Indian Army to get QRSAM air defence missile system worth $3.5bn. Here's all you need to know

Did Pakistan strike a parked Sukhoi-30MKI at Adampur air base in Punjab? Or destroy an S-400 surface-to-air missile unit at Bhuj airbase in Gujarat? These are the two most recent fantasies being peddled as part of a month-long campaign of wishful thinking and weaponised disinformation from Islamabad. Following India's Operation Sindoor, Pakistan had rushed to present a counter-narrative of success in striking Indian airbases and installations. With nothing much to demonstrate in terms of actual damage to Indian military facilities, it switched to manipulated satellite images, fabricated visuals, and disinformation campaigns. Two new examples indicate Pakistan hasn't lost steam, and is using even more heavily manipulated or inaccurately projected imagery to imply damage. Leading imagery expert Damien Symon has repeatedly debunked these lies during the past month, revealing how Pakistan tried to create battlefield success through reused, doctored, or misinterpreted images, including ones provided by a Chinese satellite company. Let's go into the specifics of Pakistan's fallacies, beginning with the most recent. Adampur airbase: Sukhoi-30MKI 'strike' that wasn't Pakistan asserted that it had hit and damaged a Sukhoi-30MKI in India's Adampur airbase. The satellite image presented to corroborate the assertion featured a jet close to what seemed like a burn scar. Upon scrutiny, the image proved to be taken prior to the war and was instead of a MiG-29 being serviced as part of routine maintenance. The alleged damage was simply soot deposits from multiple tests of the engine.

New report alleges a direct hit at India's Adampur Air Base by Pakistan damaged a Su-30, however a review reveals this image taken in March 2025, pre-conflict actually shows a MiG-29 undergoing maintenance, the dark soot near the engine test pad is routine, not battle damage pic.twitter.com/GOC1NVRX9I— Damien Symon (@detresfa_) June 8, 2025

Bhuj airbase: The Phantom S-400 hitYet another photo was spread purportedly showing damage to an Indian S-400 radar facility at Bhuj. The photo depicted dark spots on a military base apron. Upon examination, these turned out to be oil spots or fuel spillage from a vehicle depot. The photo was taken long before hostilities began and had nothing to do with a strike.

An image is being circulated now as a Pakistan destroyed S-400 radar in India, a review however indicates it's likely just oil stains at Bhuj military base's vehicle service yard, also the image predates the recent Indo-Pak conflict as it was taken in February 2025 pic.twitter.com/Y850jfk4n9— Damien Symon (@detresfa_) June 6, 2025

Adampur airbase: Faked S-400 damageAnother independent claim made was that an S-400 battery at Adampur was struck by Pakistan. The satellite image was rather heavily doctored, with superimposed black spots meant to look like the impression of missile impact craters. No such marks or damage were noted at the site according to the latest satellite imagery compared to it. This was another case of blatant manipulation. Naliya airbase: Shadow passed off as strikePakistan released an image of the Naliya airbase that seemed to indicate darkening soil near the runway, implying a bombing attack. Examination showed the alleged damage was actually the shadow of a passing cloud. The infrastructure of the airbase remained entirely intact.

An image now circulating claims to show damage at Srinagar Airport as a result of the recent India-Pakistan conflict, however, a review with multiple recent images shows inconsistencies, no such damage is found at the airport, this image was likely manipulated or misinterpreted pic.twitter.com/MwMYBwRnUg— Damien Symon (@detresfa_) June 2, 2025

Srinagar airport: Visual misrepresentationA blurry photo purporting to depict the civilian apron at Srinagar airport was utilised to imply bomb damage. Several unambiguous satellite images taken on various days revealed no alteration to the location. The image being promoted was either doctored or misinterpreted, with no damage visible on the ground. Adampur airbase: Chinese imageImages released by a Chinese space imagery company were also employed to validate the report of a successful Pakistani attack on Adampur. The alleged damage zone in that picture coincided with the same-looking feature in earlier images, many months before the war. It was evident the mark being claimed as fresh damage had nothing to do with any airstrike. Jammu airport: Photoshopped imagesAn image purported to depict damage at Jammu airport, with blackened patches along the runway and apron section. A comparison of high-resolution, post-strike images confirmed there was no damage at the location. The picture had been digitally modified, and the reported blast marks did not actually exist. Conversely, high-resolution satellite imagery of Indian airstrikes against Pakistani airbases, particularly Jacobabad and Bholari, indicates widespread repair work. Tarpaulin covers have been used to cover buildings and aircraft, very likely to conceal the level of physical damage on the ground.

