It led the police to suspect the killing was linked to a “black-magic ritual".&nbsp;According to a report in News 18, officials confirmed that the remains included a decapitated head and a left leg. Forensic teams also recovered chopped hair and braided strands at the site. Investigators believe the victim, thought to be between six and ten years old, may have been killed as part of a ritual sacrifice.&nbsp;A senior investigating officer added that the injuries indicated the body parts were separated using a sharp weapon, likely in one or two strikes. Blood traces on the recovered parts indicated that they were possibly placed deliberately on the ground as part of a ritual.&nbsp;The remains of the young girl were discovered by a farmer on Wednesday evening and who later alerted the cops. Investigators suspected that the murder took place three to four days before the recovery. In response to the incident, a murder case has been filed with the Gurgaon Police against unidentified suspects.&nbsp;According to a report by the HT, a senior police officer, who wished to remain unidentified, said, "The recovery of chopped braids and chopped hair of the severed head strongly indicates that the girl, estimated to be six to 10 years old, was probably murdered as a sacrifice during some black magic ritual.”<h3>The investigation is still underway</h3>The officer confirmed that there were traces of bloodstains on the severed parts, which were likely formed by pouring blood on them. “The body was severed with a very sharp weapon, and parts of it were disposed of in the green belt along the KMP by the killer after reaching the spot,” he added.&nbsp;Officers familiar with the investigation said Monday’s autopsy will shed more light on how the girl was killed, the type of weapon used, and the number of blows. Gurugram police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said teams are collecting both human and technical intelligence to identify the victim and track down the suspect.&nbsp;Officials added that nearby police stations and adjoining districts have been alerted to report any similar discoveries. The state rarely commemorates Indian soldiers, and public memorials acknowledging their role are limited. This silence reflects a selective national memory that emphasises indigenous struggle while overlooking the external military support that materially enabled liberation.ConclusionBangladesh’s liberation in 1971 cannot be understood solely through the lens of local resistance. It relied heavily on Indian military, logistical and strategic support. While the Mukti Bahini—numbering around 100,000 fighters trained in Indian camps—conducted important guerrilla operations, they could not alone have defeated Pakistan’s 93,000-strong military presence in East Pakistan. India’s Eastern Command facilitated arms supply, intelligence and training across six major camps in West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya, transforming dispersed groups into an integrated fighting force.Once India entered the war on December 3, joint operations produced Pakistan’s surrender in just 13 days—one of the shortest and most decisive campaigns in modern military history. At the political level, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic speech on 7 March 1971 called for mass mobilisation through non-cooperation. His sweeping mandate from the December 1970 elections provided the political legitimacy behind the independence movement. The Mukti Bahini’s actions, grounded in local initiative and resolve, gained momentum because they converged with this broader strategic direction. That alignment of popular energy with political leadership enabled the resistance to evolve from scattered actions into a movement capable of winning sovereignty. Indian Support and Training India’s support for the Mukti Bahini was decisive and wide-ranging. Around April–May 1971, the Indian Army’s Eastern Command launched a structured programme under “Operation Jackpot”, establishing six major training camps in West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya. By late 1971, an estimated 100,000 Mukti Bahini fighters had undergone 4–6 weeks of training in guerrilla warfare, demolition, small arms handling and intelligence gathering. Beyond training, India supplied weapons, sustained logistical help and sanctuary to the fighters and refugees—particularly in Assam, where protection and supply lines were actively supported by Indian authorities. This comprehensive assistance transformed a fragmented resistance into a coherent guerrilla force capable of striking Pakistani military targets with far greater precision and impact. Outbreak of the Indo-Pakistani War and Joint Operations A decisive shift occurred on December 3, 1971, when Pakistan launched pre-emptive air strikes on Indian airfields, triggering India’s formal entry into the conflict. The Indian Army—working in close coordination with the Mukti Bahini—immediately began a full-scale campaign against Pakistani forces in East Pakistan, supported by synchronised land, air and naval operations. These combined efforts rapidly overpowered Pakistani formations. Joint operations