Considered by many as the greatest-ever to grace this business, the fans started chanting ‘Thank You Cena’.

Rohit says goodbye to T20Is

The veteran batter Rohit Sharma announced his T20I retirement following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup Final against South Africa, which India won by seven runs. He retired as the highest run-getter (4231) in the format, with five centuries – the most by any batter in T20Is. With the win in Barbados, Rohit became the first Indian cricketer to win two T20 World Cups – 2007 in South Africa and 2024 in West Indies.

Alongside Rohit, two other players, including batting great Virat Kohli and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, also announced their decisions to step aside from T20Is.

While Virat’s numbers in this format need no introduction, given how big a match-winner he’s been, Jadeja bows out as one of the finest the game has seen. The ace all-rounder had several handy outings to recall in his glorious career, with his ground fielding and rocket throws being his trump cards.

What’s next for Team India?

Following the conclusion of the 20-team-tournament in the Americas, Team India will fly to Zimbabwe for five T20Is starting July 6, with Shubman Gill named stand-in captain for the tour.

In the absence of a head coach, with Rahul Dravid departing, NCA chief VVS Laxman will fill in his place. A new head coach, yet to be named, will take over the reins from the Sri Lanka white-ball tour later in the month.

As per reports, former India opener and two-time World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir is leading the race to replace Dravid.

It’s always fun when two different sports meet – this time it's cricket and WWE. Moments after leading India to its second T20 World Cup title in Barbados, Captain Rohit Sharma did an iconic slow walk towards the podium before collecting the trophy and celebrating with the team.

It’s always fun when two different sports meet – this time it's cricket and WWE. Moments after leading India to its second T20 World Cup title in Barbados, Captain Rohit Sharma did an iconic slow walk towards the podium before collecting the trophy and celebrating with the team. That, however, reminded everyone of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, who used to walk similarly during his in-ring matches. A day after the video went viral, Flair reacted to it on his social media handle. Taking to his Instagram handle, Ric posted, "@rohitsharma45 Taking A Page Out Of My Playbook! WOOOOO!" View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ric Flair® Nature Boy® (@ricflairnatureboy) × Meanwhile, for those who watched the moment closely, India spinner Kuldeep Yadav was the one who suggested Rohit does ‘Ric Flair’ while picking up the T20 World Cup trophy. Although he shrugged it off at that moment, Rohit surprised the cricket world with that when the moment came. The fans in attendance and billions watching on the TV cherished the moment.
A 16-time WWE champion John Cena has opened up on his retirement plans. The veteran in-ring superstar is now a part-timer for a few years, and considering his age, 47, he is unlikely to prolong his career in the business that made him the star he is today.
The outcome of Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns main event match at WrestleMania 39 sent shockwaves in the pro-wrestling world, with the Tribal Chief retaining his WWE Undisputed Universal title. That, however, was not the original plan, per the latest reports.

With the American Nightmare returning (from a torn pectoral muscle injury he suffered in 2022) and winning last year’s Royal Rumble, he was tipped to beat Roman at the Showcase of Immortals, ending his reign as the Universal Champion. WWE: Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns WrestleMania 39 original plan revealed

The WrestleMania season has begun, and the greatest WWE superstar, The Rock, has made his presence felt by getting involved in the storyline, including the Bloodline and Cody Rhodes. On the last episode of Monday Night RAW, The Rock made a shocking appearance on the show, interrupting Rhodes during his promo. Though he didn’t do anything then, the Rock whispered something in Cody’s ears, leaving him shocked and everyone confused.

On the same episode, The Rock took down Cody to the extent that he was left bleeding throughout, as seen in the footage available on social media. Although that attack on WWE’s future superstar is part of the storyline, The Rock’s heel turn is something the fans are enjoying since his return ahead of WrestleMania 40.

