A bipartisan agreement was reached by a vote of 63-36 in the U.S. debt ceiling proceedings. Congress has approved a deal to raise the government's borrowing limit and prevent any catastrophic default on US debt repayments. President Joe Biden will enact the measure into law on June 5.
