Devil Comet with horns, the colossal, cryovolcanic comet three times the size of Mount Everest, has once again experienced an explosive event as it makes its way towards our planet Earth.

Back in June of this year, a team of researchers made sensational claims about a small-brained ancient hominid known as Homo naledi. The alleged discovery by the research team led by Professor Lee Berger of the University of Witwatersrand excited the scientific community to no end.

Also read | 'Curiosity remains strong': Curiosity rover clocks 4,000 days in Mars' 'punishingly cold environment' "During this mission, 90 payloads were expected to deploy from Falcon 9 across 89 deployments, and 86 deployments have been confirmed," added the mission description on the SpaceX website. Transporter 9, as per space.com, is SpaceX's 82nd orbital mission this year. This year, the rocket maker has broken its own previous record of 61 launches — in 2022. While the mission's 90 payloads are for sure hefty, Elon Musk's company holds the record of sending 143 satellites to orbit — with its Transporter-1 mission in January 2021.
What if pizza could boost your blood circulation and nourish your body? Nothing better than that, right? But what if, the pizza in question had snakes as its topping?

In Hong Kong, the American company Pizza Hut has teamed up with Ser Wong Fun—a snake restaurant in Central Hong Kong with roots dating back more than a century (1895)—to innovate this latest "buzz-worthy" recipe.

What's in a snake pizza?

The pizza is a modern spin on a traditional snake soup dish that is popular in Hong Kong, Southern China and across other parts of Southeast Asia like Vietnam and Thailand.

It combines shredded snake meat, black mushrooms and Chinese dried hams, all of which are indispensable ingredients of Hong Kong's popular authentic snake stew.

For the snake meat, the company as per the general manager of Pizza Hut Hong Kong and Macao will use meat from multiple species including Chinese rat snakes, banded kraits, and white banded snakes.

The pizza, which is part of a marketing ploy, is a 9-inch pizza with abalone sauce. It will be on sale until November 22.

There are, of course, tonnes of amazing pizza toppings available in the market. However, snakes, which have long been a culinary delight in many Asian nations, supposedly have health benefits.

The Animal Kingdom is full of myriad mating practices, where the males of the species attempt to woo the females. We humans are hairless primates after all, and recent study has shown that our species too, in a matter of speaking, fluff out our feathers and perform a dance for the females.

As per a research article published in The Royal Society, boys in all-male choirs tend to boost their vocals when girls are in the audience.

Mating call

Researchers based their observation on a renowned boys' choir group. They noticed that the basses — the oldest boys with the deepest boys — "boosted their acoustic prominence by increasing energy in a high-frequency band of the vocal spectrum when girls were in an otherwise male audience".

The effect, as per the report, was particularly seen in the oldest boys, aged between 16 and 19.

Researchers pose that this behaviour may be similar to that observed in "non-human animals" like flashing fireflies, chorusing crickets and frogs. In such species, the "simultaneous cooperation and competition is manifest in rhythmically coordinated communal displays produced by groups of males to attract female mates," write the researchers.

They further say that such displays "can be a side effect of sexually motivated competition, whereby individual males produce earlier or more intense signals that mask rival signals."

But do the girls like it?

Apparently they do. For the purpose of this research, male and female listeners were given recordings of an all-male choir. These recordings were from shows where the audience was all male, and another where female members were in the audience.

Listeners either reported which audio they believed had this mating call behaviour, or which one they preferred. It was found that while male listeners could "eavesdrop" on the behaviour, female listeners were both sensitive to it and also displayed a preference for it.

"It's really subtle and probably something that's subconscious," said Peter Keller, one of the authors behind this research while talking to The Guardian.

"The boys' singing sounds more brilliant and has a more attractive, ringing quality when girls are in the audience, but it is subtle," said Keller, a professor of neuroscience at Aarhus University in Denmark.

Spain: Minor girls fall victim to deepfake porn, AI-generated nudes shock the nation

Donald Trump is known for his antics, and is often in the news for making fun of his competitors and the people he dislikes. The former US president has often mocked his political rival and successor, the gaffe-prone Joe Biden, for his age, among other things.

However, a series of blunders made by the eccentric businessman himself raises the question: Is Trump questioning Biden's senility just another case of pot calling the kettle black?

