Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rishabh Pant have decided to part ways as the association finally comes to an end since 2016. As Thursday (Oct 31) is the retention deadline day, DC and Pant have separated with the star batter set to enter the IPL 2025 mega auction, to be held later in the year. As per a report in ESPNCricinfo, it is learnt that talks between DC's ownership group and Pant failed despite stretching over months and, hence, the star India keeper-batter has been released. However,&nbsp;it is understood that the 2020 runners-up will still&nbsp;attempt to buy back Pant via the Right To Match (RTM) card in the auction proceedings. The franchise will have two RTM cards available at the auction table.

With three capped and one uncapped retentions, DC's purse will be depleted by at least INR 470 million (INR 47 crore),&nbsp;they will have INR 730 million (INR 73 crore) to rebuild their squad at the IPL 2025 auction.

Pant joined the DC franchise in 2016 and soon became a regular in the line-up. Former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming has called for Kuldeep Yadav's inclusion in India's playing XI ahead of their T20 World Cup Super 8 encounter versus Afghanistan, in Barbados on Thursday (June 20). Rohit Sharma-led India have had a flawless run in the group stage, winning three before their last league game was washed out, and will start their run in the Super 8 as firm favourites to reach the semifinals.

Before their first game in the next round, Fleming said he feels Kuldeep will be essential for India, given the turning tracks of West Indies.

Kuldeep hasn't played a single game in the ongoing T20 WC, being held in West Indies and the USA. During India's USA leg, they went for an extra seamer, which led to Kuldeep's omission, however, they might have to tinker their winning combination for the upcoming Super 8 games.&nbsp;

Asked about the team selection for the T20 WC, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) coach said&nbsp;India have made some tough choices already, by dropping Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Thus, Fleming stated that the Men in Blue&nbsp;have gone ahead with a squad keeping the final of the tournament in mind (in Barbados on June 29), which might aid a lot of spin.

Fleming opined, "They had to make some hard calls while Jaiswal was a great player, that's leaving out top quality players is always difficult and having a plan and you stay to it when you've got great players sitting on the sidelines is always very difficult because it's tempting to keep looking where the grass is greener, but I like the job they've done, they've got through."

Speaking on the aggressive approach taken by the batters this season, Kuldeep, at a press event, said: "Sometimes you can get hit even on good balls, like it happened to me during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. (Heinrich) Klaasen and Abhishek hit sixes on good balls. But I believed in my skills, and I also got wickets that day. Now I enjoy my bowling more and I have learned all this from experience."

The spinner, however, said that he bowlers need to be more courageous and need to back their strength against trying to read batter's mind.

"I feel that the bowlers are trying more to read the batters' mind instead of sticking to their strengths. They are trying to bowl where the batter looks a little weak. But I think a bowler should understand his strengths and back his strengths. You can see Jasprit Bumrah, who backs his strengths. The way he bowls, any batter is on the back foot. He dominates the batters mentally. All these things become very important," he added.

As for his own performance, the spinner has taken 12 wickets in eight matches so far, joint-seventh most in the season. Talking about his team, DC are currently sixth on the points table with five wins and six losses from 11 games. They would want to win their remaining three league games to have a shot at the playoffs.