Recent imagery from Bholari Airbase, Pakistan indicates that the hangar damaged in the Indian airstrike is now covered with tarpaulin possibly signaling repair activity/restoration is now underway pic.twitter.com/BPbbfgTkNJ— Damien Symon (@detresfa_) June 2, 2025

EXPOSED Satellite images debunk Pakistans fake claims of major damage to IAF airbases during Operation Sindoor

India struck nine sites in Pakistan to dismantle terror networks that have long existed and operated from these places

EXPOSED! Satellite images debunk Pakistan’s fake claims of 'major damage' to IAF airbases during Operation Sindoor

In my decades of military service, I have witnessed how a clearly communicated strategic intent can shape not only the outcome of operations but also their perception by the nation and the world. This was evident during Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, when the Indian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was meticulously planned- designed to deliver a firm message of deterrence without triggering escalation. However, as is often the case today, the information space rapidly became turbulent. Misinformation from adversaries, sensationalist media coverage, misinterpretations by foreign outlets, and emotionally charged narratives began to cloud the public understanding of the operation’s intent. The initial aftermath, if not handled with clarity, could have undermined both domestic and international perception. Thankfully, these challenges were addressed swiftly through coordinated military and diplomatic outreach- daily briefings, timely updates via PIB Fact Checks, and engagement with the media helped ground the narrative. In this landscape, the voices of veterans emerged as a powerful stabilising force. Many within our fraternity stepped forward- on news channels, digital platforms, and social media- bringing with them experience, clarity, and calm. Their contributions added essential context and lent credibility to the evolving discourse. Veterans occupy a unique space in society. With first-hand experience and strategic understanding, we can bridge the gap between operational complexities and public interpretation. After Operation SINDOOR, I saw fellow veterans articulate with poise the rationale behind the strikes, underlining India’s commitment to restrained, proportionate responses rather than provocation. These interventions reassured the public, upheld stability, and communicated India’s responsible intent to the international community. That said, not every voice struck the right chord. A small section, perhaps overcome by emotion or provoked by media theatrics, drifted into speculative commentary. While the intentions may not have been harmful, such moments can confuse audiences and dilute the credibility that veterans collectively hold. This is a reminder that clarity and composure must remain non-negotiable standards for us all. As former servicemen, we also carry the responsibility of preserving the armed forces’ reputation for professionalism and ethical conduct. Several veterans highlighted key aspects of theoperation, including intelligence-backed targeting, restraint in execution, and adherence to international humanitarian law. These inputs strengthened public trust in the moral compass of our forces. However, even isolated lapses, where exaggeration or speculation replaces fact, can be damaging. The general public often perceives any veteran’s opinion as a reflection of the institution. It is therefore essential that we speak with precision, especially in times of national attention. The digital landscape today is unforgiving. Falsehoods spread rapidly, and misinformation, deliberate or otherwise, can provoke unnecessary anxiety or even diplomatic complications. Operation Sindoor was no exception. Inaccurate narratives surfaced within hours. In this context, many veterans made meaningful interventions, countering half-truths, offering factual corrections, and contextualising events without hyperbole. These actions played a crucial role in maintaining public confidence and shaping a realistic, steady narrative. Throughout these engagements, it was heartening to observe that most veterans maintained discretion and upheld operational confidentiality. This discipline is essential. Regardless of our retirement status, the obligation to safeguard sensitive information remains. Even casual remarks can be misconstrued, revealing more than intended. Our professionalism, built over the years in uniform, must not lapse when we are in public view. One particularly constructive area of veteran engagement post-Sindoor was the explanation of the operation’s technological sophistication and tri-service coordination. Veterans helped explain to the public how real-time intelligence, precision-guided munitions, and seamless cooperation between the Army, Air Force, and Navy enabled effective execution. These insights reassured the nation and reflected the growing technological prowess of India’s defence apparatus. Equally important was the effort by many veterans to look beyond the immediate tactical success. They reminded the nation that no single operation, however effective, neutralises all threats. Strategic deterrence must be sustained through vigilance, readiness, and constant evaluation of evolving threats. This guidance helped steer the national conversation away from short-term celebration toward long-term preparedness. Given the vital influence veterans wield today, I believe there is a strong case for structured initiatives, such as tailored media training, digital literacy programmes, and strategic communication workshops, to help us engage more effectively and responsibly in the public domain. Such efforts would ensure that our voices remain not only relevant but also deeply aligned with national interests. Operation Sindoor demonstrated that the veteran community, when engaged with discipline and purpose, plays a critical role in national discourse. Our experience allows us to guide public opinion, clarify complex realities, and reinforce the ethical strength of our armed forces. But this power comes with responsibility. We may no longer wear the uniform, but the values it instilled in us endure. Let us honour those values in every public utterance- measured, accurate, and always mindful of the impact we carry. Our continued service to the nation lies not just in what we did, but in how we choose to speak, act, and lead, long after the battlefield.

