Hollywood actress Meg Ryan will receive the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award at the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival. The actress will be felicitated for her contribution to the art of film.
In addition to this, Meg Ryan will also represent her latest film titled What Happens Later. It is a romantic comedy that she directed and wrote. She also stars in the film alongside David Duchovny.
What Happens Later will be Meg’s second directorial stint after the 2015 film Ithaca.
At Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema at the festival, Meg will also host a special screening of her 1998 classic love comedy You've Got Mail. This is the same location where the movie was shown 25 years ago at the 5th Sarajevo Film Festival in 1999. So it's extra special for the actress.

Meg will also hold a masterclass moderated by Bosnian director Danis Tanović, best known for his Oscar-winning film No Man’s Land. Those attending can look forward to getting insights into key aspects of her career in films.
Jovan Marjanović, director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, said: “Not only has [Ryan] charmed us all with her unforgettable performances, but she has also proven her prowess behind the camera as a director and screenwriter. It is our honour to present her with the Heart of Sarajevo.”
Meg Ryan’s filmography boasts of some great films like her role as the first military woman nominated for a Medal of Honor in Courage Under Fire, directed by Ed Zwick, and her moving portrayal of a woman with a drinking problem in Luis Mandoki’s When a Man Loves a Woman, opposite Andy Garcia.
