<p>In the video, you can see how the seal pups run back to the sea after being freed from the clutches of the fish net. Posting the video, Suter wrote: "Yesterday, we were in the West Coast National Park in South Africa. Fortunately, we were able to rescue three seals that were entangled in a net. In this video, you can only see two of them - so grateful they all made it."</p>

<p>"It was a very tangible reminder of how important it is to educate ourselves, clean up our beaches and work to ensure plastic and things like this are not in our oceans. There is so much plastic and other waste, I can't imagine what animals go through," he added.</p>

<h2><strong>What the animals go through</strong></h2>

<p>As per World Animal Protection, an international non-profit organisation that has been working for animal welfare for over 50 years, thousands of marine animals die due to human fishing gear every year.</p>

<p>"Every year, over 136,000 whales, dolphins, seals and turtles are caught in ghost gear – lost, discarded or abandoned fishing equipment."</p>

<p>On its website, the organisation reports that humans abandon around 640,000 tonnes of the so-called ghost gear in the ocean. These fishing gear can take as much as 600 years to break down.</p>

<p>"A staggering 640,000 tonnes, the equivalent of 52,000 London double decker buses, or 12 Sydney Harbour Bridges of ghost gear is left in our oceans annually. Some of these nets are bigger than football pitches."</p>

<p>As per the animal welfare organisation, fishing gears that are made to "capture and kill" marine animals "continue&nbsp;to do this after being left in the ocean."</p>

<p>For passengers travelling by Japan's flagship carrier, their vacations can now include the option to rent a selection of clothes. As per a BBC report, they can choose various options, including clothing type, season, style, and pickup and return dates.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Miho Moriya, who works for Sumitomo, the Japanese company handling reservations, deliveries, and laundering, came up with the idea. She says that what inspired her to come with this was her own dread about luggage.</p>

<p>"I love travelling and I've been to many foreign countries, but I've always dreaded dragging around luggage or doing laundry abroad," she said.</p>

<p>Moriya says it took "many tries" to find an airline that would support her idea, and once it got approved, the implementation was pushed back due to the pandemic. Over time, she hopes to expand this service to other airlines within the OneWorld Alliance and eventually worldwide, contributing to sustainable travel practices.</p>

<h2><strong>How would it help the planet?</strong></h2>

<p>To begin with, it should help cut down on holiday shopping. Many people tend to shop, especially for their vacations. These clothes often end up sitting in their wardrobes once the holiday is over.</p>

<p>This initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions by lowering the weight carried on JAL's aeroplanes. It is estimated that saving about 22 pounds (10 kg) in luggage equates to approximately 16.5 pounds (7.5 kg) saved in emissions.<br />

This latest edition of the campaign took place at the Chikushino Automobile School in Chikushino City on August 22 and had 10 participants, including a 77-year-old.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>How it went</strong></h2>

<p>Drivers were first evaluated on their reflexes and driving skills while sober. They were then provided enough alcohol to exceed the legal limit and given a driving course to complete.</p>

<p>Talking to CNN, a police spokesperson revealed that each participant had a driving instructor with them throughout the exercise, even riding with them in their respective vehicles.</p>

<p>Conducted within the confines of the driving school premises, the "hands-on event" allowed "drivers to experience for themselves the difference between driving before and after drinking and to get a sense of how dangerous drink-driving can be," said the spokesperson.</p>

<p>Many participants, as per the spokesperson, acknowledged that the experience highlighted how they had been "overconfident" about their ability to drive under the influence of alcohol. Drink and drive? Japanese police use unique approach to show dangers of drunk driving

<p>There's nothing more irritating than noisy, crying children while travelling on a flight. Stuck for hours in the air, all you can do is put on earplugs that do little to dissipate the noise. For people&nbsp;who hate this, a Turkish-Dutch airline is set to introduce an “only adult” zone.</p>

<p>The service for now will be introduced on Turkish-Dutch Corendon Airlines flights between Amsterdam and Curaçao starting November&nbsp;3.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Only adults</strong></h2>

<p>“This zone on the plane is intended for travellers travelling without children and for business travellers who want to work in a quiet environment,” said the airline in a statement.</p>

<p>As per the company's press release, the 'Only Adult' section is set up in the front section of the aircraft and will have 102 seats. Nine seats will be XL with extra legroom and 93 will be standard seats.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The quiet section will be separated from the rest of the aeroplane “by means of walls and curtains, creating a shielded environment that contributes to a calm and relaxed flight.”</p>