Pakistan's former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was dispatched to the US by the establishment to fight the diplomatic battle against India in the wake of Operation Sindoor, the Indian armed forces' military response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman, in interviews to global media, public speeches and social media posts this week, repeated the familiar script of the South Asian nation in dodging the real issue of cross-border terrorism fomented by Islamabad against India. He also repeated the government line of demanding a so-called ‘joint investigation’ into the Pahalgam attack, seeking evidence for Pakistan's involvement.
‘Nuclear escalation ladder’: Bilawal repeats Pakistan's nuclear blackmail

Most importantly, Bilawal raised the nuclear blackmail that Indian PM Narendra Modi had warned Pakistan to desist from. In an interview laden with falsehoods, Bilawal told Bloomberg TV that India’s use of ‘a supersonic nuclear-capable missile’ made the situation more precarious. He was basically raising the bogey of a nuclear war between India and Pakistan, whereas the Indian military leadership had clearly stated that Operation Sindoor was a conventional operation. “We have about 30 seconds time to decide, off a grainy little image, this nuclear-capable missile — is it armed with a nuclear weapon? And how do we respond?,” Bilawal told Bloomberg TV. He claimed that India 'lowered the threshold' for future military confrontations. He said the two countries would climb the 'escalation ladder' too quickly for world leaders to intervene. “Our concern for next time, heaven forbid, for next time round is that the threshold is low for a military conflict,” said Bilawal, who led a delegation to the US as part of Pakistan's diplomatic efforts to apprise the international community of the India-Pakistan military confrontation.
Raising the bogey of ‘nuclear water war’

Bilawal, who had said in May that 'either water of the Sindhu river or Indians' blood' will flow in the wake of India keeping the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, even used a new term in his US speeches: 'nuclear water war.' He said that India's diplomatic move in the wake of Pahalgam attack laid the ‘foundation for first nuclear water war.’
‘Show us the proof’ alibi on Pahalgam terror attack
Bilawal repeated Pakistan's irresponsible attitude toward terrorism in the context of Pahalgam attack, raising the usual Pakistani rhetoric of 'show us the proof'. “You just need an accusation, and you launch into a full-blown war with Pakistan,” he said, claiming that India did not provide any evidence of the attack of April 22 in which 26 people, mostly Indian Hindu tourists, were killed by Pakistan-trained terrorists. “The new sort of normal — or we call it an abnormal — that the Modi government is trying to impose on the region is that if there’s a terrorist attack anywhere in India...you don’t have to provide a shred of evidence.” His reference appears to be on Narendra Modi's pledge to attack terror camps in Pakistan in case of any future attacks on India, which the Indian prime minister called the new normal.
Kashmir, not terror, is ‘root cause’ for him

Bilawal, in his speaking engagements in the US, raised the Kashmir bogey as usual, calling it the ‘root cause’, not terrorism emanating from Pakistan. "If India is serious about combating terrorism, then they have to create more conducive environment" in Kashmir, he said while speaking at the Middle East Institute.
Raising the joint probe demand on terrorist incidents

Bilawal also adhered to Pakistan's ploy of internationalising bilateral issues, by repeating the government's stance on joint probe into Pahalgam attack. He alleged, without proof, that India is involved in attacks in Pakistan, while speaking to China's state-run CCTV. He insisted that 'all attacks in India and Pakistan' should be probed by a joint forum, without specifying who should be in the forum.
Seeking to internationalise bilateral issues

In his engagemetns in the US, Bilawal made efforts to further internationalise the bilateral tensions between India and Pakistan, praising US President Donald Trump as well as the UN secertary general for helping de-escalate tensions. “Appreciated the critical peacemaker role played by President Donald Trump in facilitating the ceasefire understanding, intended as a pathway to broader, sustained peace and dialogue,” he wrote on X.

