Super Typhoon Fung-Wong: Typhoon Fung-wong, known locally as Super Typhoon Uwan, hit the northern Philippines causing widespread flooding, landslides, and power outages. The storm made landfall in Aurora province with sustained winds of up to 185 km/h (115 mph) and gusts of 230 km/h (143 mph). At least two people have been killed, and over 1.4 million people were displaced, many of whom were evacuated ahead of the typhoon.