<p>Passengers aged 16 or more can travel in this section.</p>

<h2><strong>How much will it cost?</strong></h2>

<p>Passengers in the “only adult” zone will have to cough up some extra charges for the noiseless journeys.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the airline, a seat reservation in the 'Only Adult' aeroplane section will cost passengers 45 Euros (around 48.5 US dollars). The nine extra-legroom seats will have an additional surcharge and will cost people €100 (around 107.9 US dollars) per journey.</p>

<h2><strong>A win-win situation</strong></h2>

<p>Coredon says that the adult-only zone will not only be a win for travellers looking for a quiet environment but would also benefit parents of little children.</p>

How much will it cost? Passengers in the “only adult” zone will have to cough up some extra charges for the noiseless journeys. As per the airline, a seat reservation in the 'Only Adult' aeroplane section will cost passengers 45 Euros (around 48.5 US dollars). The nine extra-legroom seats will have an additional surcharge and will cost people €100 (around 107.9 US dollars) per journey. <p>The shameful incident, as per an Indian Express report, took place on Thursday in Khubbapur village of Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar.</p>

<p>As per the report, police and education authorities have taken cognizance of the incident and are exploring action against Tyagi.</p>

<p>"Abki baar kamar pe maaro… chalo… muh pe na maaro ab muh laal ho raha hai… kamar pe maaro saare (Start hitting him on the waist… His face is turning red, hit him on the waist instead)."</p>

<p>She can also be heard asking children to hit the little boy harder, "Kya tum maar rahe ho? Zor se maaro na (Why are you hitting him so lightly? Hit him hard)."&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>FIR yet to be filed</strong></h2>

<p>The police in a statement said that upon investigation, they "found that the woman was 'declaring' in the video that Mohammedan students get spoiled when their mothers don't pay attention to their studies. The basic education officer has been informed and departmental action will be taken against the teacher."</p>

<p>As per Indian Express, the police have received the video, but a complaint is yet to be filed by the boy's father.</p>

<p>The victim child's father told local reporters that he is not planning to file a case and that he will take his son out of the school.</p>

<p>Khatauli Circle Officer Dr Ravi Shankar said that "Tripta Tyagi is the head of the school," and that they are trying to "convince the child's father to file a complaint; after that we would be able to file an FIR. Further legal action is being taken."</p>

<p>"Today, Mansurpur police station received a video wherein a woman teacher was ordering students of a class to beat a child for not learning multiplication tables. There were some objectionable comments too," said Satyanarayan Prajapat, Superintendent of Police (City), Muzaffarnagar in a statement.</p>

<p>Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in a post criticised the teacher's actions and said, "Sowing the poison of discrimination in the minds of innocent children, turning a holy place like a school into a marketplace of hatred — nothing worse a teacher can do for the country."</p>

<p>UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, who has been sent to the International Space Station on a six-month space mission, shared a fascinating video on X (previously known as Twitter) which demonstrated how he ate honey and bread for a quick snack.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the viral video, Neyadi is showing how honey changes in space which has left many science lovers mesmerised. From a bottle of Emirati honey, he first squeezes&nbsp;a huge dollop of honey on a piece of bread. The honey is seen forming a ball after attaching itself to the slice of bread.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The scientist then leaves his snack floating in zero gravity and slowly gets hold of the floating bread and jiggles the honey on it. He then holds the bread and enjoys his honey sandwich.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the video, he also speaks about the benefits of eating honey and adds that it is good for the health of astronauts.</p>

<p>Acknowledging growing concerns over the exploitation of young 'influencers' on social media platforms, Illinois has enacted the United States's first law to safeguard minors featured in online videos. The law will also ensure that these young influencers are properly compensated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The legislation, as per a CNN report, was inspired by the advocacy of 16-year-old Shreya Nallamothu from Normal, Illinois.</p>

<h2><strong>How it all started</strong></h2>

<p>The teenager's concern reportedly began when scrolling through social media during the pandemic. She noticed an increasing number of children featured in family vlogs. These videos made her "realise family vlogging is putting very private and intimate moments on&nbsp;the internet."</p>

<p>This prompted her to write a letter to Democrat Dave Koehler, her state senator, urging him to consider protective legislation for these children.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"The fact that these kids are either too young to grasp that or weren’t given the chance to grasp that is really sad," says Nallamothu.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>The law</strong></h2>