He said that India's diplomatic move in the wake of Pahalgam attack laid the ‘foundation for first nuclear water war.’ ‘Show us the proof’ alibi on Pahalgam terror attack Bilawal repeated Pakistan's irresponsible attitude toward terrorism in the context of Pahalgam attack, raising the usual Pakistani rhetoric of 'show us the proof'. Kashmir, not terror, is ‘root cause’ for him Bilawal, in his speaking engagements in the US, raised the Kashmir bogey as usual, calling it the ‘root cause’, not terrorism emanating from Pakistan. "If India is serious about combating terrorism, then they have to create more conducive environment" in Kashmir, he said while speaking at the Middle East Institute. Raising the joint probe demand on terrorist incidents Bilawal also adhered to Pakistan's ploy of internationalising bilateral issues, by repeating the government's stance on joint probe into Pahalgam attack. He alleged, without proof, that India is involved in attacks in Pakistan, while speaking to China's state-run CCTV. He insisted that 'all attacks in India and Pakistan' should be probed by a joint forum, without specifying who should be in the forum. Seeking to internationalise bilateral issues In his engagemetns in the US, Bilawal made efforts to further internationalise the bilateral tensions between India and Pakistan, praising US President Donald Trump as well as the UN secertary general for helping de-escalate tensions. “Appreciated the critical peacemaker role played by President Donald Trump in facilitating the ceasefire understanding, intended as a pathway to broader, sustained peace and dialogue,” he wrote on X.

Bilawal Bhutto repeated the familiar script, dodging the real issue of cross-border terrorism fomented by Islamabad against India. He also repeated the government line of demanding a so-called ‘joint investigation’ into the Pahalgam attack, seeking evidence for Pakistan's involvement

‘Nuclear water war’: Bilawal Bhutto is wrong on Kashmir, Pahalgam, nuke escalation, but he's only sticking to army script

Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, who is a member of an all-party delegation conveying the Indian government’s message against terrorism, slammed political wrangling back home over his comments in favour of the nation and said on Monday that it was “distressing that people at home were calculating political allegiances”. In a post on X, while taking a veiled dig at the critics in his party, Khurshid asked whether it was so difficult to “become patriotic” when the MPs’ delegations were on a mission against terrorism. Khurshid’s remarks came days after his party colleague Udit Raj slammed party MP Shashi Tharoor over his remarks in favour of the government and called him a “super spokesperson of the BJP”, which were endorsed by party leader Jairam Ramesh.
‘It’s distressing that people at home are calculating political allegiances’
“When on a mission against terrorism to carry India’s message to the world, it’s distressing that people at home are calculating political allegiances. Is it so difficult to be patriotic?,” he tweeted. Although Khurshid did not explicitly mention who he was targeting, the post assumes significance as the Congress has been unhappy over the nomination of its leaders in the all-party delegation after the government ignored the recommendations made by the party. Explaining his tweet later, Khurshid said there was a need to speak in one voice in favour of the nation irrespective of political differences.“People keep saying, ‘What are you doing in a delegation where there are people from the BJP? What are you doing there?’ What are we doing here? No matter which party you are from, today what is needed is a single voice to speak in favour of the nation and that is what we are doing here,” he told news agency ANI.“I think when I say ‘Is it so difficult to be a patriot?’ - that is the question that has to be asked of those who are putting out tweets and saying things that I think I believe are not very encouraging when you want to do something for the nation,” he said. Khurshid’s tweet came days after his party colleague Jairam Ramesh made a controversial remark over the all-party delegations, saying that the “terrorists were roaming and MPs were also roaming”.
Khurshid praises Article 370 removal
Khurshid had praised the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in his address in Indonesia while visiting with the delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha. During the delegation’s visit to Indonesia last week, Khurshid had said that Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, had long created a perception of Jammu and Kashmir being separate from the rest of India. Salman Khurshid’s remarks came days after his party colleague Udit Raj slammed party MP Shashi Tharoor over his remarks in favour of the government and called him a “super spokesperson of the BJP”, which were endorsed by party leader Jairam Ramesh.

