Watch: Imran Khan can join popular Indian comedy show, says Reham Khan as she mocks her ex-husband

Popular Indian stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma has had a fairly eventful life. From an anonymous wannabe in Amritsar to a struggling comic in Mumbai to superstar, his journey has been fairly craggy, with reports of several psychological breakdowns and fights with team members, placing a huge question mark on his popularity.

Producer Mahavir Jain and director Mrighdeep Lamba(of 'Fukrey' fame) are now getting together for a biopic on the life and goof-ups of Kapil Sharma. The film to be titled 'Fun-kaar'(with the pun on fun) will be a no-holds-barred life story on Sharma leaving none of the sordid details out.

Says a source very close to the project, “Kapil has given Mahavir Jain the consent to make the film as honestly as humanly possible.”

While Kapil refused to comment on the biopic, I remember one of my conversations with Kapil where he had spoken on the possibility of his story being told in a film. “Sir, jab banegi toh poore shiddat se banegi(it will be done with great dignity). I don’t want anything to be hidden.Main vaisa aadmi nahin hoon.”

While Kapil is to be played by the comedian himself all the supporting roles will feature professional actors as Kapil’s colleagues including friend-turned-foe Sunil Grover. The real fun would be to get Grover to play himself.

The Pulwama attacks that led to the loss of lives of at least 40 CRPF personnel is one of the most-talked-about issue in the country at the moment. Among other things, Navjot Singh Sidhu was removed from his comedy show with Kapil Sharma after he made some comments that didn’t sit well with many.

In a media interaction, Sidhu said that nations cannot be held responsible “for the dastardly acts of terrorists” and that terrorists have no religion. He added, “There are good, the bad and the ugly. Every institution has them. Every nation has them. The ugly need to be punished. But individuals cannot be blamed for the dastardly act.”

He later claimed that his comments were “distorted” but he did stand with his statement that “Mere liye hamesha hi desh pehle tha (For me the country had always been first)… but I stand by what I said yesterday (Friday) and I cannot blame an entire nation for an act done by a few cowards…”

After Sidhu was removed from the show, Kapil Sharma came to his defence and said that this was no solution. He said, “There should be a permanent solution to this problem. If sacking Sidhu Ji was a solution, then Sidhu Ji is smart enough to walk out of the show himself. So, people are being misled with hashtags like ‘#BoycottSidhu’ and ‘#BoycottKapilSharmaShow’. Right now one should focus on the genuine problem and the attention of the youth should not be taken away from the real issue.”

In another video, Kapil added, “It’s all propaganda that keeps on running on Twitter and I don’t get involved in such things. I have started doing some good things and I want all of you to support me in this instead of creating controversies around my comments.”

As a result, #BoycottKapilSharma hashtag has been trending on Twitter India since morning.

Newlyweds Kapil-Ginni host star-studded reception in Mumbai

The recent big-fat Punjabi wedding of popular comic actor Kapil Sharma in Jalandhar, Punjab had a benevolent side to it.

Amidst fanfare and celebration, the comedian also ensured that the less privileged also are a part of his special day. The comedian reportedly donated all the excess food from his wedding to an NGO which distributes it to the lesser-privileged people in Jalandhar, Amritsar and the nearby cities.

Kapil pre-planned the tie-up with the NGO and made sure that the leftover food from the wedding kitchen and chafing dishes on the serving tables are collected, packed nicely and taken to the slum area to feed the hungry.

According to the sources when the NGO got to know about Kapil's wedding, the officials approached him as they knew that there will not only be a lavish spread of food, but also in excess quantity.

''When they told Kapil about their cause, he said yes without thinking twice. He told them to take the food from all his functions including the reception in Amritsar and distribute it,'' says the source.

The founder of NGO, Ankit Kawatra, confirms, ''Kapil is setting an example for others to follow by donating excess food from his big day. This will surely create a much-needed awareness for the cause and will motivate others. I am pleased to see that the person who makes the country laugh, took this opportunity to make others in need smile, too.''

The bride stuck to the traditional for her attire, and accessorised her look with maatha patti, nath and statement earrings and a layered neckpiece.

