<p>KL Rahul scored a sublime 75 not out in India's first ODI win versus Australia at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on March 17 (Friday). After a forgettable run in the Border-Gavaskar Test series, Rahul's return to form led to a sigh of relief for his supporters. In the recent past, a lot has been said and written on Rahul's form.</p>

<p>The former Indian vice-captain Rahul has been a part of international cricket since late 2014 and despite his occasional brilliance, the right-hander has still not been able to remain as consistent as he would have liked. Thus, it has led to severe criticism with former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad being quite vocal about Rahul's inconsistency. During the India-Australia Tests, Prasad's rant on Rahul went viral on Twitter and he also got engaged in a verbal spat with former Indian opener Aakash Chopra.</p>

<p>Recently, Prasad opened up on his criticism&nbsp;and said that 'it is&nbsp;not that I've only spoken about&nbsp;Rahul'.</p>

<p><strong>'Few people have taken it very seriously and few have criticised'</strong></p>

I even expressed my opinion over Sarfaraz Ahmed as well who has been performing brilliantly. I have made sure that I didn't cross the line, as simple as that. Few people have taken it very seriously and few have criticised," Prasad told CNN News 18.</p>

<p>MS Dhoni remains a big name in world cricket. The former Indian captain retired in mid-2020 with 17,266 runs, 16 tons, 634 catches, 195 stumpings and leading India to all three major ICC titles. Dhoni created a huge stir in world cricket by keeping a check on his emotions on the field and being&nbsp;a shrewd tactician. He&nbsp;became a household name back in his early days due to his power-hitting, finishing skills and smart glovework.&nbsp;</p>

<p>While Dhoni earned a plethora of fans due to his various skills and talents on the field, the former keeper-batter has always been a private person off the 22-yard cricket strip. The former Indian captain has hardly been active on social media platforms. However, he used to be a bit more active, than current times, in 2011-2012.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 2012, Dhoni hilariously&nbsp;replied to a user who had advised him&nbsp;to concentrate on his batting and not be active on Twitter. In July 2012, ahead of India's&nbsp;tour of Sri Lanka, the then national team captain&nbsp;Dhoni shared a tweet. We're working on this now and will share an update when it's fixed.” Owner Musk tweeted, "This platform is so brittle (sigh). Will be fixed shortly." Netizens share memes mocking Elon Musk Soon after, netizens flooded Twitter with memes mocking Elon Musk for the technical glitch. “Links don't work on Twitter right now, which is so strange because Elon Musk had that meeting about being super good at doing computer code and he had all kinds of arrows and flowcharts on white boards and everything", a user said. WATCH | Twitter unable to protect users from trolling : Report “Did Elon just break all links on Twitter…”, another user tweeted. “Twitter's own website is rejecting native API calls. things are going great under Elon,” posted a user. In recent weeks, Twitter has been changing its API so as to generate more money, as per the reports. Turkish competition board to fine Elon Musk 0.1% of Twitter's gross income in Turkey, here's why

<p>Twitter chief Elon Musk, on early Sunday (March 6) confirmed that users on the microblogging platform can send “longform tweets” with up to 10,000 characters. While responding to a user’s question, Musk also said that the feature would be rolled out “soon” without giving any specific timeline.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The announcement was made after Youtuber and Twitter user @ThePrimeagen asked Musk, “The dev community and I were wondering if you could add code blocks to tweets?” To which the microblogging platform’s CEO said, “As an attachment? How many chars? We are extending longform tweets to 10k soon.” As of now, a regular Twitter user is allowed to post tweets with only 280 characters.&nbsp;</p>

Twitter will ‘soon’ allow users to post tweets with 10,000 characters, says Elon Musk

A media report has emerged which claims that the social media giant can no longer protect its users from trolling, state-coordinated disinformation and child sexual exploitation. It has claimed that this inability is the result of massive layoffs and policy changes brought by the new owner - Elon Musk.

Jack Dorsey's Bluesky, a Twitter alternative, debuts on Apple App Store

<p>Twitter employees have lambasted the tech company after the <strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/technology/twitter-job-cut-latest-mass-layoff-sees-200-employees-fired-says-report-566199">fresh round of job cuts</a></strong>. The New York Times reported on Sunday that the social media giant has laid off at least 200 employees, or 10 per cent of its workforce. Reports have mentioned that Twitter now has around 2,000 employees,&nbsp;down from 7,500 when Elon Musk took over.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The report mentioned that the latest layoffs include product managers, big data experts and engineers working on machine learning and platform reliability.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Media reports mentioned that some of the employees received an email regarding the layoff late Saturday night. Some found out about the firing when they could not log into the company's internal system. However, Twitter did not immediately confirm the reports.&nbsp;</p>

Twitter employees have lambasted the tech company after the fresh round of job cuts. The New York Times reported on Sunday that the social media giant has laid off at least 200 employees, or 10 per cent of its workforce. Reports have mentioned that Twitter now has around 2,000 employees, down from 7,500 when Elon Musk took over. The report mentioned that the latest layoffs include product managers, big data experts and engineers working on machine learning and platform reliability. Media reports mentioned that some of the employees received an email regarding the layoff late Saturday night. Some found out about the firing when they could not log into the company's internal system. However, Twitter did not immediately confirm the reports. Angry Twitter employee says 'hard work was a mistake' after fresh round of jobs cuts