‘It’s distressing that people at home are calculating political allegiances’ “When on a mission against terrorism to carry India’s message to the world, it’s distressing that people at home are calculating political allegiances. Is it so difficult to be patriotic?,” he tweeted. Although Khurshid did not explicitly mention who he was targeting, the post assumes significance as the Congress has been unhappy over the nomination of its leaders in the all-party delegation after the government ignored the recommendations made by the party. Explaining his tweet later, Khurshid said there was a need to speak in one voice in favour of the nation irrespective of political differences. “People keep saying, ‘What are you doing in a delegation where there are people from the BJP? What are you doing there?’ What are we doing here? No matter which party you are from, today what is needed is a single voice to speak in favour of the nation and that is what we are doing here,” he told news agency ANI. “I think when I say ‘Is it so difficult to be a patriot?’ - that is the question that has to be asked of those who are putting out tweets and saying things that I think I believe are not very encouraging when you want to do something for the nation,” he said. Khurshid’s tweet came days after his party colleague Jairam Ramesh made a controversial remark over the all-party delegations, saying that the “terrorists were roaming and MPs were also roaming”. Khurshid praises Article 370 removal Khurshid had praised the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir in his address in Indonesia while visiting with the delegation led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha. During the delegation’s visit to Indonesia last week, Khurshid had said that Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, had long created a perception of Jammu and Kashmir being separate from the rest of India. He said this perception was finally put to an end with the government’s abrogation of the article.

Salman Khurshid’s remarks came days after his party colleague Udit Raj slammed party MP Shashi Tharoor over his remarks in favour of the government and called him a “super spokesperson of the BJP”, which were endorsed by party leader Jairam Ramesh.

Gen Anil Chauhan said, "Most of India's capabilities were put to good effect, the results of which were visible, evidence of which was demonstrated. Most of these systems actually functioned quite well. It will be difficult to comment and list particular times the equipment used by the other side, and the capabilities of the other side. But we are aware that we were able to penetrate air defences as long as 300 km with accuracy (in Pakistan); targetting airfields, and infra deep inside Pakistan." This comes after General Anil Chauhan confirmed the loss of fighter jets in its recent standoff with Pakistan but quashed Pakistani claims of downing five Indian jets. Gen Chauhan also said both countries were not at the brink of nuclear war, stating that "there's a lot of space before that nuclear threshold is crossed." His statement comes a day after US President Donald Trump yet again claimed that he was responsible for the end of fighting between India and Pakistan and that both nuclear-armed neighbours were headed for a nuclear war. "There’s a lot of space before that nuclear threshold is, you know, crossed, a lot of signalling before that. I think nothing like that happened," Gen Chauhan said in an interview with Bloomberg TV. Speaking to Bloomberg TV, General Chauhan without giving the number of fighter jets downed in clashes with Pakistan in May, said “What is important is that not the jet being down, but why they were being down." Calling Pakistan's claims of shooting down six Indian warplanes “absolutely incorrect,” he further said, “The good part is that we are able to understand the tactical mistake which we made, remedy it, rectify it, and then implement it again after two days and flew all our jets again, targeting at long range."

Operation Sindoor: India climbs global optimism index post-terror response, says survey

