Ram Mohan Naidu, an electrical engineerfrom the Purdue University, and a 2020 Sansad Ratna Award winner, was sworn in as a cabinet minister in thePrime Minister Narendra Modi government on Sunday (June 9)in New Delhi.
Ram Mohan Naidu, the 36-year-old leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by Chandrababu Naidu, is the Member of Parliament from the state of Andhra Pradesh. The TDP won 16 of the 25 parliamentary seats in the state.
In the 2024 general elections, Ram Mohan Naidu,who has served two terms as MP from the Srikakulam Lok Sabha constituency, defeated Tilak Perada of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) by a margin of 3.2 lakh votes to win the seat for a third consecutive term.

Born on December 18, 1987, Ram Mohan Naiduis the son of Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu, a former Union Minister and senior TDP leader who was also the youngest minister in then prime minister Deve Gowda's 1996 Cabinet.
Yerran Naidu, also called "Yerranna," joined the Union Front Government in 1996 and served in the cabinets of former prime ministers Deve Gowda and IK Gujral after becoming a minister at the age of 39.
