
Iran launched a drone salvo at Israel on Saturday (Apr 13) which the Israeli military said would take hours to reach their target.
Iraqi security sources said that dozens of drones were spotted flying from Iran toward Israel over Iraqi airspace.
"Dozens of drones were spotted flying from Iran in the direction of Israel over Iraqi airspace," news agency Reuters quoted two security sources in Iraq as saying.
The Iranian Press TV dubbed it as "extensive drone strikes" by the Revolutionary Guards.
The Israeli army said that sirens would blow up in the threatened areas further adding that its defences were well-equipped to tackle them.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a statement saying that Israel was prepared for an attack by Iran further adding that it was ready "for any scenario" as Iran launched dozens of drones.
"In recent weeks, Israel has been preparing for a direct attack by Iran. Our defensive systems are deployed; we are ready for any scenario, both defensively and offensively," Netanyahu said in a televised address.