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, has revealed that approximately 15% of armed forces’ time during Operation Sindoor went into countering fake news and misleading narratives, and added that the way wars are fought has changed and modern warfare depends on technology, cyber operations, and the ability to control information. “Combating fake news was a constant effort. Our communication strategy was deliberate; we chose to be measured, not reactive, because misinformation can quickly distort public perception during high-stakes operations,” General Chauhan said on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, reported ANI. The CDS further stressed that India’s strategy for managing narratives should prioritise verified facts and credible evidence, even if it results in a more measured or delayed public response. “India has always built its narratives on solid ground, even if we’ve sometimes been slow to present them. For instance, in the first three days, two women officers were our primary spokespeople because the actual military leadership were directly engaged in fast-moving operations. It was only after the 10th that the DGMOs came forward to brief the media,” he said. “As someone directly involved in these operations, I can say that cyber did play a role in the conflict, but its impact was limited. While both sides did experience attacks, including some denial-of-service efforts, our military systems are air-gapped, meaning they’re not connected to the internet and are therefore largely secure. Attacks on public-facing platforms like school websites may have occurred, but they did not affect operational systems,” he added. During a press briefing amid Operation Sindoor, India’s foreign secretary, Vikram Misri, had criticised Pakistan for spreading disinformation.“The claims that they have made about attacking various military installations are completely false. The claim about the air station in Sirsa being destroyed is completely false. The claim about the air station in Surat—completely false.... These are lies about critical infrastructure, power systems, and cyberstructures. I urge all watching this not to be misled by the lies being peddled by Pakistan,” he had said. Operation Sindoor began with airstrikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7, but the operation was much more than just physical combat, the CDS said. It was “multi-domain” and, besides traditional military action, included cyber capabilities, intelligence, disinformation management, and the coordination of multiple forces across land, air, sea, and cyber.“Modern warfare is undergoing a complex convergence of tactical, operational, and strategic layers; old and new domains; and even of time and space,” news agency ANI quoted Anil Chauhan as saying.
‘Integrated tech and real-time networking vital elements of warfare now’
The CDS further stressed the need for integrated technology in warfare. “What matters most in modern warfare is the networking of systems and real-time integration across air, land, sea and cyber domains. If you have great tech but it’s not connected, you can’t fully leverage it.” Chauhan also said that India is preparing for future warfare by embracing technology, joint operations, and better narrative control, as demonstrated during Operation Sindoor.“We’re no longer fighting linear wars; we’re operating across distributed networks, applying force in non-linear ways, where deception is becoming more important than surprise,” he said. “We’ll need separate organisations for drones, EW, UTAPs (Unmanned Teaming Aerial Platforms), etc.,” he said. General Chauhan also highlighted the importance of reform in military structure and training and said India is moving towards more integrated and agile forces.

In a big confession, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif admitted that Pakistan had planned to strike India on May 10 but India pre-empted Islamabad's plans and India's BrahMos missile hit many areas inside Pakistan including Rawalpindi air base, in the early hours of May 10. This statement comes against the backdrop of Pakistan's military, led by Army Chief Asim Munir — now promoted to Field Marshal — claiming victory after heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after Operation Sindoor. It also comes weeks after the Pakistani PM visited Pasrur Cantonment in Sialkot to show that Indian strikes did not damage the Pakistani airbases. The visit to Sialkot was also termed as a copycat move as it came a day after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur airbase with the S-400 air defence system in the background.

"On the night of May 9-10, we decided to respond in a measured fashion to Indian aggression. Our armed forces were prepared to act at 4.30 in the morning after Fajr prayers to teach a lesson," Sharif said during a speech in Lachin, Azerbaijan. "But before that hour even arrived, India once again launched a missile attack using BrahMos, targeting various provinces of Pakistan, including the airport in Rawalpindi," Sharif said. Indian Defence Forces had earlier revealed that the Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi was among the 11 military sites targeted by India in response to Pakistan's drone and missile attacks on bordering states. In a big confession Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif admitted India's BrahMos missile hit many areas inside Pakistan including Rawalpindi

Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on Thursday (May 29) flagged delays in the procurement of critical military platforms, stressing that no single project that he can think of has been completed on time. "Many times, we know while signing contracts that those systems will never come. The airstrikes of Operation Sindoor at Pakistan's Murid Air Base might have hit a reportedly underground facility, newly published high-resolution satellite images revealed. Satellite image released on Wednesday (May 28) captured widespread destruction of the Murid air base in Pakistan, including a three-metre-wide crater 30 metres from a Pakistan Air Force underground facility and damage to the roof of a building next to unmanned aerial vehicle hangars.

"This report spotlights damage at Pakistan’s Murid Airbase - the Indian Air Force strike has caused structural damage to a Command & Control building, a section of the roof has collapsed as well, likely causing internal damage," Symon said in a post on X.

"This complex is heavily protected with double fencing, its own watchtowers and access control indicating its high-value nature as a target. The earth-protected entrances suggest this site might serve as storage for special equipment or as a hardened operational shelter for personnel, capable of withstanding heavy bombardment," he said. According to geo-intelligence analyst Damien Symon with the Intel Lab, the location of the crater near the underground structure has raised whispers that India targeted deep-buried targets, likely associated with Pakistan Air Force command-and-control activities or drone command. According to satellite imagery, precision-guided munitions and deep-penetration targeting were reportedly used to hit the perimeter defenses of the Air Base. If damages to the Murid Air Base are established, this would be the first instance in which India sought to incapacitate underground military infrastructure in Pakistan. Damages were also observed on the roof of the command-and-control building close to the UAV hangar. According to Symon, the hangar roof displays unmistakable signs of internal damage and a direct hit. The Murid air base is 150kms from the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. It is located in Pakistan's Chakwal, supporting the Sargodha air base and the Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi.

