A portrait of actress Marilyn Monroe by 1960s pop icon Andy Warhol will go up for auction in May with an estimated value of $200 million, which would set a record, Christie`s announced on Monday.

The work, 'Shot Sage Blue Marilyn,' "is poised to be the most expensive painting of the 20th century ever sold at auction," said Alex Rotter, Christie`s chairman of 20th and 21st-century art.

The 1964 likeness of Monroe's face screen-printed with bright yellow hair, a pink face and light blue eyeshadow, is one of five paintings Warhol made of Monroe.

Warhol "used a screening technique on these paintings, on this painting, that he never used again. It was way too complicated, way too involved," said Rotter.

The work comes from the Thomas and Doris Ammann Foundation in Zurich. All the proceeds of the sale will benefit the foundation, which is dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world.
"The sale of this single painting will constitute the highest grossing philanthropic auction since the collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller in 2018," said Christie`s American Chairman Marc Porter.
Christie`s says the highest price paid for a Warhol was for the painting "Silver Car Crash (Double Disaster)," which sold for $105 million in 2013.

Demi Moore celebrates ex-husband Bruce Willis' birthday with a sweet post on Instagram The work comes from the Thomas and Doris Ammann Foundation in Zurich.

Kanye West has been in the news lately for his ongoing social media drama and now, the rapper has been barred from performing at the Grammy Awards due to his online behaviour. According to sources close to the rapper, his team received a phone, informing him that he had been “unfortunately” removed from the lineup of performers for the show due to his ''concerning online behaviour''. Kanye West banned from performing at Grammys 2022: Reports

Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' has been in the spotlight ever since its release.

The movie has courted yet another controversy, not in India, but in New Zealand. Now, the country's chief censor is reviewing the film's classification after concerns were raised by the Muslim community ahead of the movie's release on March 24.

On Saturday, New Zealand outlet Stuff reported that the country's chief censor David Shanks is reviewing the film's R16 classification after concerns were raised.

'Bachchan Pandey' box office: Akshay Kumar's movie shows steady growth

According to New Zealand's Classification Office, an R16 certificate mandates that a film cannot be viewed by children below 16 without adult supervision.

However, Shanks told the outlet that the action does not mean the film is being banned in the country.

He added that the members of the Muslim community had approached him with concerns the film "could raise anti-Muslim sentiment and potential hatred”.

Shanks revealed that the situation was "complex" as the concerns of the community pertained to "behaviours on and offline in relation to the film, rather than the content of the film itself".

'Jalsa' movie review: Vidya Balan, Shefali Shah are phenomenal in this gripping drama

The concerns raised were valid and serious, so it was important to “take stock and pause”, he added. Shanks said that the film's initial classification had been issued without the knowledge of these concerns.

Winston Peters, the country's former deputy prime minister and leader of the political party New Zealand First has criticised the step.

In a Facebook post, titled The Kashmir Files Censored: Another Attack on the Freedom of New Zealanders, Peters said, "To censor this film is tantamount to censoring information or images from the March 15th atrocities in New Zealand, or for that matter removing from public knowledge all images of the attack on 9/11."

He was referring to the 2019 Christchurch mosque shootings in which a single gunman killed 51 people and injured 40.

"Mainstream Muslims have both in this country and around the world readily and rightly denounced all forms of terrorism on the basis that committing violence in the name of Islam is not Muslim.''

"Neither should steps taken against Islamophobia mistakenly lead to the shielding of terrorists in the name of Islam," Peters wrote.
He further said that terrorism in all its forms, no matter what its source, should be "exposed and opposed".

"This attempt at selective censorship would amount to one further attack on the freedom of New Zealanders and people worldwide," he added.

The film starring Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty has been gaining a lot of attention from the audience ever since the movie was released in
theatres.
Today, when I look back at our journey so far, I`m deeply proud of what we have created and the disruption that we have managed to achieve," the statement read.
She further noted, "While CSF started with my vision to change the narrative of what commercial projects should be like, I have to credit Karnesh who has excelled in shaping what CSF has become today. Being a new mother who has chosen to be an actor by profession, I have to balance my life in an entirely new fashion like never before. 'Terminator' star Arnold Schwarzenegger appealed to Vladimir Putin on Thursday to end the "senseless" war in Ukraine and praised Russians protesting the conflict as his "new heroes." "Ukraine did not start this war," the former California governor said in an emotional message to the people of Russia and Russian troops posted to his Twitter account and other platforms. "I'm speaking to you today because there are things going on in the world that are being kept from you, terrible things that you should know about," he said in the powerful nine-minute video that was subtitled in Russian. The Austrian-born former bodybuilding champion, whose film 'Red Heat' was the first American movie filmed in Moscow's Red Square, spoke of his affection for the Russian people and meeting his idol, Russian weightlifter Yuri Vlasov, when he was 14 years old. "The strength and the heart of the Russian people have always inspired me," he said. "That is why I hope that you will let me tell you the truth about the war in Ukraine." "I know that your government has told you that this is a war to 'de-Nazify' Ukraine," he said. "This is not true. Those in power in the Kremlin started this war. This is not the Russian people's war." Schwarzenegger said "the world has turned against Russia because of its actions in Ukraine -- whole city blocks have been flattened by Russian artillery and bombs, including a children's hospital and a maternity hospital.
It's that time of the year when people slip into their most comfortable white clothes and step out of homes to splash vibrant colours on their loved ones and binge on scrumptious gujiyas. However, no Holi celebrations are complete without dancing to evergreen Bollywood songs.

