A news report, by Inside Sport, recently stated that Sania-Shoaib’s close friend has confirmed their separation. He revealed, "Yes, they are officially divorced now. I can’t disclose more than that but can confirm that they have separated." Meanwhile, both Sania and Shoaib have not responded to these rumours.

Talking of Sania's viral Instagram post, it might be perceived as a strong hint towards a split, however, it can also have any other meaning. There are chances that all this might be nothing but just a difficult phase in their relationship.

The rumours spread like wildfire when recently Shoaib was clueless on being asked about his wife's tennis academies and their locations. In one of the recent Pakistani cricket shows ‘Ask The Pavilion’, Malik's reaction caught everyone's attention when he said, "I don’t really have proper information about the locations.” He added, "I have never been to any of those academies." The former Pakistan captain's response shocked ex-pacer and panellist Waqar Younis who said, "What sort of husband you are?"

One still hopes for all this to be sheer rumours and nothing else!

Indian tennis icon Sania Mirza and Pakistan's veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik remain one of the most-loved couples. The two got married in 2010 and were blessed with a baby boy Izhaan Mirza Malik in late 2018. Nonetheless, the couple has made heads turn recently due to divorce rumours. It is being said that their marriage has hit rock bottom and the couple have separated. However, nothing is official. Sania, who is living apart from her husband Shoaib but co-parenting their son Izhaan, remains active on social media platforms amid the rumours. Recently, she shared an adorable picture with her son Izhaan captioned, "The moments that get me through the hardest days". Since then, the power couple's fans have been left concerned. In one of the recent Pakistani cricket shows ‘Ask The Pavilion’, Malik's reaction caught everyone's attention when he said, "I don’t really have proper information about the locations.” He added, "I have never been to any of those academies." The former Pakistan captain's response shocked ex-pacer and panellist Waqar Younis who said, "What sort of husband you are?" One still hopes for all this to be sheer rumours and nothing else! ×

Instagram probes issues after users complain their accounts are suspended

Supernova is the actual explosion of a star! When a star reaches end of its lifetime, depending on its size, it explodes. The enrgy gets dissipated in all directions in the space. And remnants of the explosion can be seen from thousands of light years away.

NASA has shared an image of aftermath of a supernova. The image is a resplendent mosaic of colours with a backdrop of midnight-black-Space where thousands of stars are shining brightly.

The image has been clicked by NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory telescope. The space agency has posted it on its Instagram handle.

"This composite image shows the remains of a supernova, around 9,000 light-years from Earth, in three bands of X-ray light detected by @NASAChandraXRay, with low energy X-rays in red, medium in green, and the highest in blue," NASA says in its post.

"Image description: Blank space as black as #Midnight is dotted with tiny white stars across the image. A swirling labyrinth of colours of blue, green, yellow, purple, and red makes up the center of the photo surrounding the neutron star in bright blue," NASA wrote.

Meta, more colloquially known as Facebook has been ordered by the UK antitrust watchdog Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) to sell GIPHY Inc. This is the second instance when Meta has been ordered to sell the popular gif library.

“We are disappointed by the CMA’s decision but accept today’s ruling as the final word on the matter. We are grateful to the Giphy team during this uncertain time for their business, and wish them every success,” said a Meta spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Stuart McIntosh, chair of the independent inquiry into the buyout said, “This deal would significantly reduce competition in two markets. It has already resulted in the removal of a potential challenger in the UK display ad market, while also giving Meta the ability to further increase its substantial market power in social media."

“The only way this can be addressed is by the sale of Giphy. This will promote innovation in digital advertising, and also ensure UK social media users continue to benefit from access to Giphy.”

As reported by WION, the watchdog, in November last year issued the first order to Meta citing the deal could harm the competitors. Reportedly, Meta bought GIPHY in 2020 for an estimated $400 million to integrate it with its other platforms viz. Instagram and WhatsApp.

In the aftermath of the chaotic events of January 6, 2021, former US President Donald Trump was barred from most social media platforms. Nearly two years down the line, Meta (more colloquially known as Facebook) is expected to decide on whether to reinstate the Republican leader on the platform or not.

Reportedly, Nick Clegg, Meta’s president of global affairs, has been charged with the duty to decide if Trump can return to Facebook and Instagram in 2023. The top Meta official, at a recent public event, stated he will make the final call in consultation with CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

“It’s not a capricious decision. We will look at the signals related to real-world harm to make a decision whether at the two-year point which is early January next year whether Trump gets reinstated to the platform,” said Clegg.

It is pertinent to note that Trump was banned from nearly every major social media platform in the aftermath of the January 6 Capitol riots where Trump supporters allegedly attempted to overturn the election results. The Republican leader was accused of posting messages online to incite violence.

