After secretly dating each other for seven long years, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal made things official on their wedding day i.e.June 23. Coming from two different religions, the Bollywood star couple opted to solemnise their union in a civil marriage inthe presence of their family and close ones.
Sonakshi and Zaheer arein their honeymoon phase and are enjoying every bit of it. Before their first month anniversary, the newly married couple spilt a lot of beans about their viral wedding, the gossip that dominated the headlines and from where their love story started.
Speaking to Bombay Times, Sinha also addressed the speculations about her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, not beinghappy with her decision tomarry the Double XL actor.
Talking about the same, she said, "Both mom and dad were very emotional. Dad just appears strong about it, but from within, he’s a softie. He was standing right next to me, and I knew that he was feeling very emotional, so I held on to him and told him, don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere."

She further added, "My mom broke down during the wedding when she realized that I was actually going to be moving out of the house. Now, we visit them very often, in fact, I speak to my mom a lot more now, at least twice a day."
Sonakshi and Zaheer's First Meeting
Both Sonakshi and Zaheer have been attending Salman Khan's parties since 2013. Still, they remained unknown to each other until June 23, 2017.
The couplefirst met each other at Khan’s Galaxy apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. However, they got to know each other more deeply on June 23, 2017, when they met again at the screening of the movie Tubelight and spent a significant amount of time together at the after-party later that night.
Zaheer, in an interview, said, “The first time we met was at Salman bhai’s (Salman Khan) house,” adding that while they both were attending Salman’s birthday parties at his farmhouse in Panvel and at his Bandra home,their “paths never crossed”.
“I didn’t know she was there, and she didn’t know that I existed!” Zaheer said before adding how the universe brought them together.
Talking about how things finally turned out, he said, “the first time we really spent a lot of time with each other was on June 23, 2017, at the after-party of Salman Khan’s Tubelight premiere.''
Since their wedding, the couple has been sharing adorable photos from their big dayand some snippets from their married life. Recently, Sonakshi shared photos of a picturesque sunset featuring her and Zaheer.
