Amid cheers from the crowd, the administration of Democratic President Joe Biden was criticised by progressives from his own party for approval of&nbsp;fossil fuel projects, the latest being the sanctioning of the controversial Willow project in Alaska.<br />

“We are all here for one reason: to end fossil fuels around the planet,” said Ocasio-Cortez, while speaking at a rally at the end of the march when the protesters reached close to the UN headquarters, where world leaders are set to meet for UNGA this week.</p>

<p>“And the way we create urgency is to have people around the world in the streets,” she added.</p>

She stated that climate action needs a democratic restructuring of the country's economy. “What we’re not gonna do is go from oil barons to solar barons,” she stated.</p>

<p>The organisers estimated that around 50,000 and 75,000 people participated in the march in Manhattan and stated that it is likely to become the biggest climate march held in the US in the past five years.<br />

“This is an incredible moment,” stated Jean Su of the Center for Biological Diversity, who worked towards organising the mobilisation.<br />

“Tens of thousands of people are marching in the streets of New York because they want climate action, and they understand Biden’s expansion of fossil fuels is squandering our last chance to avoid climate catastrophe,” he added.</p>

<p>Police also said they were looking into the likelihood that both the kids who died and the ones who were hospitalised had been exposed to an opiate of some kind over time.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Reports said that a 911 call came on Friday afternoon at around 2:45pm (local time) for four unresponsive children at Divino Niño Daycare.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Joseph Kenny, the New York police department's chief of detectives, said in a news conference: "This is an item that is commonly used by drug dealers when packaging large quantities of drugs."&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dr Ashwin Vasan, who is the city's health commissioner, said authorities believed the children had somehow come in contact "with a powerful substance which can intoxicate the recipient".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Edward Caban, the police commissioner, said, "We don't know exactly what happened to those babies."&nbsp;</p>

<p>A report by the Associated Press, citing an administration official&nbsp;speaking on condition of anonymity, said Zelensky will meet with Biden at the White House next Thursday (Sep 21).&nbsp;</p>

<p>The media report citing two anonymous congressional aides said that the Ukrainian president will also visit Capitol Hill to lobby for more US aid to fight the war against Russia.</p>

<p>Both Biden and Zelensky are also due to attend the meeting of the UNGA next week where the Ukrainian president is also planning to hold meetings with other visiting world leaders, reported CBS News.&nbsp;<br />

Zelensky’s last visit to Washington was back in December 2022 when he addressed a joint session of the US Congress which was his first&nbsp;known trip outside Ukraine since the Russian invasion, which began in February that year.&nbsp;<br />

<p>In August, Biden had called on the US Congress to send another $24 billion to Ukraine. The package would include $13.1 billion in military aid and $8.5 billion for humanitarian support for Ukraine. It also reportedly includes $2.3 billion for financing and to catalyse donors through the World Bank.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, the request comes amid signs of softening support for Ukraine among Americans and Congress becoming increasingly divided over providing additional funding for Ukraine as the war is well into its second year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Republican lawmakers have been pushing for broad federal spending cuts while some are looking to entirely stop money to Ukraine, mostly GOP members who are allied with former US president Donald Trump.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The FDA's recall comes as a precautionary measure to prevent potential serious infections from listeria.</p>

<p>Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause severe illness, particularly in vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, as it can affect the fetus, leading to miscarriages and stillbirths.&nbsp;</p>
