"I think the toss did play a crucial role, we were lagging behind. It was 30-70 percent of advantage/disadvantage. After 30-40 overs, we were ahead. Batting first, 250 was a very good total," Gaikwad said after the match.

Bowling wicket-to-wicket, Jani cleaned up Nawale and Hangargekar and then sealed his hat-trick, trapping Vicky Ostwal plumb in front. Earlier, Gaikwad had scored a majestic 149-ball 220 not out in the quarter-final and went on to slam a 126-ball 168 in the semi-finals. Shaw registered his fourth century in the tournament after hammering 105* and 227* in the league stage followed by 185* off 123 deliveries in the quarter-final against Saurashtra. His 227-run knock against Puducherry&nbsp;was his maiden List-A century which also is the highest scorer in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.&nbsp;

The youngster is currently leading the run-scoring charts in the tournament with a staggering 754 runs at an average of 251.33 and a strike-rate of 135.12 in seven matches.&nbsp;&nbsp;