Here are a few Holi special tracks that you must add to your festive playlist.

From Rekha to Deepika Padukone, six iconic Holi outfits from Bollywood movies
Rang Barse Bheege Chunar Wali Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is well known for his deep majestic baritone voice. Apart from dialogues, he has also lent his unique voice to several songs, one of them being `Rang Barse` from the 1981 released film `Silsila`. It`s been over 40 years since the song was released and to date `Rang Barse` is a Holi favourite.

All credits go to Big B`s late father and legendary poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan for penning the cheerful lyrics revolving around the festival of colours. Rekha, Big B, Jaya Bachchan, and late Sanjeev Kumar`s presence in the song`s music video makes `Rang Barse` even more special.

'Holi Ke Din' Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar is no more but her immortal voice definitely lifts up the mood for festivals or any other important occasion. Kudos to her and late Kishore Kumar for giving us `Holi Ke Din` song from the movie `Sholay` (1975).

Actors Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Dharmendra beautifully lip-synced to Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar`s magical voice, rendering the song a super-duper hit that has stood the test of time.

'Holi Khele Raghuveera' lyricist Sameer brought out his best lyrics for this rustic Holi song `Holi Khele Raghuveera` from the movie `Baghban`, which features none other than Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in the lead roles. Big B lent his voice to this Holi song as well. Adding more colours to the song, the makers complemented Big B`s voice by the vocals of Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Sukhwinder Singh.

'Do Me A Favour Let`s Play Holi' If Anu Malik is there, then one can definitely expect a fun peppy song coming from him. His Holi number `Do Me A Favour` is no different. The fast-paced track portrays the fun side of celebrating Holi. A playful Akshay Kumar sharing the screen with Priyanka Chopra in a traditional avatar makes this song more watchable.

'Balam Pichkari' Holi playlist is incomplete without listening to the new age Holi song `Balam Pichkari` from Ayan Mukerji`s directorial `Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani`. The track, which was picturised on Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, is a youth favourite. Don`t forget to elevate your Holi celebrations by adding Bollywood tadka to your music playlist. Happy Holi 2022.

Starring Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi

Directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri

Rating: ***

'The Kashmir Files' hits home. It is an angry indignant film, sometimes choking on its own bile while going that extra mile to target the vile, at other times failing to differentiate historical fact from the dramatic interpretation of it (more about that later).

It’s impossible to tell what Agnihotri is more angry about: The actual genocide (genocide, not an exodus, we are told repeatedly) or the whitewashing-subversion of it by the architects of Indian history.

'The Kashmir Files' Twitter Review: Netizens call it a heart-wrenching story that everyone should watch

Why is it that so much literature is available on the Jew holocaust and not the Kashmiri Pandits' genocide? Director Vivek Agnihotri loves a solid conspiracy theory. He sank his teeth in one earlier in The Taskent Files, purporting to solve the mystery of the sudden death of Lal Bahadur Shastri during a visit to Taskent.

That film was the sleeper hit of 2019. To call 'The Kashmir Files' a sleeper hit would be inappropriate, politically and otherwise. The growing impact of the film indicates a movement rather than a freak occurrence. The narrative moving back and forth in a heaving lurching motion leaves us 'see' sick.

Besides this film is too much a wake-up call to be a ‘sleeper’ or otherwise. Agnihotri spares us none of the brutality that the Pandits faced as they were told to vacate their homes overnight. Convert, Die or Leave became the slogan for the pandemic pre-planned pogrom. What the militants’ massacre aimed at was no less than a cultural cleansing. Another slogan heard repeatedly in the deafeningly defiant drama is, ‘Without Hindu Men, With Hindu Women’ which sorrily meant that the bestial jihadis wanted to kill the males and impregnate the women.

It’s a vile deplorable thought, which any rational mind would reject. Agnihotri recreates the sheer madness and monstrosity of that period, not letting go of a single opportunity to use the sledgehammer effect.

