We might be able to see Matt Damon and Adam Driver together in Ridley Scott’s revenge thriller feature titled ‘The Last Duel’.

According to a report published in The Hollywood Reporter, the period film is based on a real-life thriller about the last legal duel in France.

If all goes through, actor Ben Affleck will also be seen in the film in a supporting cast role as he will reunite with his ‘Good Will Hunting’ collaborator Matt Damon for the project.

Others who will be seen in the film are ‘Killing Eve’ breakout and Emmy winner Jodie Comer.

The film will be helmed by Ridley Scott with the script co-written by Damon, Affleck and Nicole Holofcener. The project will be co-produced by Scott Free Productions and Damon and Affleck's Pearl Street Films.

The film is based on Eric Jager's book ‘The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal and Trial by Combat in Medieval France’. It recounts the real-life revenge drama surrounding the last legally sanctioned duel in France. It follows a man who goes to war and returns to discover a friend has raped his wife. When no one will believe the woman, the soldier appeals to the king, asking that he be allowed to fight a duel to the death to decide the man’s fate. Comer will play the wife.