<p>Influenced by her letter, last week, Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker signed into law an amendment to the state's Child Labor Law.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Among other things, the new law allows teenagers over the age of 18 to sue their parents if they were featured in monetised social media videos and not adequately compensated. These rights mirror the rights held by child actors.</p>

<p>The new law draws inspiration from the 1936 "Jackie Coogan's Law," which was designed to prevent parents from exploiting child actors' earnings.</p>

<p>Starting July 1, 2024, parents in Illinois will be obligated to allocate 50 per cent of earnings from a video's content into a blocked trust fund for the child 'influencer'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The exact amount, however, will depend on the duration for which the child is featured in the video. For instance, if a child appears in 50 per cent of a video, they'll be liable to receive 25 per cent of the earnings. Similarly, for a video they're in 100 per cent, they will get 50 per cent of the earnings.</p>

<p>However, this rule applies only when a child appears on screen for more than 30 per cent of the vlogs shared in a one-year period.</p>

<p>Talking to CNN, Senator Koehler said that they "understand that parents should receive compensation too because they have equity in this, but we don't want to forget about the child."</p>

<h2><strong>Why is such a law necessary?</strong></h2>

<p>Recently, there has been a rising trend of YouTube parent vloggers and social media influencers posting frequent videos sharing personal details about their lives.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Children often play a significant role in these monetised videos, yet there is no legal requirement for parents to share the video earnings with the children.</p>

<p>Similarly, kid influencer&nbsp;accounts that often earn as much as $20,000 for sponsored posts rarely benefit the children. These accounts are managed by parents due to age restrictions on social media platforms.</p>

<p>"We know with the explosion of social media that parents are using it to monetise kids being on videos. If money is being made and nothing is set up for the children, it's the same thing as a child actor," said Koehler.</p>

<p>Experts say that this legislation "is a long time coming." Jessica Maddox, an assistant professor studying social media influencer communities, expressed hope that other US states will follow Illinois' example.</p>

<p>She said, "Social media labour and careers are becoming increasingly common and viable forms of income, and it’s important that the law catches up with technology to ensure minors aren’t being exploited."</p>

<p>As per the chef, edible insects come in a variety of flavours, from nutty,&nbsp;crispy, to cheesy, citrusy and coconutty. "What I'm&nbsp;trying to do is present people with this wonderful cornucopia of flavours, textures and ideas of how to cook with edible insects."</p>

<p>"You don’t have to think about making a new dish with a new ingredient, but if you like to make fried rice like I do, I love making fried rice with crickets. I love adding crickets to my mac and cheese. You can add the cricket powder to the cheese sauce," he adds.</p>

Bushfires on the West coast of Maui island were fuelled by high winds from a nearby hurricane. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed the seaside town of Lahaina.</p>

<p>The wildfire spread so&nbsp;rapidly that many were caught off-guard. Some people were trapped in the streets, others jumped into the ocean to escape the advancing flames.</p>

<p>"It really looks like somebody came along and just bombed the whole town. It's completely devastated," said Canadian Brandon Wilson, who had travelled to Hawaii with his wife to celebrate their 25th anniversary, but was at the airport trying to get a flight out. He was quoted by AFP.</p>

<p>"It was really hard to see," he said, teary-eyed. "You feel so bad for people. They lost their homes, their lives, their livelihoods."</p>

<p>The Hawaii fire has come in the wake of other extreme weather events and wildfires in North America in the past few months. Record-breaking wildfires are still burning across Canada, a nation usually associated with its harsh winters.</p>

<p>Temperatures have soared in Europe and parts of Asia. These regions have also witnessed widespread wildfires.</p>

<p>"What we've seen today has been catastrophic... likely the largest natural disaster in Hawaii state history," Governor Josh Green said as quoted by AFP</p>

<p>"In 1960 we had 61 fatalities when a large wave came through Big Island," he said earlier in the day, referring to a tragedy that struck a year after Hawaii became the 50th US state.</p>

<p>"This time, it's very likely that our death totals will significantly exceed that."</p>

<h2><strong>The fatalities</strong></h2>

<p>As per information from Maui County officials, by 9 pm Thursday (0700 GMT Friday), 55 people had been killed and it was feared that the number would increase.</p>

