Former Bihar chief minister Jagannath Mishra passes away at 82

Bihar former chief minister Jagannath Mishra passed away in Delhi on Monday after a prolonged illness. He was 82.

Jagannath Mishra was elected for three-time as a chief minister of Bihar.


Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed his grief over the death of Jagannath Mishra.

"Jagannath Mishra was a famous leader and educationist. He made an invaluable contribution to the politics of Bihar and India. His death is an irreparable loss in the field of politics, society, and education," Nitish Kumar said in a statement.

A three-day state mourning has been declared in Bihar. 

The former chief minister will be cremated with state honours.
