
TTV Dhinakarn has rejected the claims of the ruling AIADMK's calling his victory the resultof a "tacit understanding" between him and the DMK.
While addressing media persons in Chennai, Dhinakaran said that DMK appeared to have made "an arithmetic mistake" and was "overconfident".
The E Palaniswami-O.Panneerselvam AIADMK faction had claimed that TTV Dhinakarn had won the RK Nagar bypolldue to a "conspiracy" of Stalin and Dhinakaran.They added that it will not have any effect on their party.
Dhinakaransaid he might have received DMK votes as those voters may have also preferred him, "but a DMK worker will not vote for someone else even if their party leader asks them to do so,".
Dhinakaran won the RK Nagar bypoll by a thumping margin of over 40,000 votes.
DMK candidate N Maruthu Ganesh finished third, acquiring 24,651 votes while AIADMKs' E Madhusudanan came second.