In one early sequence, a little girl hands over a rose to an Indian army officer who, seconds later is ambushed and gunned down by bike-ridden assassins. Yes, the shock value is much valued here. So I quickly take you to the climactic butchery where 21 Pandits are shot at point-blank in the centre of their foreheads one after another.

But my question to Agnihotri is: Why the numbers? Why is the narrative so taken up with how many were massacred? If you repudiate the statistics put out by the Government on how few were killed, then your ‘authentic’ numbers too are open to debate.

The Kashmir Files would have worked better if it had steered away from inducing horror and disgust through numbers. The idea that the film puts forward—of an entire creed being annihilated by fundamentalists—is so crushing in its implications that numbers cease to matter.

What really counts is the impressive credibility Agnihotri brings to the polemical drama.

There are long passages of history-deconstructing conversations on the genocide among four old friends played by Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Belawadi, Puneet Issar and Atul Shrivastava, the last-named latter embodying the ‘press-titute’ line of thought so popular among a section of the Indian right-wingers who conveniently pin the blame for historical disinformation on the media.

These closed-door conversations confer an aura of a chamber piece on Agnihotri’s conversational Kashmiri carpe-diem. It’s only when the narrative steps out into the action that we feel the full impact of the seething rage that runs through the narrative’s vital organs.

Anupam Kher, dramatically effective as a senile Kashmiri pandit who dies fighting for his people’s right to return home, has a very moving moment when he sits nibbling on a biscuit outside his tent at a refugee camp while in the distance we hear the voice of an old woman singing a Kashmiri song about homesickness. I wish there were more such reined-in moments of anguish.

Pallavi Joshi as a rabblerousing academic inciting notion of azaadi in her brainwashed students is deliciously ambivalent. But it is Darshan Kumar as a young impressionable third-generation Kashmiri pandit who steals the show. His pitch-perfect monologue on the illustrious history of Kashmiri pundits at the JNU, sorry, MNU, will be recalled by history.

I am not too sure how history will judge 'The Kashmir Files'. It will depend on who is in power on judgement day.

Birthday special: How Alia Bhatt has evolved as an actor through her movies

Topping the Eurovision leaderboard is a dream for many international music acts but for Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra, the glitz of the song contest seems a long way off.

Operating out of western Ukraine, lead singer Oleh Psiuk has traded the stage to run a 20-strong volunteer group, supplying medicines and helping people flee the war. One of his band members is serving in the territorial defence unit.

Benedict Cumberbatch says he hopes to house Ukrainian refugees

On Monday, betting aggregate site Oddschecker put the group a firm favourite to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, but Psiuk is not ready to celebrate. "I cannot enjoy it while I am worried for my loved ones. The war separated me and my girlfriend. She is 300kms (186 miles)away from me. We cannot meet because it is very dangerous," he told Reuters.

"She sits in a bunker while I am here and air raid sirens are constantly on." He said his girlfriend has been making Molotov cocktails as part of defence efforts.

The band members are rehearsing separately, but plan to meet soon in Lviv to practise their entry "Stefania", which Psiuk said had become an anthem for Ukrainians during the war.

"No matter under what circumstance we will go to the Eurovision, I will try to be useful for Ukraine. Even if it (war) is all over in the nearest future, it won’t be easy anyway because we will need a lot of time to rebuild. The country is in ruins," he said.

The Eurovision final, one of the world`s largest televised events, takes place in Turin, Italy on May 14.

If Kalush Orchestra win, Ukraine will earn the right to host the 2023 contest. The country won Eurovision in 2016, when Crimean Tatar Susana Jamaladinova of Ukraine, known as Jamala, triumphed with a song about former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin`s deportation of hundreds of thousands of people from her Black Sea homeland, two years after Russia annexed the territory.

The following year, host Ukraine barred Russia from taking part. Russia has also been banned from the 2022 contest, after Ukraine and European public broadcasters called for them to be expelled.
Tensions with Russia had cast a shadow over Ukraine’s 2022 entry even before Moscow launched what it describes as a "special operation" to demilitarise its neighbour. Kalush Orchestra replaced Ukraine’s original act, Alina Pash, after a row about her 2015 visit to Crimea.

For Psiuk, Kalush Orchestra’s Eurovision fame is an opportunity to spread awareness.

"If you think it will not happen to your country, there are no guarantees for that. We also thought that it would not happen to us. That is why let’s stop it as soon as possible," he said.

"We want peace to finally come to Ukraine.”

Operating out of western Ukraine, lead singer Oleh Psiuk has traded the stage to run a 20-strong volunteer group, supplying medicines and helping people flee the war. One of his band members is serving in the territorial defence unit. Benedict Cumberbatch says he hopes to house Ukrainian refugees On Monday, betting aggregate site Oddschecker put the group a firm favourite to win this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, but Psiuk is not ready to celebrate.