Kapil sported a green sherwani, with string adding some drama to his look. His triple kalgi on the turban and sword grabbed attention, as did his bearded look.

Guests were served Punjabi and Thai cuisine. The star attraction was a performance by Gurdas Maan.

The 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' star and Ginni wanted the wedding to be rooted in their culture which is why they chose Jalandhar for the wedding venue. Many of Kapil's co-stars and fellow comedians attended the wedding including Sumona Chakravarti and Krushna Abhishek.

TV star and comedian Kapil Sharma is now officially married. The popular TV host tied the knot with his lady love Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar at a traditional Punjabi ceremony, which was enlivened by popular singer Gurdas Maan. The venue had ample security considering Kapil is an established name in the industry and has a huge fan following. Invitations to the wedding itself had a barcode for entry. Kapil Sharma to marry Ginni Chatrath on 12 December; reveals the wedding card on Instagram

Its the season of weddings. After Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh confirmed their wedding date, now comedian and TV anchor Kapil Sharma has revealed that he would be tying the knot by the end of this year.

The stand-up comedian will get married to his longtime girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar on December 12, 2018.

The actor, while speaking to a news agency, revealed that he wanted the wedding to be a low key event but his fiancee's family are keen on a high profile event. ''The wedding is on December 12 in Jalandhar. That's Ginni's hometown. We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish."

Kapil reminisced his brother's wedding and said, "During the time when my brother married, I had not started earning well. We just went as a small baraat (wedding procession) and got bhabhi (sister-in-law) home. But by the time my sister got married, I had begun to earn well. So we had a fairly large wedding. It was lavish by our standards."

He further added, "For the past few weeks, I've been promoting my Punjabi film. I didn't want to talk about the wedding during the promotions, although the media repeatedly kept asking."

Kapil Sharma to tie the knot in December this year?

Things haven't been going well for Kapil Sharma the past few weeks. The actor had a meltdown on Twitter and abused an editor of a website and his former manager Preeti Simone for maligning him and his show. Soon his brand new show 'Family Time With Kapil Sharma' also went off air.

The comedian filed a complaint against the news agency and its editor along with his former managers Preeti and Neeti Simoes soon after. He tweeted the copy of his legal document, claiming that they were trying to tarnish his image and pull him down.

Reacting to Kapil's allegations, Preeti had stated the comedian is suffering from depression and required immediate medical help.

Now Zee News has unearthed the original complaint (which was in Marathi) where Kapil alleges that Preeti and Neeti Simone used to charge fans for being a part of the audience on Kapil's show.

Here's the full text.

Kapil revealed that after starting off his production house named K9 productions, he was looking for a manager who could manage his work. And that's how Preeti Simoes entered 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'. She had previously worked with him in his earlier days at a different channel. Kapil said that he hired her as a manager and a coordinator and she used to handle all my professional deals.

Right from the shooting schedules to guest coordination--everything was managed by Preeti. And for that, I paid her Rs 2 lakh a month. Soon, I hired her sister Neeti as well and as the show became popular and the channel benefitted from it, I raised their salaries, he said.

During the show, the Simoes sisters were close to me and they knew everything about my personal and professional life.

" In 2013, a girl named Anushree was hired as a talent manager for my show but after Simoes sisters insisted I fired her in 2016. Preeti and Neeti told me that Anushree charges money from people for coming on the show but once I met her at some programme and she instead revealed that Simoes sisters were actually doing it. She told me that they charge money from the people who want to sit in the audience and the rates vary depending on which row. People who sit in the front row are charged more."

Kapil in his complaint mentioned, "Preeti and Neeti were responsible for handling the celebrity guests and letting me know every detail beforehand but due to their lack of coordination and not informing me on time, several celebs were left miffed with me. They also tried to create misunderstanding about me and my other fellow actors."

He alleged, " Due to Preeti and Neeti's miscommunication, I suffered a lot as many celebs were upset with me and this hampered my public image. And surprisingly, all of this was told to me by Anushree. I realised that people I trusted the most were trying to pull me down and tarnish my image and my teammates were scared to tell me fearing a job loss."