<p>The devastating fire has forced thousands of people to evacuate. Around 1,400 people were waiting at the main airport in Kahului overnight&nbsp;trying to get out.</p>

<p>Maui County has asked visitors to leave "as soon as possible," and organised buses to move evacuees from shelters to the airport.</p>

<p>The island attracts about a third of all the visitors who come to Hawaii to spend their holidays with their families and loved ones.</p>

<p>This as per her happens when couples sometimes drift too far apart. In other cases, this is due to abuse or even shocking transgressions. Many older adults, especially those in their 80s, feel whatever time they have left is too precious to spend with the wrong person.</p>

<p>Myers says that the pandemic has also contributed to this awakening.</p>

<p>As the world battled the Covid pandemic, more and more people realised the difference in opinions, perspective them and their partners may have when in comes to a number of things, like masks, vaccine, etc.</p>

<p>A CNN report from January 2022 showed that this difference of opinion also stretched to the vaccination of children.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the report, grey divorces also come with some financial troubles for the couple. Traditionally, couples tend to create a "nest egg" together. This means they save money for their old age, together.</p>

<p>Divorce cuts this in half, and some have reported a significant drop in their standard of living after a divorce later in life.</p>

<p>That being said, the rising trend of people living together isn't merely fuelled by 'grey divorce'. Many older people living on their own as per the researchers were widowed and a growing share reported never being married.</p>

<p>"There are many more of us than people realise who don't see living single or living alone as some sort of burden, but instead embrace it as something that we really just love," says researcher and psychologist Bella DePaulo.</p>

<p>The spider wasp or tarantula hawk wasp is known for paralysing its namesake with its sting. The excruciating sting, which scores a mind-numbing 4 on the Schmidt Pain Index, paralyses its victim, and then afterwards, the insect lays eggs on the incapacitated tarantula.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In time, the larvae burst out of the victim's body and feed on the still-living spider, a scene that is reminiscent of scenes from the 1979 horror film "Alien."</p>

<p>"I collected the tarantula after it was stung, but before the wasp laid an egg, so I've had the opportunity to observe the tarantula's recovery," said the biologist.</p>

<p>The biologist reports encountering a tarantula that had fallen victim to the wasp's sting. Curious about the exact duration of this paralysis that is supposed to last for months, Legan brought the tarantula home.</p>

Fossils unearthed in China's Hubei Province show that a curious marine reptile that roamed the waters around 250 million years ago had hunting habits similar to the modern gentle giants of the sea — whales.</p>

<h2><strong>Blast from the past</strong></h2>

<p>Scientists estimate that the ancient reptile species existed in the Triassic Period, around 248 million years ago. They suggest that the marine reptile species called Hupehsuchus nanchangensis was lost to us during Earth's worst mass extinction.</p>

<p>While the reptile had a feeding style similar to the modern whale, Hupehsuchus was far more modest, at only about three feet (one metre) long.</p>

<p>Fossils indicate that the reptile had a long, narrow snout, a toothless mouth. It used its front and back limbs as paddles for steering, and its broad tail for forward propulsion.</p>

<p>Hupehsuchus nanchangensis' snout was made up of long, loose bones, with the lower jaw connected to the rest of the skull loosely. This, as per the scientists, allowed it to open its mouth wide to take in large amounts of water that contained small prey like zooplanktons.</p>

<h2><strong>How similar were these reptiles to whales?</strong></h2>

<p>Not very, there's a very obvious, enormous size difference. Furthermore, while the feeding method is similar, scientists speculate that there might be key differences.</p>

<p>"The further the relationship between two animals, the more fascinating this phenomenon becomes," said the study's lead author paleontologist Long Cheng of the Wuhan Center of China Geological Survey.&nbsp;<br />
"Baleen whales are mammals and Hupehsuchus are reptiles. Their affinity is so distant. And they appeared more than 200 million years apart," he added.</p>

<p>To sift through the ocean water for prey, whales use baleen plates, aka whale bone, that are plates made of keratin. However, fossils of the Hupehsuchus nanchangensis were missing baleen.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Talking to Reuters, co-author of the research, palaeontologist Mike Benton of the University of Bristol in England said: "Altogether, this points to a soft pouch made of skin around the mouth and throat, as in modern baleen whales, and some kind of filtering device hanging from the jaws, like baleen - but the 'baleen' and skin are not preserved."&nbsp;The research was published on Monday in the journal BMC Ecology and Evolution.</p>