A video has been doing the rounds where WWE legend The Undertaker saved his wife from a possible shark attack. Thus, the WWE legend has once again proved that he is not the one to mess with in real life. Throughout his memorable WWE career, the 'Deadman' has often dominated the ring and was one of the most intimidating and fierce characters. Recently, he proved that he is a strong character outside the ring as well, by taking on a shark. The Undertaker came to his wife's rescue who could have been attacked by a shark. Revealing the whole incident, his wife Michelle McCool shared a video on her official Instagram handle and wrote, "I was simply enjoying a book on the beach when this 'vegetation' looked a lot like a shark... so I text hubby @undertaker". In addition, she expressed her gratitude towards her better half with a picture and captioned, "Kinda digging that last picture... A LOT #myprotector". However, perhaps for the first time, a mainstream WWE wrestler would be talked about for his dancing skills. Recently, a video on Twitter is doing rounds, showing the Intercontinental Champion Gunther performing bhangra moves (a folk dance form that originated in Punjab, India). The Ring General, who married his wife, Jinny, was seen flexing his muscles by doing bhangra dance on the stage with some Punjabi music in the background and a dhol (an instrument).
This Friday Night SmackDown is the first one since WrestleMania 39, and as per the latest reports, tension seems to rise within The Bloodline. While the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns is not scheduled to appear on the blue brand this time, his cousins and the former Tag-Team champions – The Usos are likely to have a segment involving the wise man Paul Heyman.

Following Mania, where The Usos lost their titles to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, Roman refused to confront his brothers on the past episode of Monday Night RAW, instructing Heyman to send them to his private jet during the show.

As per WRKD Wrestling, as quoted by Sportskeeda, a segment mainly revolving around Jey and Heyman is scheduled for SmackDown, and that, it would lead to a rise in tensions between the two. However, things are volatile on that front and can change at anytime.

WWE: Backup opponent for Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39 is ready if match against Bray Wyatt doesn't happen

WWE has not renewed Bill Goldberg's contract, making it clear that the company is no more interested in using the WWE star again. Goldberg is a free agent now. As per reports, President of All Elite Wrestling Tony Khan is interested in getting Goldberg on board. However, the unceremonial exit of the WWE star has turned the speculation market red hot whether WWE’s creative head Paul Triple H Levesque has some personal vendetta against Goldberg. The fact that Goldberg was not given a farewell match further fuels the speculations.

Triple H’s personal grudges against Bill Goldberg

The wrestling community is well aware of the personal rivalries between Triple H and Goldberg when both of them were at the height of their careers in the early 2000s.
Life, taxes, death and The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak – all these things never seemed like ending. But in Taker’s case, it did, much to everyone’s shock at the Grandest stage of all. When Brock Lensar F-5’ed the Undertaker for the third time, somewhere deep down, everyone knew he would not let the pinfall happen. But as Vince had already thought about it, the unimaginable happened and the Beast Incarnate won the match instead.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani on BT Sports, the Taker opened up on his WrestleMania streak and who according to him should have broken that if not Brock.

The Undertaker said heading into the Mania, he, Vince and a few others knew that the streak is about to get broken for which Vince chased a few wrestlers before finalising Brock for the same. The Undertaker revealed one of the names The Chairman approached was Edge but he denied saying he can’t do that.

“By the time we got to WrestleMania, we pretty much knew what was going to go down, but there were a few people I guess that he wanted to break the streak. (Vladimir) Kozlov, he wanted him. It was early on, and I think he wanted Edge to go over and Edge refused. He said, ‘No. I can’t do it.’ That’s how much he respected the streak and me and what that streak meant to the business. I didn’t know that at that time. I didn’t know that until years after. That says a lot about the human being he is,” the Undertaker said.

Eventually, Brock was chosen to put an end to a streak the world will always remember for good. But had it been for Roman Reigns, a win there would have changed the world for him.

“It’s hard to say. I don’t think Brock needed it. I think Brock was a major attraction, he was a star, and he was made. I don’t know that it enhanced him anymore. I think it would have been great for Roman if Brock hadn’t already done it. It would have been a huge thing for Roman. I don’t know that it meant the same to Brock as it would have meant to Roman or anybody else who would have done it because Brock had already been there. Brock had already gone off to UFC. He already had all these major accomplishments. I think it could have helped somebody else,” the Undertaker added.