An oops moment

Just last month, at a campaign stop for his presidential run, Trump was seen doing an exaggerated impersonation of Joe Biden, walking around the stage with a mocking expression of confusion.

"He’s always looking around, where do I go?" he said, questioning his rival's mental fitness for holding the US presidential office.

Weeks later, CNN reports, Trump himself was caught on the mic slipping, confusing facts.

Taking the stage in Sioux City, Iowa, the former president thanked supporters for coming out to Sioux City, South Dakota, instead of Iowa.

Iowa state senator's discrete attempts to correct his blunder didn't go unnoticed, either.

The Republican frontrunner

Biden has made his fair share of gaffes. These faux pas have been repeatedly used by Republicans to raise questions about the 80-year-old's ability to serve as commander-in-chief. Booing the Democrat, they push for their own frontrunner, who, by the way, is just three years younger at 77 years.

It seems like the Republican frontrunner is suffering from the same predicament as his Democrat rival: age.

A series of blunders made by Trump could be taken as evidence that Biden and him are in the same boat.

During a summit in Washington DC, Trump said Biden could "plunge the world into World War II", a war that ended 80 years ago.

Not only that, he also confused Biden with Obama, his former rival, and said he (Trump) beat Obama in recent polls. He also repeatedly mispronounced Hamas militant group's name as Hummus, the popular Middle Eastern dip — but at least he got the region right.

Trump's loss, someone else's gain

Trump's rivals have been quick to capitalise on his errors.

Last month, Trump's rival in the presidential nomination race Ron DeSantis remarked: "This is a different Donald Trump than 2015 and 2016 — lost the zip on his fastball."

"He is wedded to the teleprompter. He can't get off that teleprompter. Anytime he does, he says things like, 'don't vote.' He's telling people not to vote, like, we have all the votes," DeSantis said while talking to reporters in New Hampshire.

What's more? DeSantis, the Florida governor, even launched a "Trump accident tracker" that is meant to highlight the former president's slip-ups, blunders and more to "remind the American people of the liability he (Trump) would be in the Oval Office".

So, how old is too old, 77 or 80 years?

During a summit in Washington DC, Trump said Biden could "plunge the world into World War II", a war that ended 80 years ago. Not only that, he also confused Biden with Obama, his former rival, and said he (Trump) beat Obama in recent polls. He also repeatedly mispronounced Hamas militant group's name as Hummus, the popular Middle Eastern dip — but at least he got the region right. Trump's loss, someone else's gain Trump's rivals have been quick to capitalise on his errors. Last month, Trump's rival in the presidential nomination race Ron DeSantis remarked: "This is a different Donald Trump than 2015 and 2016 — lost the zip on his fastball." "He is wedded to the teleprompter. (With inputs from agencies)

In the vast expanse of Utah lies the remarkable Pando, the "world's largest tree", and recent recordings have unearthed its hidden voices that resonate through the ground as a million leaves quiver with the wind, providing insights into its enduring existence.

What is Pando?

Pando is a singular quaking aspen with a colossal root system that has birthed an entire forest — 47,000 stems over a sprawling 100-acre landscape.

Aptly named Pando or "I spread" in Latin, this ancient male quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides) has silently flourished for an estimated 12,000 years, its towering tree-like stems reaching heights of up to 24 meters (80 feet).

Ancient organism Pando's haunting voice

Sound artist Jeff Rice, in his experimental pursuit, ingeniously positioned a hydrophone within a hollow at the tree's base, unravelling the hidden symphony within its roots, reports Live Science.

The device captured an enchanting chorus of vibrations reverberating through the branches and penetrating the earth. It even magnifies the faintest sound during a thunderstorm, as reported by The Guardian.

"Hydrophones don't just need water to work," said Rice.

"They can pick up vibrations from surfaces like roots as well, and when I put on my headphones, I was instantly surprised. Something was happening. There was a faint sound."

Through these captivating recordings, the interconnectedness of Pando's root system became evident, providing a glimpse into the mysteries of this enigmatic, natural wonder.

'I desire to serve you': Extraordinary declaration of love recovered from an ordinary field in England

An England-based private boarding school has appointed a 'unique' headmaster — an AI robot named Abigail Bailey.

Will the AI headmaster take precedence over human teachers?

No. Talking to Telegraph, Rogerson said that having the robot around doesn't mean you don't ever seek counsel from humans.