<p>Talking to Live Science, James Moskito, CEO of the California-based ocean tour operator Ocean Safaris, who captured the video during an expedition to the Gulf of California, said: "The killer whales start coming in and next I know they're biting the bottom of it (the victim shark)".</p>

<p>"It's literally over in a matter of seconds," remarks Moskito, adding, "They came in, they bit the bottom of the whale shark. Looks like they slurped in the liver and then the whale shark just fell and descended down, with no movement — I'm assuming it was dead."&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Tuesday, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Somalia called for Dahir's suspension following "a preliminary investigation meeting with the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Somalia." The investigation ended with the conclusion that Ali "has been identified as not a sports person nor a runner" and Dahir "has engaged in acts of abuse of power, nepotism, and defaming the name of the nation in the international arena."</p>

<p>"Furthermore, the Ministry of Youth and Sports firmly declares its intention to pursue legal action against both the Chairman of the Athletics Federation of Somalia and individuals responsible for the falsification of the Somali University Sports Association," a statement from the office of the Minister of Youth and Sports Hon,&nbsp;Mohamed Barre Mohamud, pointed out.</p>

<p>Reportedly, Ali has denied all claims of her relative Dahir's involvement in her selection. As per her, she took part in the race after topping in university competitions. In addition, the youngster has vowed to bounce back strongly and improve in the upcoming races.</p>

<p>World Athletics stated, according to Yahoo Sports, "Countries who have no male and/or no female athletes who had achieved the entry standard or considered as having achieved the entry standard or a qualified relay team, can enter one unqualified male athlete or one unqualified female athlete in one event of the championships." Thus, it might have been exploited by Dahir, if she was actually involved in Ali's unfair selection.&nbsp;</p>

<p>His birth certificate for the year 1917 shows that he was born on 4th August 1895, which means he was born before the first-ever high school proms (1920s) and the discovery of X-rays (November 1985).</p>

'He's just Ken': Malala Yousafzai jumps on the Barbie bandwagon

<p>A terrifying yet amazing&nbsp;drone footage captured by a fisherman has revealed the&nbsp;moment a shark attacked his friend's boat, off the Palm Beach coast in Florida, USA.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Josh Jorgensen, known for producing videos for the popular BlacktipH Fishing YouTube channel, posted the footage on his Instagram account, leaving viewers shocked at the sheer power of the&nbsp;apex predator.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>While flying the drone. Jorgensen filmed two large cobia swimming alongside a bull shark. Since cobia is regarded as one of the best-tasting fishes in the ocean,&nbsp;Jorgensen's friend&nbsp;revved his boat and went into&nbsp;the waters to catch the fish.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I was flying my drone at the beach and spotted two huge cobia swimming with a bull shark.&nbsp;Cobia is one of the best-tasting&nbsp;fish in the ocean.&nbsp;So, I called my buddy Carl, and he raced over to try to catch them," said&nbsp;Jorgensen.</p>

<p>While&nbsp;Jorgensen piloted the drone, he spotted the bull shark heading towards the boat's stern and ramming itself into the outboard motors and thrashing about the water. Such was the power of the shark that the boat, weighing a few tonnes easily, started shaking.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The shark attacked the boat five times, swam away and then came back for more.&nbsp;In total, the shark attacked Carl’s boat eight times."</p>

<p>After the shark had its fill and retreated,&nbsp;Jorgensen's friend brought the boat back to the shore where the extent of the damage was clearly visible. The engine suffered considerable destruction, with parts broken and ripped out, possibly by the sharp teeth of the shark. Fortunately, the engine was salvageable and only needed a few new parts for the repair job.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A construction crane in&nbsp;Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan&nbsp;caught fire and partially collapsed, creating a terrifying scene that sent 16 tonnes of concrete and debris tumbling down into the streets.&nbsp;</p>

<p>New York City authorities, as per Fox News, have urged the public to steer clear of the area to ensure their safety. The incident has left at least six people injured, including two firefighters who were responding to the scene.</p>

<h2><strong>How it unfolded</strong></h2>

<p>At around 7:25 am (local time), the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) received a report of a fire in the crane's engine compartment, situated about 45 stories high.</p>

