Akshay Kumar retweeted and liked Bill Gates' tweet as well.
Kumar's film Toilet Ek Prem Katha also featured Bhumi Pednekar and dealt with a newlywed couple who separate after the wife discovers her husband's house does not have a toilet. To win her back, the husband has to convince his orthodox father the importance of having a proper toilet inside the house and the harmful effects of open defecation.
The film also promoted in its own way-PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign. The film was a Box Office hit and both Kumar and Pednekar were praised for their performances. The film was directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
