nations take great pride in. The Indian Cricket Team has consistently received immense appreciation and love from South African fans, and this sentiment is equally strong among Indian fans towards the South African side.

"I am confident that the upcoming series will once again highlight the on-field cricketing excellence and deliver enthralling, high-intensity contests,” Shah concluded.