"In 2016, I warned them to improve their work. However, soon after that, we had an argument and the Simoes sisters quit the job. But they came back to me after three days saying let bygones be bygones and we must work together. Again I found out that they are trying to hamper my work and after a heated exchange, they left the show in March 2017."

"Soon after their exit, a leading entertainment portal started publishing negative and false stories about me which would hamper my image in the industry. In September 2107, one of my close friends Gurjot met Preeti in a cafe where they talked about me and my work. Gurjot told me that in order to take revenge from me, Preeti has leaked the info to the entertainment portal. When my friend asked her not to do such things, she demanded Rs 25 lakh for it. The portal continued to carry negative stories about me and it affected my work."

"In February 2018, I confronted Preeti at her house and requested her to end all of this. She replied saying, "You are nothing without me in the industry and I will not leave you. I will swipe you away from the industry and if you want to end all of this then pay me Rs 25 lakh. I left her house after that."

"Meanwhile, the portal still continued with its negative stories about me and on April 6 I called Preeti but she did not respond. After that, I took the number of the journalist from Neeti, who Whatsapped me. I called the guy and soon it became heated. I contacted my lawyer Tanveer Nizam and decided to file a police complaint. My managers, Preeti and Neeti Simoes have tried to malign my image and hamper my work. They also tried to create misunderstanding between me and my fellow actors. the journalist spread negative stories about me which affected my mental health. The trio demanded Rs 25 lakh from me and this left me with no choice but to file a police complaint."

Sharma's nex show 'Family Time With Kapil Sharma' has been scrapped off for the month of April by Sony Television. It isn't clear yet whether the show will make a comeback on TV in May.

And surprisingly, all of this was told to me by Anushree. I realised that people I trusted the most were trying to pull me down and tarnish my image and my teammates were scared to tell me fearing a job loss." "In 2016, I warned them to improve their work. However, soon after that, we had an argument and the Simoes sisters quit the job. But they came back to me after three days saying let bygones be bygones and we must work together. Again I found out that they are trying to hamper my work and after a heated exchange, they left the show in March 2017." "Soon after their exit, a leading entertainment portal started publishing negative and false stories about me which would hamper my image in the industry. The portal continued to carry negative stories about me and it affected my work." "In February 2018, I confronted Preeti at her house and requested her to end all of this. She replied saying, "You are nothing without me in the industry and I will not leave you. I will swipe you away from the industry and if you want to end all of this then pay me Rs 25 lakh. I left her house after that." "Meanwhile, the portal still continued with its negative stories about me and on April 6 I called Preeti but she did not respond. The trio demanded Rs 25 lakh from me and this left me with no choice but to file a police complaint." Sharma's nex show 'Family Time With Kapil Sharma' has been scrapped off for the month of April by Sony Television. It isn't clear yet whether the show will make a comeback on TV in May.

Kapil Sharma went on to Twitter to abuse media and admitted that the account was not hacked, file complaint

It seems that it's getting too hard for Kapil Sharma, comedian-turned-actor, to sustain his popularity. The actor has taken the negative reviews of his new show 'Family Time with Kapil Sharma' to heart and rumours suggest that the show might go off air soon. On Friday evening when Kapil Sharma went on Twitter and abused media for giving negative feedback on his new show, most of his fans were shocked. A few hours later, the actor stated that his account was hacked explaining the abusive tweets. On Saturday, the actor-comedian dmitted that it was indeed him who had shared those posts and that his account was not hacked. In a recent tweet, the actor admitted that whatever he wrote, he wrote from his heart. He went on to say that his team deleted the tweet but he was not scared of the reporter(whom his tweets were targetted at) who wrote anything for money. "Maine jo b likha tha apne dil se likha tha.. it was my team who deleted my tweets .. But main is k***e bikaayu reporter se darne wala nahi hu.. he can write anything for anybody just for few bucks. Shameless," he tweeted. Maine jo b likha tha apne dil se likha tha.. it was my team who deleted my tweets ..
