2025 BMW 1 Series revealed, along with its M hot hatch version

BMW has unveiled the latest generation of its entry-level model — the 1 Series hatchback — for global markets. The G70 version of the hot hatch gets a thoroughly revised design, now more in line with newer offerings from the brand. All variants ditch the manual gearbox, opting for a sole seven-speed automatic transmission in a move towards simplified offerings. More stringent emission regulations have also reduced about 6 horses from the M135 xDrive's output, which is now 296bhp. As a result, it takes 0.1 seconds extra for zero to 100kmph, doing the sprint now in 4.9 seconds. However, its electronically-limited top speed remains at 250 kilometres per hour.
