<p>Gilbert Gottfried, a stand-up comic with a screwy voice and a penchant for pushing boundaries with jokes about the Sept. 11 attacks and the Japanese tsunami, has died at age 67, his family said on Tuesday.<br />
<br />
Gottfried, a former cast member on NBC`s 'Saturday Night Live'&nbsp;and the voice of a sarcastic parrot in the animated Disney film 'Aladdin,'&nbsp;suffered a long, unspecified illness, the family statement said.<br />
<br />
"In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children," the statement said. "Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert`s honor."</p>

<br />
Born in Brooklyn, and rising up through the New York City stand-up scene, Gottfried was known for edgy comedy that made some people squirm.<br />
Two weeks after the attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people in 2001, Gottfried joked about it during a roast of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, saying he could not book a direct flight from New York to California.<br />
<br />
"They said they have to stop at the Empire State Building first," Gottfried said, drawing laughs and moans of "too soon."<br />
Reflecting on the moment later, Gottfried said in a television interview, "That`s the way my mind works. I wanted to basically address the elephant in the room."</p>

<p>That style of humour also cost him a lucrative role as the Aflac duck in television commercials for the insurer, which severed ties with Gottfried after he made a series of jokes on Twitter about the 2011 earthquake and tsunami that killed 18,000 people in Japan.<br />
<br />
"I love to go where it`s a dark area. You never know what people will choose to be offended by," Gottfried told The New York Times in 2013.<br />
Tributes poured in from other comic actors.</p>

Seth MacFarlane, creator of the animated series 'Family Guy'&nbsp;and director of the comedy film "A Million Ways to Die in the West," said Gottfried`s outrageous send-up of Abraham Lincoln`s Gettysburg address in that movie made him laugh so hard on set that "I could barely do my job."<br />
"A wholly original comic, and an equally kind and humble guy behind the scenes," MacFarlane said on Twitter. "He will be missed."<br />
<br />
Jason Alexander, who played George on the television comedy "Seinfeld," said on Twitter, "Gilbert Gottfried made me laugh at times when laughter did not come easily. What a gift."<br />
<br />
One of Gottfried`s best-known movie roles was as the voice of Iago, the loud-mouthed, sarcastic talking parrot of the evil Jafar in Disney`s 1992 animated film hit 'Aladdin.'<br />
<br />
He also reached what would normally be considered the pinnacle for American comic actors by getting named to the cast of 'Saturday Night Live'&nbsp;in 1980, but the new cast was poorly received, having replaced highly popular players such as John Belushi, Gilda Radner and Bill Murray.<br />
<br />
Gottfried said he could not enjoy the experience, telling interviewer Joe Rogan last year that he felt like a "sacrificial lamb."<br />
"You don`t want to be the replacement," Gottfried said. "You want to be the replacement of the replacement."</p>

<p>China censoring movies and regulating content is something that is not new to the world. Warner Bros has recently chopped off&nbsp;a few scenes from the 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore' after receiving a request from China.&nbsp;<br />

The six-second scene that has been removed&nbsp;from the movie talks about a gay relationship. 'Fantastic Beasts&nbsp;3', which was released in cinemas in China on April 8, talks about&nbsp;Albus Dumbledore and his affair&nbsp;with villainous wizard Gellert Grindelwald.<br />

This is the first film in the Harry Potter franchise which&nbsp;has openly revealed Dumbledore's sexuality. The lines that have been cut out are “I was in love with you” and “the summer Gellert and I fell in love”.</p>

We want audiences everywhere in the world to see and enjoy this film, and it’s important to us that Chinese audiences have the opportunity to experience it as well, even with these minor edits.”<br />

This can impact change for all of us. It’s about hard of hearing and hearing characters coming together. It’s a part of history,'' he added further.