"What has changed in recent years is that the terrorists have also realised they will have a price to pay, on that, let there be no doubt. When, for the first time, India crossed the Line of Control between India and Pakistan to conduct a surgical strike on a terror base, a launch pad - the Uri strike in September 2016. That was already something we had not done before. Even during the Kargil War, we had not crossed the Line of Control; in Uri, we did, and then came the attack in Pulwama in 2019. This time, we crossed not only the Line of Control but also the international border, and we hit the terrorist headquarters in Balakot. This time, we have gone beyond both of those. We have not only gone beyond the Line of Control and the international border. We have struck at the Punjabi heartland of Pakistan by hitting terror camps, training centres, terror headquarters in nine locations," Tharoor said. Tharoor pinned down on the necessity of Operation Sindoor following Pahalgam terror attack and said, "Some women cried out The terrorists killed me too, and they said, 'No, go back, tell what happened to you. We heard, we heard their cries and India decided that the colour of the Sindoor, the vermilion colour on the forehead of our women, will also match the colour of the blood of the killers, the perpetrators, the attackers..." "Our Prime Minister has made it very clear Operation Sindoor was necessary because these terrorists came and wiped the Sindoor off the foreheads of 26 women by depriving them of their husbands and fathers, their married lives..." he added. A moment of silence was also observed in memory of the innocent civilians killed in Pahalgam terror attack by Tharoor-led delegation along with members of the Indian community at the Sociedad Hindostana de Panama. The all party delegation led by Tharoor arrived in Panama City for a three-day official visit after concluding their visit to Guyana.

Operation Sindoor outreach Our desire to be left alone not reciprocated by other side Shashi Tharoor slams Pakistan for promoting terrorism

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, leading an all-party delegation to Panama, delivered a scathing rebuke of Pakistan’s continued support for cross-border terrorism. Speaking to the Indian community in Panama, Tharoor said, "Unfortunately, our desire to just be left alone is not reciprocated by our friends on the other side of the border. They have chosen repeatedly to attack us because they believe that they want territory which they do not control, which we control. It is part of the sovereign borders of the United Indian, and we are not going to give it to them even if we have to pay the price that we have repeatedly been paid. " He also said that though the leaders come from different political backgrounds, they all stand ‘united in national purpose’. Watch the video here:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that the term “proxy war” no longer applies for cross-border terrorism, as the terrorists killed in India’s strikes under Operation Sindoor were buried with full state honours in Pakistan, draped in national flags and saluted by the Pakistani army. This clearly shows that terrorism is not just a shadow war, but a well-planned military strategy, he added while speaking at a rally in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. “I say this can no longer be called a proxy war because the terrorists whose funerals were held after May 6 were given state honours in Pakistan. Pakistan’s flags were placed on their coffins, and their army saluted them. It proves that terrorist activities are not a proxy war but a well-planned war strategy. You are already at war, and you will receive the response accordingly. We do not seek enmity with anyone. We want to live peacefully. We also want to progress so that we can contribute to the welfare of the world,” Modi said. Modi said nine terrorist hideouts were destroyed in just 22 minutes in India’s airstrikes during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan, in what was a decisive action.
‘Demolished terror targets on camera so that no one asks for proof’: Modi
The prime minister further stressed that the entire action was recorded on camera to silence any calls for proof. “This is a land of the brave. Until now, what we used to call a proxy war, after the scenes witnessed post-May 6, we can no longer make the mistake of calling it a proxy war. The reason is that when nine terrorist hideouts were identified and destroyed within just 22 minutes, it was a decisive action. And this time, everything was done before cameras, so that no one back home would ask for proof.” Before addressing the rally, Modi held a mega roadshow in Gandhinagar on Tuesday morning and was greeted by people who had gathered in large numbers, waving the tricolour along the route. This was the PM’s fourth roadshow during his two-day visit to Gujarat. It is also his first visit to his home state since Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
