His family was shattered to see him in a pool of blood in moments; what was a happy family vacation turned into a nightmare. The family was estimated to return home on April 24. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's office issued a statement saying that 'one of senior officers and another of police personnel &mdash; have been dispatched to J&amp;K' to review the situation. <h2>PM Modi vows to bring justice</h2>
PM Modi condemned the attack on tourists and vowerd that those behind the heinous act would be brought to justice.&nbsp;
"They (terrorists) will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger," PM Modi said in a post on X.&nbsp;
He also conveyed his condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the terror attack.&nbsp;
The tourists said that the attackers seemed to be targeting Hindu tourists. &ldquo;Three to four people attacked us. I told them &ndash; kill me too, you&rsquo;ve already killed my husband. One of them said, &lsquo;I won&rsquo;t kill you. Go tell this to Modi&rsquo;,&rdquo; one of the tourists recounted.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers came out of the thick pine forests surrounding the area and started shooting at civilians, triggering chaos and panic.

US President Donald Trump expressed condolences, saying that the US stands strong with India against terrorism.
"We pray for the souls of those lost, and for the recovery of the injured. Prime Minister Modi, and the incredible people of India, have our full support and deepest sympathies. Our hearts are with you all," he said in a post on X.&nbsp;
Trump is also scheduled to talk to PM Modi regarding the attack in J&amp;K, White House press secretary said.&nbsp;
Russian President Vladimir Putin extended his condolences in a statement and said that "this brutal crime has no justification whatsoever."
"Kindly accept the sincere condolences over the tragic consequences of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, whose victims were civilians &mdash; citizens of various countries. We expect that its organisers and perpetrators will face deserved punishment. I would like to reiterate our commitment to further increasing cooperation with Indian partners in fighting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," he said.&nbsp;
Ukraine has also issued a statement and said that it is deeply concerned over the attack on tourists at Pahalgam, J&amp;K. "We endure the loss of life from terrorism daily and firmly condemn terrorism in all its forms. When innocent people are murdered, it brings unbearable pain. The perpetrators should be held accountable," it said.

&ldquo;We had just left the area when the shooting began,&rdquo; the husband said, his voice trembling. &ldquo;We could hear the firing for a long time.&nbsp;
"Everyone was aiming to get out as quickly as possible. It was chaos," he added.&nbsp;
They described how they were pushed and shoved by the crowd while they were trying to flee.&nbsp;

"My only goal was to get us out of there and to safety. We&rsquo;re now heading back, as the doctor advised her to take complete bed rest,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;
The couple explained that there was an estimated 4000 to 5000 people were gathered there, including tourists and small children.&nbsp;
&ldquo;We didn&rsquo;t turn back or look at who was firing. We were just focused on getting out of there alive,&rdquo; the wife said.

It must be ensured that the track is prepared for ponies, and pithoos from Chandanwari to holy cave well before the commencement of the yatra,'' said Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.&nbsp;

''Power supply and illumination in every camp should be done by June 17. Health facilities and the availability of health equipment should be ensured. SOP by the health department to be made operational at each camp. We must learn from the challenges of last year and take comprehensive measures accordingly. All the concerned departments, CAPFs, J&amp;K Police, Army and other stakeholders should work in close coordination for making the best arrangements to ensure a smooth pilgrimage. Feedback on tracks from civil administration, and security forces should also be taken,'' said Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.&nbsp;

The soldiers were stationed in the area for the famous Indian pilgrimage known as the&nbsp;'Amarnath Yatra.'

A civil bus carrying 39 personnel (37 from ITBP&nbsp;and 2 from Jammu and Kashmir Police) fell down to a roadside river bed after its breaks reportedly failed.&nbsp;

''In a road accident near Chandanwari Pahalgam in Anantnag district, 6 ITBP personnel got martyred while several others got injured, who are being airlifted to Army hospital, Srinagar for treatment. Further details shall follow,” said Jammu and Kashmir Police.&nbsp;

The critically Injured were airlifted from the site to Indian Army's 92 Base hospital in Srinagar while over 20 were shifted to the district hospital in Anantnag. District Hospital Anantnag had sent 19 ambulances to the spot.&nbsp;

The LG of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha announced that all possible help will be provided to the injured in the accident. ''Deeply anguished by the bus accident near Chandanwari in which we have lost our brave ITBP personnel. My condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. All possible assistance is being provided to the injured personnel,'' said Manoj Sinha, LG Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;

The Former Chief&nbsp;Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah also condoled the deaths of ITBP Jawans in the accident. ''Terribly sad news from South Kashmir today. An accident &amp; a militant attack have left a trail of death &amp; suffering. I condemn the militant attack in Shopian unequivocally in which Sunil Kumar was killed &amp; Pinto Kumar injured. My condolences to the family. At the same time, I send my condolences to the families &amp; colleagues of the brave ITBP jawans killed in an accident in Pahalgam today. A number of ITBP personnel have been injured. I send my best wishes for their speedy &amp; complete recovery,'' said Omar Abdullah, Former CM of Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;

The injured are being treated at both the hospitals in Anantnag and Srinagar.
