Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has found himself in a bank fraud case as part of his property in his native village has been sealed over non-repayment of dues. The property is in his native Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

The house has been sealed by a Mumbai bank over non-repayment of a loan, according to an official.

Explaining what went down, the manager of the branch of Central Bank of India, Manish Verma said that the actor had taken a loan from the Mumbai branch of the bank by mortgaging his property in his native district.

Rajpal Yadav had reportedly set up 'Navrang Godavari Entertainment Limited', a production house, in the name of his parents in 2005. For the same, he took a loan of Rs 5 crore from the Bandra Kurla Complex branch of the Central Bank of India in Mumbai.

Rajpal owes the bank an amount of Rs 11 crore. His property has thus been sealed.

According to locals, the bank officials sealed the building in such a hurry that they failed to even switch off electrical items inside the house.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena said he had no information about the sealing as the local police were not asked in the matter.

Rajpal Yadav hails from Shahjahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh

Rajpal Yadav hails from Kunda village of Shahjahanpur district and visits the place at least once every year. The actor first got his initial education in Banda town and after moved to Shahjahanpur for graduation. It was during his stay in Shahjahanpur that he became interested in theatre. After doing theatre for some years, he went to Bharatendu Natya Akademi in Lucknow, before landing at the National School of Drama in Delhi.

Rajpal Yadav is known for his comic timing in films. He has done a huge variety of films. Some of his films include Bhool Bhulaiyaa, De Dana Dan, Khatta Meetha, Partner, Phir Hera Pheri and others.

This isn’t the first time the actor is at the receiving end of non-payment issues. In 2018, he served a three-month jail sentence for defaulting on a Rs 5 crore loan he had taken in 2010 to produce the film, Ata Pata Laapata.