<p>Elon Musk owned social media giant Twitter has again opted&nbsp;for mass layoffs. As per a report in The New York Times (NYT), Twitter has axed jobs of at least 200 employees. This comes to about 10 per cent of around 2000 employees who were working for the micro-blogging platform before the latest round job cuts. NYT has quoted unnamed sources to report the development. Twitter has fired people in multiple rounds of mass layoffs since October 2022 when Elon Musk took over the company.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The latest round of layoffs has come a week after Twitter reportedly made it difficult for its&nbsp;employees to communicate with each other. Slack, the internal messaging platform that Twitter used was taken offline.</p>

<p>Twitter has appeared to struggle since its takeover by Musk. Musk acquired the company for $44 billion. The billionaire, who is perceived by many to subscribe to opinions leaning towards the political right, has attempted to cut costs by way of mass layoffs. Morning news brief: Twitter fires 200, James Bond books edited and more

Twitter has reportedly laid off about 10 per cent of its remaining workforce, or at least 200 employees. The move comes as part of Elon Musk's ongoing effort to reduce costs since acquiring the social media platform in October.

Twitter reportedly fires 200 employees in fresh round of job cuts

The report in the U.S. technology focused publication early on Sunday, citing people with direct knowledge of the matter, said that the job cuts affected multiple engineering teams, including those supporting advertising technology, the primary Twitter app, as well as technical infrastructure to keep Twitter's systems up and running.

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and Twitter, expressed his opinions without presenting any evidence on Sunday, accusing "the media" and "top colleges and high schools" of being "racist" towards white and Asian people.

Did Musk fire Twitter's democracy, national security, & rights policy lead?

<p>An Australian regulator that has already put pressure on other global tech firms has now sent legal letters to Twitter and Google asking&nbsp;them to hand over information about their efforts to stop 'online child abuse.'</p>

<p>The move by the country's e-safety commissioner keeps a spotlight on the anti-exploitation practices at 'Twitter' under the new ownership of Tesla CEO&nbsp;Elon Musk, who called 'child protection,' his top priority.</p>

<p>Referring to Musk's tweets, e-safety commissioner Julie Inman Grant told Reuters, "with Elon Musk declaring child sexual abuse a top priority, this is an opportunity for him to explain what he is indeed doing."</p>

<p>Grant, who earlier had served as the&nbsp;public policy director for the microblogging site&nbsp;until 2016, said the responses from larger tech firms, coupled with reports of loose&nbsp;content moderation at Twitter since Musk took over, prompted her to take this action.</p>

<p>Responding to the letter, Google's senior manager of government affairs and public policy Samantha Yorke said, "we utilise a range of industry standard scanning techniques including hash-matching technology and artificial intelligence to identify and remove (child abuse material) that has been uploaded to our services."</p>

<p>The US Supreme Court has accused microblogging platform Twitter of 'aiding' and 'abetting' terrorism by allowing radical Islamic outfits like ISIS to use the platform.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hearing the Twitter v Taamneh case, Justice Amy Coney Barrett on the bench posed a pointed question to Twitter's attorney Seth Waxman.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"You know ISIS is using it, you know ISIS is going to be doing bad things, you know ISIS is going to be committing acts of terrorism," said Barrett, adding that aiding ISIS "is aiding the commission of particular acts in the future."</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Justice Sonia Sotomayor added, "You knew that ISIS was using your platform. But on substantiality, there’s a question of how much it helped ISIS, which is different from how much you helped them."</p>

<p>The case was brought in by the family of Nawras Alassaf, a Jordanian citizen who was killed in a shooting incident in Istanbul, Turkey on January 1, 2017.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Alassaf's family filed a lawsuit claiming Twitter, Google and Facebook were liable for aiding and abetting attack under the federal law called 'Anti-Terrorism Act'.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Twitter, however, insists that it is not enough to know that terrorist outfit is using the platform as even they can use Twitter to engage in non-criminal activities.&nbsp;</p>

The US Supreme Court has accused microblogging platform Twitter of 'aiding' and 'abetting' terrorism by allowing radical Islamic outfits like ISIS to use the platform.

The US Supreme Court has accused microblogging platform Twitter of 'aiding' and 'abetting' terrorism by allowing radical Islamic outfits like ISIS to use the platform. Hearing the Twitter v Taamneh case, Justice Amy Coney Barrett on the bench posed a pointed question to Twitter's attorney Seth Waxman. "You know ISIS is using it, you know ISIS is going to be doing bad things, you know ISIS is going to be committing acts of terrorism," said Barrett, adding that aiding ISIS "is aiding the commission of particular acts in the future." Meanwhile, Justice Sonia Sotomayor added, "You knew that ISIS was using your platform. But on substantiality, there’s a question of how much it helped ISIS, which is different from how much you helped them." The case was brought in by the family of Nawras Alassaf, a Jordanian citizen who was killed in a shooting incident in Istanbul, Turkey on January 1, 2017. Read more: Is more trouble brewing? Big tech firms back Google in a key lawsuit Alassaf's family filed a lawsuit claiming Twitter, Google and Facebook were liable for aiding and abetting attack under the federal law called 'Anti-Terrorism Act'. Twitter, however, insists that it is not enough to know that terrorist outfit is using the platform as even they can use Twitter to engage in non-criminal activities. The platform further argued that just because its platform is used by tens of millions of users worldwide does not prove that it provided 'assistance' to terrorist groups. "As a matter of law, a court should conclude …that the failure to do more to remove content in the context of a service that is generally and widely provided to anybody who complies with the policies … does not amount to the knowing provision of substantial assistance," argued Waxman.