disrupted Pakistan’s hold over Dhaka and other critical regions, breaking both logistical networks and the morale of the occupying forces. By December 16, 1971, Lieutenant General A.A.K. Niazi surrendered unconditionally to Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora. The capture of 93,000 Pakistani troops—one of the largest surrenders since World War II—sealed the victory of the independence movement. Formation of the Bangladesh Army with Indian Help Plans for a sovereign Bangladeshi military force were already underway before formal independence. On November 21, 1971, the initial structure of the Bangladesh Army was established with extensive Indian assistance. Indian commanders helped organise units, set up command centres, supply arms and standardise training procedures for the emerging force. Mukti Bahini units were reorganised into battalions of the new Bangladesh Army, with Indian officers supervising training and transitions. This institutional support was vital in stabilising the security environment in post-war Bangladesh and in enabling guerrilla fighters to become part of a disciplined national military establishment. Neglected Tribute: The Indian Army’s Forgotten Sacrifice in Bangladesh Yet despite the scale of Indian involvement, the Indian Army’s sacrifice—approximately 2,998 killed in action and 12,189 total casualties—has remained insufficiently recognised in Bangladesh’s public narrative. The state rarely commemorates Indian soldiers, and public memorials acknowledging their role are limited. This silence reflects a selective national memory that emphasises indigenous struggle while overlooking the external military support that materially enabled liberation. Conclusion Bangladesh’s liberation in 1971 cannot be understood solely through the lens of local resistance. It relied heavily on Indian military, logistical and strategic support. While the Mukti Bahini—numbering around 100,000 fighters trained in Indian camps—conducted important guerrilla operations, they could not alone have defeated Pakistan’s 93,000-strong military presence in East Pakistan. India’s Eastern Command facilitated arms supply, intelligence and training across six major camps in West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya, transforming dispersed groups into an integrated fighting force. Once India entered the war on December 3, joint operations produced Pakistan’s surrender in just 13 days—one of the shortest and most decisive campaigns in modern military history. Without India’s intervention, the Mukti Bahini would have faced severe limits in sustaining operations or compelling Pakistan’s defeat. Code on Social Security fails to universalise mandates on social security; it creates ambiguity, even though it recognises the gig workers, but it does not include a detailed framework related to job security, minimum wage, and working conditions. The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code leaves out informal workers and migrant labourers, defining 'workers and employers' vaguely. The Unions allege that the union government has implemented the labour codes in the guise of ease of compliance. Despite repeated calls, the Union Government has not convened the Indian Labour Conference since 2015.&nbsp;

The Union Government of India has consolidated the 29 labour laws into four codes. The codes were introduced between 2019 and 2020, after being deferred several times; they were implemented on Friday. The labour rules, some of which had been there since colonial times, were perceived by the corporate India as slowing down its manufacturing sector. The Union Government of India calls these reforms historic, which streamlines compliance, modernises the archaic provisions and creates an efficient framework for ease of doing business. But the unions call it undemocratic and “are a blueprint to impose a condition of virtual slavery” for the working people of the country.

Harish highlighted the Navy’s “decisive action” in the March 2024 liberation of the hijacked bulk carrier MV Ruen from Somali pirates, the first successful anti-piracy boarding operation in years, and its rapid response after the tanker Marlin Luanda, crewed partly by Indians, was struck by a Houthi missile in the Gulf of Aden. Beijing wanted to "test and promote" its defence power &nbsp;"in the contexts of its ongoing border tensions with India and its expanding defence industry goals".&nbsp;The report by the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, published on Tuesday further said that it was for the first time that China's modern and indigenously built weapons systems, like the HQ-9 air defence system, PL-15 air-to-air missiles, and J-10 fighter aircraft were used in real war conditions.&nbsp;Post this, China offered to sell ballistic missile defence systems, 40 J-35 fifth-generation fighter jets and KJ-500 aircraft to Pakistan in June, according to the report.&nbsp;The report &nbsp;that is based on committee hearings and research of publicly available information like media reports, said that Chinese embassies were all praise for their defence systems used in the clash between India and Pakistan.