<p>Detailing the sequence of events, FDNY First Deputy Fire Commissioner Joseph Pfeifer said, "As our fire units responded to the scene, we had a collapse," he said, adding that the top part of the crane, known as the boom, along with a 16-tonnes&nbsp;load of concrete, came crashing down to the ground.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"At that point, we had injuries to civilians and firefighters, but they were minor," added Pfeifer.</p>

<p>The sheer force of the impact reportedly resulted in a loud noise that startled bystanders, leading them to flee from the scene.</p>

<p>Reportedly, thanks to the efforts of the responders, by 9:30 am, most of the fire had been extinguished. However, around 200 first responders remain at the scene, ensuring the area is secure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Con Edison, the energy company, is on standby to cut off gas supply if necessary, as one of its main lines runs directly underneath the affected area on 10th Avenue.</p>

<p>Pfeifer told the press that despite the perilous situation, the crane operator demonstrated quick thinking by attempting to extinguish the fire. However, the intensity of the blaze forced the operator to evacuate the crane for their safety.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"So we give a lot of credit to the crane operator, but the fire overwhelmed that operator and (they) had to exit the crane."</p>

<p>New York City Mayor Eric Adams expressed relief that the injuries sustained were minor, considering the scale of the disaster.</p>

<p>"Thank God that the injuries… were minor," said Adams.&nbsp;"As you can see from the debris on the street, this could have been much worse," he added.</p>

<p>Once the fire is fully under control, authorities plan to dismantle the crane to prevent further risks. Investigations into the cause of the fire and collapse will follow as authorities seek to ensure such incidents do not recur.</p>

<p>In June 2022, she told BBC that her mother had been "in absolute agony" in her final months.</p>

<p>As per BBC, Hunter's lawyer Michael Polak, the verdict meant there was a "very good chance" his client would receive a suspended sentence and be able to return to the UK to live with his daughter.</p>

This has sparked a debate on China's "35-year-old crisis", with some labelling this discrimination towards a particular age demographic. However, others are of the opinion that this is justified. <p>In a now-viral post, a user complained that many youth hostels in the Chinese capital Beijing are refusing accommodation to customers over 35 years of age. The user alleged that he faced quite a struggle looking for hostels without such restrictions.</p>

<p>Apparently, he was informed of the age restriction over the phone and hostel owners defended this constraint, citing safety concerns.</p>

<p>Sixth Tone, which does extensive coverage of all things China, reports that a search across major online travel-based platforms reveals that many youth hostels in Beijing now impose an age restriction.</p>

<p>Reportedly, many of them have set the age requirement between 18 and 40 years. Additionally, some have raised this restriction and cater to people till the ages of 45 to 50, but many have drawn the line at 35 years.</p>

<p>And it's not just the capital Beijing. Similar restrictions are in place in other major Chinese cities, including Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Guangzhou.</p>

<p>Responding to a booking request by Sixth Tone posing as a middle-aged guest, one Beijing hotel said that the reason for their 35-year age restriction is precautionary. They claimed that they were trying to avoid conflicts between their young guests and the "old" ones and that the schedules, and living habits of the two broad age groups are different.</p>

<h2><strong>Why did a turtle need a CT scan?</strong></h2>

<p>As per Miami Herald report, Kale's journey has been challenging. In 2019, the endangered turtle was accidentally hooked by a recreational fisherman off the coast of Virginia. Virginia wildlife officials intervened to rescue the juvenile turtle, but the size of the hook required invasive surgeries to address the injury.</p>

<p>Due to complications during the healing process, Kale developed scar tissue and a fistula, a hollow space prone to infections. Consequently, he requires regular veterinarian visits and treatment.</p>

<p>The Cook Museum of Natural Science in Decatur, Alabama, took in Kale in 2020 and has been providing the necessary care for his ongoing medical issues. Recently, the museum staff decided that a CT scan was needed to assess the progress of Kale's deep shell infections.</p>

<p>As per the museum, "The CT scan is the best tool to assess the improvement of Kale’s deep infections of his shell."</p>

<h2><strong>A grumpy turtle and a CT scan</strong></h2>

<p>To address this need, they approached the radiology team at Decatur Morgan Hospital for assistance. The hospital's radiology team was up for the challenge, and Kale became their first animal patient.</p>

<p>Apparently, during the CT scan, Kale expressed his displeasure at being at the doctor's, due to which veterinarians had to hold him still during the procedure.</p>

<p>"He doesn't necessarily like that all the time, just like anybody wouldn’t want to always go to the doctor," added Worlund.</p>
