Janhvi Kapoor breaks silence on Dostana 2 shelving, Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan’s feud

Starring a young clan of actors Janhvi Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan and debutant Lakshya, Dostana 2 was one of the most-anticipated projects. Unfortunately, due to some creative differences, Kartik had to leave the project, which put a pause on the filming of the movie for an indefinite period.

Since Kartik's exit from Dostana 2,his feud with Karan Johar hasgarner headlines. However, it's still unknown what exactly happened between them during the shoot of the now-shelved movie.

Now, actress Janhvi has broken her silence on Dostana 2 getting shelved and what little does she know about Kartik and Karan's cold war?

The actress, who is currently promoting her next movie, Mr and Mrs Mahi, said during her interview with The Lallantop.

“I don’t know really. We had even shot for that film for about 30 to 35 days. The shoot was going very well, according to me. I don’t know why the film was shelved honestly. Of course, I tried asking also, but I guess,'' she said.

She continued, “We began shooting for that film long before Covid. And then Covid happened and there was a delay of over one-and-a-half years. Then people felt that to restart the film. I don’t know.”

Further, when asked about Kartik and Karan's fight, the Roohi actress said, “I don’t think it was that. I think work is extremely important for both of them. But unke beech kya hua kya nahi hua, you should ask them about it.”

After the professional feud, things look fine between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar now. Both of them have been spotted at several public events, chatting and laughing.

Speaking to Pinkvilla, Karan shared his views on whether he will work with Aaryan in the future.

“We nearly did a film, but for various reasons, it couldn't happen. But you never say never. I'm sure the future holds something strong for both of us. We don't know about Dostana, but that film will be defining for both of us,” Karan said.

In 2021, several inside sources claimed that Kartik’s "unprofessionalism" was the reason behind the actor's exit from the film.
