
A man threw red pepper powder at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inside the Delhi secretariat on Tuesday, officials said.
The powder was hidden in a cigarette packet while he was waiting in the visitor's area, reports said
The man, Anil Kumar, has been detained, the police said.
As per reports, Kumar, 40, is from Delhi'sNarayana.
The attack took place outside the chief minister's chamber on the third floor when he was leaving for lunch.
AAP condemned theattack on Kejriwal and called it politically motivated. However, despite the alarming video, the police said it was investigating if the incident was "unintentional", according to news agency ANI.
After throwing red pepper powder on Kejriwal, Kumar threatened to shoot him after he comes out of jail, an official recounted.
