Global NCAP’s new Safer Cars for Africa crash results reveal a disappointing one-star rating for the made-in-India Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga underwent a crash test by Global NCAP in 2019 and received an average rating of three stars. However, it performed poorly under the Global NCAP's new, stricter testing protocols, implemented in July 2022. Also, the rating for child occupants dropped from three stars to two stars. The India-made MPV comes with two frontal airbags as standard. Its structure received a borderline unstable rating, and its footwell area was also rated as unstable, with pedal displacement showing potential injury risks to the driver's lower legs.

Here's the Bugatti Chiron successor - the Tourbillion, named after a Swiss watch mechanism. It becomes the first Bugatti to get the Cosworth-developed, 8.3-litre engine that revs to 9,500rpm and makes 1,000bhp without any turbochargers. Then it has a front e-axle with two electric motors, and a 25kWh centrally-mounted battery pack, adding 800 horsepower to the mix. With a combined output of 1,800bhp, the Tourbillon goes to 100kmph in just 2 seconds. Under full throttle, it crosses the 200kmph mark in around 5 seconds and reaches its electronically-limited top speed of 380kmph in less than 25 seconds. BMW has unveiled the latest generation of its entry-level model — the 1 Series hatchback — for global markets. The G70 version of the hot hatch gets a thoroughly revised design, now more in line with newer offerings from the brand. All variants ditch the manual gearbox, opting for a sole seven-speed automatic transmission in a move towards simplified offerings. More stringent emission regulations have also reduced about 6 horses from the M135 xDrive's output, which is now 296bhp. As a result, it takes 0.1 seconds extra for zero to 100kmph, doing the sprint now in 4.9 seconds. However, its electronically-limited top speed remains at 250 kilometres per hour.

After numerous attempts at making the ‘last-ever’ Chiron, Bugatti has done the same, again. The French carmaker has revealed the Chiron L’Ultime, claimed to be 'the final' iteration of the Chiron that marks the end of the 500-unit production run of the W16 flagship. For the final, 500th piece, the Bugatti Sur Mesure team has reimagined the original design of the Chiron Super Sport. It wears an interplay of French Racing Blue and Atlantic Blue with a fading effect and a tribute to all the places where the car has been since 2016.