He said, "Sometimes having someone or something there to help you is a very calming influence."

As per the 'human' headmaster, the school has the highest number of teachers in its 130-year history and the robot will not replace human teachers.

Abigail Bailey works similarly to the popular AI-based chatbot ChatGPT — users type questions and the AI answers using its algorithm.

Not only this, Cottesmore has another AI based robot among its staff. The robot called Jamie Rainer is "a highly trained adviser on generative AI" and has been hired to help embed technology into the curriculum and advise teachers on reducing their workload.

No. Talking to Telegraph, Rogerson said that having the robot around doesn't mean you don't ever seek counsel from humans. He said, "Sometimes having someone or something there to help you is a very calming influence." As per the 'human' headmaster, the school has the highest number of teachers in its 130-year history and the robot will not replace human teachers. However, he clarified, "It doesn't mean you don't ever also seek counsel from humans. Of course you do. It's just very calming and reassuring knowing that you don't have to call anybody up, bother someone, you don't have to wait around for an answer." "Being a school leader, a headmaster, is a very lonely job. Of course, we have head teacher’s groups...but just having somebody or something on tap that can help you in this lonely place is very reassuring," he added. How will the AI headmaster work? Abigail Bailey works similarly to the popular AI-based chatbot ChatGPT — users type questions and the AI answers using its algorithm. Not only this, Cottesmore has another AI based robot among its staff. The robot called Jamie Rainer is "a highly trained adviser on generative AI" and has been hired to help embed technology into the curriculum and advise teachers on reducing their workload.
Will being in a relationship turn me into Tom Cruise?

Well, no. Being in a relationship will not turn you into Tom Cruise (or the hottest man you can think of), but it is an undeniable fact that women do tend to "help" or push their partners into dressing better.

One user @velveteenrabbit, in a now viral video, explained that women unintentionally risked "overhauling their boyfriends and completely redesigning them".

From sloppy to stylish: TikTok's 'girlfriend effect' show women really make men look hotter

A now-viral video has exposed a startling incident from Houston, Texas, where a drive-thru employee fired at a customer for complaining about missing curly fries.

The incident happened way back in March 2021, at a Jack-in-the-box outlet. However, it has made the headlines now as the customers file a lawsuit against the fast-food chain after their attorney obtained the video through a discovery request. The lawsuit, as per ABC7 Chicago, seeks damages of at least $250,000.

Scary combo: Fries and gunshots

As per the lawsuit, Anthony Ramos, a Florida resident, was working in Houston when he went on an outing with his pregnant wife and their 6-year-old daughter.

The family went to the Jack-in-the-Box near Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport, where they ordered a combo meal.

However, what should have been a routine fast-food run took a dramatic turn when, after a 15-minute wait, the Ramos family found themselves speeding away from the drive-thru under gunfire.

The lawsuit states they paid $12.99 for a combo meal but did not receive the curly fries they had ordered, sparking a heated argument.

The Ramos family initiated the lawsuit in 2022. Initially, Ford was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of deadly conduct and received a sentence of one year deferred adjudication, which she successfully completed in June, according to court records.

Curly fries with side of gunfire: Drive-thru employee shoots at customers over missing fries

A family picnic in Mexico was interrupted by a hungry bear after it swiftly approached their table and ate all their food at Chipinque Ecological Park.

A video of the incident that went viral on Tuesday (Sept 27) purportedly showed the black bear munching on their enchiladas, salsa, tacos and French fries, while a woman and her child sat silently, seemingly terrified of the animal’s presence.

The clip further goes on to show the woman shielding her kid’s face as they both sit perfectly still, while another person (unsuccessfully) tries to attract the bear's attention.

After finishing its meal, the animal sets off, apparently unaware of the fear it has caused.

According to AP news agency, the woman in the video is Silvia Macía who travelled to the park to celebrate her son Santiago’s 15th birthday, who has Down syndrome.

“Santiago is very afraid of animals, a cat or a dog, any animal scares him a lot,” she was quoted as saying.

Florida is notorious for the weirdest news stories, particularly those involving animals. In the latest one, a woman from the US state "borrowed" an alligator from her previous work place. She was apparently planning on having a photoshoot with the reptile.

The woman, who has been identified as Madison Stephan, actually abducted the alligator from Croc Encounters, a reptile park and alligator farm, based in Tampa, Florida.