<p>The verse by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage was posted on the royal family's social media channels a year after the Duke of Edinburgh died in his sleep at Windsor Castle, west of London, aged 99.</p>

April 7th is celebrated as World Health Day all around the world. This special day is to create global health awareness and marks the founding of the World Health Organization. When it comes to health and fitness, celebrities never fail to motivate their fans to take up a healthy lifestyle. They inspire us to stay fit, not just physically but also mentally. Here's a list of five celebs who have recently turned fitter and in turn have been inspiring us. 1. Richa Chadha: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Richa Chadha (@therichachadha) × Recently, Richa Chadha has been quite in the news for her rigorous workout videos. In fact, she stunned everyone with her most recent weight loss pictures that she shared on her social media. Richa propagates healthy weight loss and speaks a lot about the fads and myths surrounding losing weight and her profile is always an air of freshness and truth amidst the constructed lies surrounding the market, which is a plain inspiration to many! 2. Rajkummar Rao: View this post on Instagram A post shared by RajKummar Rao (@rajkummar_rao) × Rajkummar believes in preparing his body for each and every that he takes up, hence he went ‘Eat. Sleep. Lift. Repeat’ for his parts in 'Chhalaang' and most recently 'Badhaai Do', both of which required him to be in a good shape physically. His Instagram suggests that the actor believes more in outdoor working out sessions like swimming, sports, and anything that can be done on a piece of grass in the form of stretching. Working out in the open keeps the body athletic and increases stamina more than performing the same task inside a gymnasium, and his style of keeping his exercises and workouts natural is nothing short of motivation to many! 3. Emraan Hashmi: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Emraan Hashmi (@therealemraan) × Emraan Hashmi has joined the gang of ripped Bollywood hunks lately. Ahead of his role in the third installment of YRF's super successful tiger franchise, the actor has been on a rigorous workout schedule. He has often shared his weekly workout plan and diet charts on his Instagram handle and it is a thorough mix of strength, endurance, and cardio training. This serves as a good motivation for all his fans! 4. Sanya Malhotra: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sanya Malhotra💥 (@sanyamalhotra_) × We all know Sanya Malhotra is a pro at keeping fit. Even before she started her Bollywood career, she was often spotted by the paparazzi out and about going to the gym, even if that was for her physically demanding role in the all-time Bollywood blockbuster, 'Dangal'. There are a lot of videos on social media where she can be seen practising swift moves and intense push-ups, giving us total goals. She spends a lot of time sweating it out in the gym. After all, one needs to work harder and longer to maintain the body which everybody admires. 5. Adarsh Gourav: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Adarsh Gourav (@gouravadarsh) × Adarsh Gourav rose to fame with the Netflix original film, 'The White Tiger' co-starring Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao. He has ever since been in the news for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and inspiring everyone around while he is at it. What a night! From electrifying performances to soulful tributes: Best moments from Grammys 2022

<p>The music world's A-listers will hit Las Vegas on Sunday for the Grammy Awards, where pop's chart-toppers along with jazzman Jon Batiste will compete for the industry's most coveted trophies.</p>

<p>The US gambling capital is hosting the ceremony for the first time ever, after organizers postponed the original January 31 event over a surge in Covid-19 cases and then moved it out of Los Angeles.</p>

<p>The timing of the Grammys just one week after Will Smith stunned the world by slapping Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars adds an extra layer of unpredictability to what is already usually one of the more bizarre nights on the showbiz awards circuit.</p>

<p>Justin Bieber will vie for eight trophies at the ceremony hosted by late-night television personality Trevor Noah, as will R&amp;B favourite H.E.R. and singer-rapper Doja Cat.</p>

<p>Grammys darling Billie Eilish is in the running for seven prizes. The same holds true for Olivia Rodrigo, a former Disney channel actress who exploded onto the pop scene last year with her breakout smash hit "drivers license."</p>

<p>The 19-year-old Rodrigo landed expected nods for her much-touted debut album "Sour," and is a near shoo-in for the Best New Artist prize -- she is up against Eilish's brother Finneas, rapper Saweetie and experimental pop act Japanese Breakfast, among others.</p>

<p>Like Eilish in 2020, Rodrigo has the opportunity to sweep the top four categories on the same night, which would make her only the third artist to do so. The first was singer-songwriter Christopher Cross.&nbsp;</p>

