Three incidents of shooting have been reported in Delhi in the last 24 hours, leading to the killing of three people.

A woman was shot dead in her car in the capital's Shalimar Baghtoday morning, ANI reported.

The victim, her husband and their one-year-old child were in theircarwhen the incident occurred.

The reason for the murder is not yet clear, though there are claims that it followsa robbery incident that the woman had protested against.

Police have begun investigations.

In two separate incidents yesterday, two men were shot dead allegedly by unidentified bike-borne men in northeast Delhi's New Usmanpur and Shahdara's Krishna Nagaryesterday, police said, adding that the incidents took place in the last 24 hours.

In New Usmanpur, 23-year-old Rohit Pal was shot in the head and the stomach, the police said.

Rohit Pal was an accused in a couple of cases, including theft and extortion, police told PTI.

His father works with a power discom in Delhi and Rohit had left home to make preparations for a religious function, police added.

Police are scanning CCTV footage, Rohit's call details and questioning his friends to ascertain the cause of the killing, PTI reported.

In Krishna Nagar, a 41-year-old man was shot dead yesterday evening allegedly by unidentified bike-borne assailants, the police said.

Jafar, who dealt in scrap and also worked as a property dealer, was shot at outside his shop, they said, adding that he was rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.

Eight empty bullet shell casings were found from the spot where Jafar was shot at, police said. An investigation is underway.

The incidents come close of the heels of two similar killings yesterday in the northeast areas of the national capital.

A man, Wazid, was shot dead while his friend injured in Brahmpuri.

In another incident near Brahmpuri, a 22-year-old man, Aarif Khan, was shot at multiple times. He died on the spot.

Locals allege that Rohit Pal's killing was linked to yesterday's incidents and was a fall out of a gang war. Police has, however, dismissed the claims.
