Pop singer and actress Selena Gomez recently opened up about the kind of friend circle she likes to have. In a new interview, the 31-year-old revealed that she likes to be friends with "level-headed" people and that girls can be mean.
Speaking to Time, Gomez shared, "It’s a cliché, but girls are mean. It’s a very weird competition, being in the cool girls area—and then I’m just kind of like, there. I don’t know where I’m meant to belong. I love having levelheaded people around that couldn’t give two f**ks about what I do."
She also shared that her closest friends are a real estate agent, a producer, and a casting director. Yes, she didn't mention Taylor Swift, in case you were guessing!
Gomez also shared that stardom can be hard sometimes. "It’s hard. You could be in a crowd of people and still feel alone. I still deal with that. You have to go through it. You can distract yourself and you can deny and deny all you want, but it’ll still be there. I just allow myself to have those days," said the "Calm Down" singer.
Without hesitation, Selena spoke about her beau Benny Blanco and called him a truthful and honest person. She also shared that she would have opted for adoption at 35 if she had not met the love of her life.
Selena Gomez attended Cannes Film Festival last month with the cast of her new film Emilia Perez, directed by Jacques Audiard.
The film's synopsis reads, "A woman is tasked with assisting an escaped Mexican cartel leader undergo gender-affirming surgery to both evade the authorities and affirm her gender."
Selena also currently plays the role of Mabel Mora inOnly Murders in the Building.
