Zac Efron is on the road to recovery following a brief health scare while vacationing in Spain. The 36-year-old experienced, what his representative described as, a "minor swimming incident" at a villa in Ibiza on Friday (Aug2).
Efron was swiftly taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. After an overnight stay, the actor was released the following morning. "He is fine," his rep assured, adding that the visit was strictly a precaution. TMZ first reported the news.
The incident occurred during what has otherwise been a lively and enjoyable stay in Ibiza for Efron. Earlier in the week, he made a surprise appearance onstage with DJ Martin Garrix at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Hotel and Beach Club.
Fans of the "Animals" musician captured the fun moment on TikTok. The viral clips show Efron, best known for his roles in High School Musical and A Family Affair, dancing alongside Garrix.
Efron played the role of Kevin Von Erich in the 2023 film The Iron Claw. This year, he played the role of Dean in Ricky Stanicky and Chris Cole in A Family Affair.
In an interview with People in June, Efron and Kidman opened up about their new Netflix rom-com, A Family Affair. The movie, originally titled Motherf**ker, had its name changed before release, though the original title was a big draw for Efron.
"That made the script stay at the top of the pile," Efron revealed. "It's like, what on Earth could this be about?"
Efron and Kidman, who previously worked together on 2013's The Paperboy, both expressed enthusiasm for reuniting on this project. "I jumped. I think we both kind of did. We jumped at it. It was like, this is perfect. What better way to reconnect? And we get to have fun," Efron added.
