Shilpa Shinde and Krushna Abhishek bat for Kapil Sharma, ask media to forgive him

Kapil Sharma has been in the news for the past week for all wrong reasons. The actor who has accused his former manager and a certain section of the media for defaming him and his new show- Family Time With Kapil- went on a Twitter rant on Friday hurling abuses at them. And while most have been criticising Kapil and his changed behaviour, TV stars Shilpa Shinde and Krushna Abhishek have come out in support of the actor.

On Monday, Shilpa took to Instagram to write in support of Kapil. Shilpa requested media to give Kapil Sharma some space and give the once the comedian respect. Referring to his past work, Shilpa urged everyone to forgive his recent mistakes.

Comedian Krushna Abhishek on Tuesday also spoke about Kapil and said that people needed to give him space as he was suffering from depression. Speaking to a national daily, the comedian said he felt bad for Kapil and blamed the failure of the film Firangi for his present state of mind and health. Firangi was produced by Kapil and directed by his friend Rajiev Dhingra.

Krushna, though admitted that Kapil had a drinking problem and felt he needed to stop tweeting for a while.

Interestingly, both Krushna and Shilpa are considered Kapil's rivals on TV. Shilpa has collaborated with Sunil Grover for a new web series called Dan Dana Dan. Grover has had a bitter and a very public spat with Kapil in 2016. On Colors channel, Krushna's show led to the closure of the immensely popular Comedy Nights With Kapil.I