Besides these, the 5-foot-6, 175-pound wrestler has also won Cruiserweight Championship five times in WCW and three times in WWE. Meanwhile, just when Rey entered the ring to express his gratitude for getting inducted into the 2023 Hall of Fame, the heel faction of The Judgement Day interrupted him with all eyes staring Rey’s son Dominic Mysterio, who is also likely to be Rey’s opponent at WrestleMania 39. Not only Dominic was booed on his way to the ring, he even disrespected his father’s accomplishment early on.
Today on Friday night SmackDown, the final contender for the Intercontinental title match against Gunther at WrestleMania 39 was to be determined. However, a controversial finish to the fatal-5 way between Sheamus, LA Knight, Xavier Woods, Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross led to another match for next week’s SmackDown that will eventually decide who goes on to face The Ring General at Mania.

SmackDown started with this as the match saw a lot of back and forth from each wrestler. The exciting fatal-5 way had the fans on their feet as there were some close countdowns and pinfalls. However, the match ended with McIntyre and Sheamus pinning LA Knight and Woods, respectively. The finish confused everyone as who will now be on the Road to WrestleMania. While the referees present inside the ring had declared both as winners, Adam Pearce burst on to the scene with a solution.

Meanwhile, Gunther is clearly the most-talked-about Intercontinental champion in history. Having fared against and beaten some of the biggest names on the roster in Rey Mysterio, Braun Strowman and even Ricochet for the title, Gunther is on a different level at this stage.

The former NXT champion, Gunther made headlines earlier for his superb performance at the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble – where he remained inside the ring for over close to 70 minutes breaking Mysterio’s previous record. Cody Rhodes, the eventual winner of the Rumble was the one who sent him over the top rope.

However, as per some reports surfacing, both Sheamus and Drew McIntyre were penned to face Gunther at the Showcase of Immortals. Now with this match sealed for next week, it would be exciting to see makes it through to the grander stage.

Ever-since making his debut on the main roster more than two decades ago, the Big Red Machine, also widely known as Kane (Glenn Jacobs), was a sensation for anyone following pro-wrestling. A huge, strongly built man with the red mask being the cherry on the cake was all but a mysterious figure for the fans and millions watching on TV. His on-screen pairing with the Deadman, The Undertaker was the most destructive faction in WWF, WWE.

In a recent exclusive chat with PWMania.com, Kane opened up on his pairing with The Undertaker, what it was like removing the mask and his take on returning to WWE.

Firstly, Kane talked about working with the Deadman saying it was amazing to work with him, and that the Undertaker remained his favourite from day one. Showering praises on his on-screen brother, Kane said what Undertaker could do with his physique not many had the ability to pull that off.

“It was amazing. Undertaker was my favourite superstar before I got into the WWE. He debuted right around the time I broke into the wrestling business. He’s always been my favourite. There were a lot of big guys who couldn’t do the stuff he could do,” Kane said.

Elaborating on what it was like removing his mask and breaking the suspense on live television, Kane said he was excited about it because he felt his character with the mask on was getting stale.

“I was pumped about it. It was a change. I felt that Kane had gotten rather stale. I was excited to do it,” Kane added.

Finally speaking on his potential return to the WWE in any capacity in future, Kane said,

“I’ll always leave that door open. In WWE, we never say never. I don’t know what will happen. I do some stuff here and there in the WWE. That’s a part of me and it’s something I enjoy and want to do for the rest of my life. If it’s something in the ring, I don’t know. Maybe you have to ask Kane that question.”

John Cena is on the cusp of equalling a long-standing record held by former WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. Ahead of his battle with Austin Theory at the WrestleMania 39, Cena is closing in on attaining a massive feat. If the veteran beats Theory, he will tie a 27-year-long record of having the most US Title reigns in history (6). However, it won't be an easy task for Cena who has not won a singles match in WWE since 2018.

It is to be noted that the pro-wrestling legend Flair became a record six-time US Champion when he toppled Konnan at WCW Bash at The Beach in 1996. Cena, on the other hand, is currently tied at five reigns along with some other notable names such as Chris Benoit, Wahoo McDaniel, Lex Luger, and Bret Hart.
