If that happens, the noise that will be generated by his return for the Red Devils would surely be heard on the cricket ground, during Day 2 of the India-England Test.

<p>Mikel Arteta believes the international break came at the right time for his Arsenal side as they try to overturn a dreadful start to the Premier League season.<br />
<br />
A 5-0 hammering at champions Manchester City heading into the break left Arsenal bottom of the table with three defeats from their first three games and no goals scored.<br />
<br />
Arteta`s side host fellow strugglers Norwich City on Saturday with the pressure growing on the Spaniard.<br />
<br />
However, he believes the two-week pause has given him time to get players back from injury and bed in new signings.<br />
<br />
"We needed some break to try and get players back. Hopefully by Saturday we will have a different team," he told a news conference on Thursday.<br />
<br />
"We have a completely different squad. It`s unheard of. Now we have to make it work, we have to glide it together, build relationships, chemistry and understanding. We have to do that really quickly."<br />
<br />
New signing Ben White is available for Saturday as are Gabriel Magalhaes, Eddie Nketiah and Thomas Partey, although Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka is suspended following his sending off against Manchester City.<br />
<br />
"I`m really looking forward to having everyone available and to try start the season the way we want," Arteta said.<br />
<br />
"We don`t want to use any excuses. We know how difficult the start was with injuries and COVID issues we had. We have to reset now. We need to get everybody back on track and start to win football games which is what we have to do".<br />
<br />
Should Arsenal lose to Norwich it would be the first time they have lost their first four games of a league campaign since 1923, while never in their history have they failed to score a goal in their opening four league games.<br />
<br />
Arsenal fans are growing increasingly impatient but Arteta, who replaced fellow Spaniard Unai Emery in December 2019, said that there was a long-term project in place at Arsenal.<br />
<br />
"We have tried to explain the project and the decisions that have been made over the last few months. The amount of changes in the past two years is almost 30 players," he said.<br />
<br />
"It`s a project that we believed in and we all take responsibility. Now we have to make it work."<br />
<br />
Whether he is allowed to continue leading the project will depend very much on Arsenal quickly climbing the table.<br />
<br />
"The pressure is always there to be as high as possible in that league table. It`s down to us to provide everything we have," added Arteta.<br />
<br />
New Japanese defensive signing Takehiro Tomiyasu`s hopes of making his debut hinge on a work-permit.<br />
<br />
"The club is working hard to try and achieve that in the next couple of hours," Arteta said of the player signed for around 18 million pounds ($24.91 million) from Bologna.<br />

"I`ve not enjoyed the quality of the pitch at all, and I`ve known about it. Even the first game I wasn`t happy about it. It`s just not good enough, it is certainly below Premier League standards at the moment."<br />

Southampton went two goals better, dealing fourth-tier Newport County an 8-0 the drubbing at the Rodney Parade ground in the South Coast side`s biggest away win of their 136-year history. Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Burnley failed to provide as much excitement for the 30,000 crowd at St James` Park, that game ending goalless with Burnley winning through 4-3 on penalties. New signing Wayne Hennessey saved two penalties before Charlie Taylor scored the winner. Aubameyang, returning to the starting line-up after testing positive for COVID-19 before the season got under way, tapped into an empty net in the 17th minute after Bukayo Saka`s saved effort fell to him. He made it 2-0 on the stroke of halftime, when Nicolas Pepe`s shot rebounded off the post for another tap-in, and then repaid the favour seconds later. The hat-trick was sealed in the 62nd, Saka having bagged the fourth goal of the game in the 50th, with a strike from 18 yards. "This hopefully can give us something to build our confidence for the next games. We had to work hard and keep pushing," said the Gabonese, whose side lost both their opening league matches 2-0. Manager Mikel Arteta was delighted with the performance and the clean sheet, highlighting also the team spirit. "We are all disappointed that we haven`t won any of the two games in the Premier League but the attitude of the players and how together they are," the Spaniard said when asked what had pleased him most. Alexandre Lacazette came off the bench for his season`s debut and made it 6-0 four minutes later, assisted by Pepe, as Arsenal celebrated their first win of the season against opponents who were effectively a reserve team. West Brom, relegated from the Premier League last season, made 11 changes from the side that won at the weekend in the Championship and had five players -- including goalkeeper Alex Palmer -- making their debuts. Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was also debuting following his move from Sheffield United. ELYOUNOUSSI HAT-TRICK Loanee Armando Broja scored in each half on his debut for Southampton and Mohamed Elyounoussi grabbed a second half hat-trick as Newport were hammered in their first home game of the season after having their pitch re-laid. Nathan Tella (25th), Kyle Walker-Peters (44th) and Nathan Redmond (69th) also scored with Saints running riot in the second half after going in 3-0 at the break. Holders Manchester City will start their bid for a fifth successive League Cup trophy with a third round home game against third tier Wycombe Wanderers after the draw was made following Wednesday`s games. Manchester United will host West Ham United, managed by their former boss David Moyes, at Old Trafford while Chelsea host Aston Villa. Arsenal were rewarded with a home game against third tier AFC Wimbledon, while Southampton travel next to Sheffield United. Norwich City, who beat Bournemouth 6-0 on Tuesday, will host Liverpool -- who won 3-0 at Carrow Road in their opening game of the Premier League season. Wolverhampton Wanderers host Tottenham Hotspur in a match that pits new Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo against his old employers.

Saturday = ✅ pic.twitter.com/wjUmjO4IVe — Premier League (@premierleague) August 21, 2021 × "Everybody was really looking forward to this football festival, to this game, and I think nobody leaves this place today with any kind of disappointment because I think all of our dreams were fulfilled today, atmosphere-wise," Klopp said. "How the game was as well, was pretty special, because Burnley are Burnley -- and Burnley cause you problems." Brighton claimed back-to-back wins at the start of a top-flight season for the first time in their history with Duffy powering in an early header and Maupay seizing on a mistake to make it 2-0 shortly before halftime. Manchester City were off the pace last weekend against Tottenham but were ruthless against a Norwich side dealt a cruel fixture list to launch their return to the top flight. City took the lead in the seventh minute when Gabriel Jesus's cross forced a panicky clearance that rebounded into the net off Norwich keeper Tim Krul before 100 million pounds man Grealish bundled in a Jesus cross in the 22nd minute. Aymeric Laporte made it 3-0 in the 65th minute before substitutes Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez completed the rout. "This result was the consequence of how many good things we have done," City manager Pep Guardiola said. "We are still not at the top -- there are still many things to do. We trained, we were refreshed, happy for these first points.... hopefully they will not be the last!" While Grealish scored on his home debut for City, Danny Ings did likewise for Aston Villa, producing an acrobatic bicycle kick volley to open the scoring against Newcastle. Anwar El Ghazi's penalty sealed the points. "We have seen Danny Ings do it against us so it is good he is an Aston Villa player now," Villa boss Dean Smith said of the striker they signed from Southampton. Leeds twice battled back to draw with Everton in a scintillating clash at Elland Road. Dominic Calvert-Lewin's penalty gave Everton a lead that was cancelled out by Mateusz Klich but Demarai Gray restored Everton's advantage. Raphinha lashed home a superb effort with 18 minutes remaining to give Leeds their first point of the season. Patrick Vieira got his first point as manager of Crystal Palace in a drab stalemate with London rivals Brentford who are yet to concede. Chelsea face Arsenal on Sunday after Southampton host Manchester United and Tottenham go to Wolves.