<p>But it is Jon Batiste -- the jazz and R&amp;B artist and bandleader, who won an Oscar last year for his soundtrack to the Pixar animated movie "Soul" -- who has the most chances at Grammys gold, snagging 11 nominations including in two top categories.</p>

<p>The artist born into a prominent New Orleans musical dynasty will compete mainly on the strength of his album "We Are" and its rousing single "Freedom."</p>

<p>The sleeper nominations leader is up for awards in fields spanning genre and medium, including R&amp;B, jazz, American roots and contemporary classical, along with nods for Best Music Video and his composition work on "Soul."</p>

<p>He appeared briefly on the red carpet at a pre-Grammy gala Friday, hamming it up for photographers before telling AFP he was feeling "great" ahead of Sunday's awards.</p>

<p>"I'm so happy," he said with a loud whoop. "My granddad came to town!"</p>

<p>&nbsp;Recognition across the board -</p>

<p>The Grammys field is wide open -- especially after the Recording Academy expanded the top four categories yet again, this time to include 10 nominees, in a bid to improve diversity.</p>

<p>"I guess in this instance, expansion of the categories does mean more women, more marginalized people getting recognized," said Brandi Carlile, who is up this year for five gramophones.</p>

The music world's A-listers will hit Las Vegas on Sunday for the Grammy Awards, where pop's chart-toppers along with jazzman Jon Batiste will compete for the industry's most coveted trophies. The US gambling capital is hosting the ceremony for the first time ever, after organizers postponed the original January 31 event over a surge in Covid-19 cases and then moved it out of Los Angeles. The timing of the Grammys just one week after Will Smith stunned the world by slapping Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars adds an extra layer of unpredictability to what is already usually one of the more bizarre nights on the showbiz awards circuit. Justin Bieber will vie for eight trophies at the ceremony hosted by late-night television personality Trevor Noah, as will R&B favourite H.E.R. and singer-rapper Doja Cat. Grammys darling Billie Eilish is in the running for seven prizes. The same holds true for Olivia Rodrigo, a former Disney channel actress who exploded onto the pop scene last year with her breakout smash hit "drivers license." The 19-year-old Rodrigo landed expected nods for her much-touted debut album "Sour," and is a near shoo-in for the Best New Artist prize -- she is up against Eilish's brother Finneas, rapper Saweetie and experimental pop act Japanese Breakfast, among others. Like Eilish in 2020, Rodrigo has the opportunity to sweep the top four categories on the same night, which would make her only the third artist to do so. The first was singer-songwriter Christopher Cross. But it is Jon Batiste -- the jazz and R&B artist and bandleader, who won an Oscar last year for his soundtrack to the Pixar animated movie "Soul" -- who has the most chances at Grammys gold, snagging 11 nominations including in two top categories. The artist born into a prominent New Orleans musical dynasty will compete mainly on the strength of his album "We Are" and its rousing single "Freedom." The sleeper nominations leader is up for awards in fields spanning genre and medium, including R&B, jazz, American roots and contemporary classical, along with nods for Best Music Video and his composition work on "Soul." He appeared briefly on the red carpet at a pre-Grammy gala Friday, hamming it up for photographers before telling AFP he was feeling "great" ahead of Sunday's awards. "I'm so happy," he said with a loud whoop. "My granddad came to town!" Recognition across the board - The Grammys field is wide open -- especially after the Recording Academy expanded the top four categories yet again, this time to include 10 nominees, in a bid to improve diversity. "I guess in this instance, expansion of the categories does mean more women, more marginalized people getting recognized," said Brandi Carlile, who is up this year for five gramophones. "Some things improve in certain areas, they slip in other places," she told AFP, but added: "I'm watching it change and evolve and get better every year, and I'm heartened by it." The expansion has also resulted in one of the most eclectic crops of Best New Artist nominees in recent memory, even if Rodrigo is widely tipped to win. "Pop just has a bigger footprint, but I love that they're diving into other genres," country singer Jimmie Allen, a nominee in the category, told AFP. "Win or lose, I'm just happy to be nominated." Angelique Kidjo, who has four past Grammys under her belt and has three chances to win this year in the global performance categories, said the Recording Academy had made strides in recent years but that there was a "long road" ahead.
