South Korea's ousted president Yoon Suk Yeol apologised on Friday after the country's Constitutional Court upheld his impeachment.&nbsp;
Yoon was suspended from duty in December 2024 after being impeached by parliament, following his failed attempt to impose martial law in the country.&nbsp;
"I am truly sorry and heartbroken that I was unable to meet your expectations," he said in a short statement released after the court announced its unanimous verdict.
Now, a snap election to vote for Yoon's replacement must be held by June 3. Until then, Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok will remain as acting president. The new president will take office as soon as the National Election Commission declares the results.
Now, along with the impeachment, Yoon is also being investigated for treason over his botched martial law attempt last December.

Spain has officially ended the Golden Visa programme with effect from Thursday (Apr 3). The Golden Visa programme allowed foreign investors to get residency permits by investing in the country. The scheme was launched in 2013.

The programme also had other options such as investing $2.17 million or more in state bonds or Spanish companies. China censors search on Bangkok building collapse amid probe on Chinese company

Over 250 passengers flying from London to Mumbai have been stranded in Turkey after a Virgin Atlantic flight (VS358) diverted to Diyarbakır Airport. "In the meantime, passengers are being provided with overnight hotel accommodation and refreshments in Turkey while we work towards a resolution, and we will keep all customers informed as soon as new updates become available," the spokesperson added.

However, his third visit was his last, as the islanders supposedly killed him. Fishermen who helped him make the journey reportedly saw the tribals carrying his body and burying it in the sand. The only other person to have made contact with the tribe was an American Christian missionary. John Allen Chau landed on the island in 2018 and is believed to have been killed by the Sentinelese people. He went there three times and recorded his trips. He carried a waterproof Bible with him on his first visit and tried to speak with the tribe members. They were hostile towards him, and Chau called the island "Satan’s last stronghold on Earth." The second time, he said how the Sentinelese people laughed at him when he tried to sing and talk to them in their language. However, his third visit was his last, as the islanders supposedly killed him. Fishermen who helped him make the journey reportedly saw the tribals carrying his body and burying it in the sand. His body could never be recovered because of the tough rules.

The Northern Sea Route (NSR) is a shipping route along the northern coast of Russia, connecting Europe and Asia-Pacific regions via a shorter sea lane through the Arctic Ocean.&nbsp;
Recently, President Vladimir Putin visited the base of Atomflot in the northwestern Russian port city of Murmansk. His visit covered the Headquarters of Marine Operations of the Northern Sea Route General Administration and the Federal State Budgetary Institution (NSR General Administration FSBI).&nbsp;
According to the Russian Nuclear Power agency Rosatom, Putin was briefed about how 50 ships were navigating the waters of the Northern Sea Route (the NSR), with a group of nine nuclear and non-nuclear icebreaker ships. &ldquo;I would like to point out that the headquarters' operations are demonstrated using Russian software of a unified platform for digital services. Now, you can see satellite radar imagery being displayed on the screen. We have begun employing artificial intelligence to analyze these images," said Sergey Zybko, Director General of NSR General Administration FSBI.&nbsp;
Further, highlighting the need for more nuclear icebreaker ships, Zybko stated that the ice situation in the Arctic has been worsening in recent years. "Despite widespread discussion about global warming, the current research by the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institutes does not prove it. According to these studies, no significant changes in ice cover are anticipated during winter and spring months until 2050," he added.&nbsp;
Presently, Russia is building nuclear icebreaker ships Chukotka, Leningrad, and Rossiya. Additionally, another nuclear icebreaker under project 22220, Stalingrad, is also to also be built. Alexey Likhachev, chief of Russia's Nuclear agency Rosatom stated that two more universal nuclear icebreakers are required to maintain steady operations along the Northern sea route. In 2018, the Russian Government appointed Rosatom as the Northern Sea Route infrastructure operator. Rosatom is responsible for overseeing the federal project "Development of the Northern Sea Route".
Apart from Russia, there are seven Arctic nations-Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, USA. Interestingly, all of these seven nations are part of the Western Military Alliance NATO. During the first attempt to arrest him on January 3, the investigation officers faced the security service, which made the authorities retreat with the arrest warrant. However, the police learnt a lesson and on January 15, they reached Yoon's "fortress" with ladders to climb the walls and enter the building. They even threatened Yoon's security personnel with arrest if they tried to stop them the second time.

The blueprint - known as a budget resolution - sheds light on a possible final agenda package. Here's how it looks:&nbsp;

<li>$150 billion in additional defense spending over a 10-year period</li>
<li>$175 billion in additional border security funding over a 10-year period</li>
<li>$21 billion for environmental and transportation committees to identify over a 10-year period</li>
<li>The ability to permanently extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act by tampering with the baseline ($3.8 trillion, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates)</li>
<li>$1.5 trillion for Trump&rsquo;s miscellaneous tax objectives, such as no taxes on tips, overtime pay and Social Security, as well as an increase in the state and local tax deduction (SALT).</li>

Although, the overall goal of new spending over the next decade between defense, the border and other items is around $346 billion, the Senate blueprint allows for almost $500 billion in new spending.&nbsp;
