Equatorial Guinea: civil servant's 'sex videos' viral, VP warns 'severe measures'

Equatorial Guinea's vice president warned that if civil servants were caught having sex in their offices, they would face "severe measures."
Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue released the warning after hundreds of alleged pornographic videos were leaked on the internet.
The videos reportedly involve a high-ranking civil servant of the country Baltasar Ebang Engonga, who was seen having sex in his office with various women in the clips, including the wives of some prominent officials.
Engonga is the head of Equatorial Guinea's National Financial Investigation Agency and a close relative of the country's president.
In one of his Facebook posts, Engonga has written that he is "feeling sad" along with a photo of a woman and children with the caption, "Family is everything".
The video president said having sex in the office is a "flagrant violation of the code of conduct" and any official found engaging in such acts will be suspended immediately.
Mangue further ordered theinstallation of surveillance cameras in courts and ministries to combat the "indecent" and "illicit acts."
His office said in a statement that the decision has been made after the circulated videos denigrated the image of the country," according to a BBC report.
The vice president has also recommended opening an investigation into the matter.
The videos were leaked after Engonga was arrested on corruption charges, state media reported.
Last week, thepresident said that pornographic videos had been "flooding" on social media and ordered telecom companies to curb them. Since then, the Internet flow, especially the downloading speed of images, has been severely disrupted in the country.
Equatorial Guinea's chief prosecutor Anatolio Nzang Nguema told the local media that if Engonga was found to have been "infected with a sexually transmitted disease" he would be prosecuted for an offence against "public health".
