Accused of Bhima Koregaon violence, Milind Ekbote has been sent to 14 days judicial custody by the sessions court in Pune on Wednesday.

On March 14, Ekbote was detained by Pune police reportedly from his house at Shivajinagar in Pune.

Ekbote was refused another anticipatory bail by the Supreme Court. He was granted anticipatory bail until March 14.

A couple of FIRs were registered against Ekbote alleging his role in the violence at Bhima-Koregaon.

In January Police arrested 54 people in connection with caste violence that erupted in Pune during a gathering to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Bhima Koregaon earlier this year.

Clashes broke out between villagers from Maharashtra's Koregaon Bhima, Pabal, and Shikrapur.

A youth was also killed during the violence.

After the violence, a day-long `Maharashtra bandh` was also called by various Dalit organizations on January 3.
