Actress molestation case: Accused's wife says actress might have misunderstood

The wife of the man arrested on charges of molesting an actress on a Delhi-Mumbai Vistara flight defended her husband on Monday.

She said her husband wanted to sleep as he had not slept for 24 hours. He asked the crew not to disturb him. She added that he had put his foot on the armrest but not with the intention to harass the actress.

" My husband is innocent, had no intention to molest. There was a young death in family, which is where he went, hadn't slept for 24 hours. He asked crew to not to disturb and wanted to sleep. His foot was on armrest but not with intention to harass," ANI reported her as saying.

"There was no immediate reaction by her (the actress). I don't know why she levelled these allegations, maybe there was a misunderstanding. He is a family man and can never do such a thing," she added.

"We want justice," ANI reported her as saying.

The accused was arrested on Sunday, after the actress said he had molested her.

She said he had put his foot on her armrest.

When she complained, the man reportedly said he was sitting like that because of air turbulence.

Then, to her horror, the actress said, he proceeded to touch her back and neck with his foot.
