Delhi cab driver throws out Pakistani passenger, his female friend over anti-India remarks

A recent video circulating on social media shows a brawl between an Uber driver and a Pakistani passenger over allegations of disrespecting India. The video shows that the Pakistani passenger was accompanied by an Indian woman.

The incident that took place late Friday night (Aug 10), shows the driver abandoning the Pakistani male-Indian woman duo in Delhi in the middle of the night.

In the video, the driver can be heard yelling, "Yes, you are Pakistani *******. Yes, and you are too," directing his anger toward the passengers. The woman, who was recording the incident, responded by saying, "This man has left us on the road at 12:30 in the night.”

The driver then hurled an insult, "Halala ki aulad ho tum log (You all are offsprings of Halala)," further escalating the situation.

The driver got furious after overhearing a conversation between the passengers, during which the Pakistani guy was calling the people of Delhi “matlabparast” (selfish), as per The Observer Post. The video that got circulated is from the part when the driver started responding to the guy.

As per the woman passenger, his friend was simply making a remark about his observations of Delhi and his relatives back in Pakistan, which the driver found offensive.

Filmed by the woman seated in the backseat, the video shows the driver objecting to a comment made by the male passenger accompanying her. The driver can be heard warning the passenger to "control his words."

The woman later blamed it on “Hindutva” and how this ideology is “thriving” in the country. She also tagged Uber India in her Instagram post and uploaded several Instagram stories. Uber India hasn’t responded to the incident yet. Later, the woman deactivated her Instagram account, as per her last story.

Netizens react to incident

The video quickly went viral, sparking a number of reactions, with several users praising the Uber driver for ejecting passengers after a dispute over disparaging comments about India.

"We need this Uber drivers number. Haven’t tipped people in a while, finally found someone deserving it," wrote one user on X.

Another user added, "A Pakistani with his Indian Girlfriend was disparaging India. The Uber driver threw them both out after the Indian girl chose to support the Pakistani rather than the nation. We need more Drivers with spine like this."

"The poor driver is a true patriot who, at extreme risk to his profession, stood up to Pakistani criminal and his garbage Indian accomplice," said a third user.

“National hero. No matter who you are..You can’t abuse the nation,” said another.
