Ashwin told, "Between 2018 and 2020, I contemplated giving up the sport at various points. I thought, 'I have put in a lot of effort, but it is not coming through.' The harder I tried, the farther it felt. Especially with athletic pubalgia and the patellar tendonitis (injury concerns) - I used to bowl six balls and then I used to be gasping for breath. And there would be pain all over the place.&nbsp;

"So you needed to make adjustments. When the knee pain got excruciating, the next ball I would probably jump less. When I jumped less, obviously the force needs to be produced through the core and the back and the shoulders, so the pubalgia would act up. So the third ball I would be extra side-on to try to use the hips. "Immediate contacts of anyone testing positive for Covid-19 in the bubble during the South Africa-India series will not need to isolate and leave the bubble, rather will be allowed to quarantine in the hotel room as long as they are clinically stable," the cricket board added. 
 
"These are part of the `strict` norms for the Bio-secure Environment (BSI) put in place by Cricket South Africa in coordination with BCCI as the Indian contingent is set to arrive in Johannesburg later this week," the cricket board said.

Cricket South Africa on Saturday confirmed that the India Tour will continue as originally scheduled, with a few adjustments to the logistical arrangements, such as the arrival time of the India Team.

Pursuant to a very cordial relationship between the Board of Cricket South Africa and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the tour is now confirmed and the arrival timings of the India team will be moved out by a week, to allow for effective logistical planning.

With the Proteas men's team having already participated in no less than eight international cricket BSEs, CSA is pleased to announce that this tour will also take place under the strictest Covid-19 guidelines, as contained in the BSE protocols.

India will play three (3) One Day Internationals and three (3) Tests against the Proteas. However, the four (4) scheduled T20 Matches will be rescheduled in the new year, as part of the joint MoU.

CSA is also pleased to confirm that the allocation of match venues will still be in respect of the Bubble Safe Environment (BSEs) and therefore the decision on the allocations will take into account the need for safer playing environments.

CSA has instituted these world-class standards and measures to ensure that all players, staff and officials are protected within this environment. CSA's main focus is to safeguard the cricket biosphere by managing strict entry standards and limited movement outside of its cordon. CSA will confirm the venues in the next 48 hours.