While Twitter banned the Republican leader for perpetuity, Facebook imposed a two-year ban to be later re-evaluated. However, since the ban was imposed, much water has flown under the bridge.

× Trump has formed his own social media platform called Truth Social where he routinely gives an unabridged piece of his mind. While Trump has not commented on a return to Facebook, he has made it clear that he is not returning to the microblogging platform Twitter. “I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on Truth. I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on Truth. The bottom line is, no, I am not going back to Twitter,” Trump said in an interview earlier this year. Read more: Is Donald Trump's social media platform in financial trouble?
A Bengaluru-based woman was arrested for allegedly killing his 27-year-old fiancé after he leaked her naked photographs online and shared them with his friends.

The victim was identified as Vikash Rajan, a doctor by profession. He completed his MBBS degree from Ukraine.

Rajan was working in southern Bengaluru city before moving from neighbouring Chennai city. Besides his full-time job at a private hospital, he also used to guide students interested in pursuing medicine courses abroad.

He was in a relationship for two years with Pratibha, an architect whom he met through social media.

Later, the two started a live-in relationship and even planned to get married. In fact, both families had agreed to the wedding.

According to the Deputy Police Commissioner for South East Bengaluru, CK Baba, the woman was enraged after she found her nude pictures on Instagram.

Speaking to the media, Baba said that when Pratibha confronted Rajan, he said that had created a fake ID and posted the pictures "just for fun".

A furious Pratibha then decided to teach him a lesson, police said.

On September 10, Pratibha planned a party with her friends and took Rajan along.

The world of tennis was in a state of shock on Thursday evening (September 15) with Swiss maestro Roger Federer announcing his retirement from the game after this year's Laver Cup, scheduled later this month. Federer, a former world number one and a winner of 20 Grand Slams, is one of the iconic players of all time and his retirement leaves a huge void in the tennis arena.

"As many of you know, the past three years have presented me with challenges in the form of injuries and surgeries. I've worked hard to return to full competitive form. But I also know my body's capacities and limits, and its message to me lately has been clear. I am 41 years old. I have played more than 1,500 matches over 24 years. Tennis has treated me more generously than I ever would have dreamt, and now I must recognise when it is time to end my competitive career," Federer had tweeted.

The tennis fraternity has, thus, lost the services of both Serena Williams -- whose last appearance came in the recently-held US Open 2022 edition -- and Federer. Over the years, Serena (winner of 23 Grand Slams) and Federer have formed a great equation on and off the court and the American star lavished huge praise on the Swiss player.

“I wanted to find the perfect way to say this, as you so eloquently put this game to rest - perfectly done, just like your career. I have always looked up to you and admired you. Our paths were always so similar, so much the same. You inspired countless millions and millions of people - including me - and we will never forget. I applaud you and look forward to all that you do in the future. Welcome to the retirement club. And thank you for being you @rogerfederer,” Serena wrote on Instagram.

❤️ pic.twitter.com/YxtVWrlXIF — Roger Federer (@rogerfederer) September 15, 2022 × The tennis fraternity has, thus, lost the services of both Serena Williams -- whose last appearance came in the recently-held US Open 2022 edition -- and Federer.
For the first time, the popular messaging app Snapchat has rolled out a new feature that will allow parents to see whom their teens are talking to.

The feature has been launched at a time when social media companies have been criticised for their lack of protection for kids.

After facing accusations of exposing young users to bullying or steering them toward harmful content, tech companies such as Snap and its tech peers TikTok and YouTube testified before US lawmakers in October.

Following the leaked internal documents by a Facebook whistleblower that she said showed the app harmed some teens’ mental health and body image, Instagram also testified in a Senate hearing in December over children’s online safety.

Also read | In US lawsuit, 16-year-old girl takes on Snapchat for failing to safeguard users

The new feature in Snapchat, called Family Centre, will only be activated with the consent of teenagers. Once it is activated, parents will be able to view their kids’ friends list and whom they have messaged on the app in the past seven days.

While will not be able to see private content or messages sent to and from their teens, they can confidentially report any concerning accounts.

According to Jeremy Voss, Snap's head of messaging products, “It strikes the right approach for enhancing safety and well-being, while still protecting autonomy and privacy.”

Instagram had also launched a similar feature that allowed parents to view what accounts their teens follow and how much time they spend on the app.

Once it is activated, parents will be able to view their kids’ friends list and whom they have messaged on the app in the past seven days. While will not be able to see private content or messages sent to and from their teens, they can confidentially report any concerning accounts. According to Jeremy Voss, Snap's head of messaging products, “It strikes the right approach for enhancing safety and well-being, while still protecting autonomy and privacy.” Instagram had also launched a similar feature that allowed parents to view what accounts their teens follow and how much time they spend on the app. (With inputs from agencies) Watch WION's live TV here: ×
