India strongly slammed Pakistan in its Right of Reply at United Nations General Assembly after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan raked up Kashmir issue during his virtual address to the assembly. India said that Pakistan had established history of supporting terrorists. Sneha Dubey, First Secretary at UNGA said that terrorists enjoyed "free pass" in Pakistan.

"Regrettably, this is not the first time the leader of Pakistan has misused platforms provided by the UN to propagate false and malicious propaganda against my country, and seeking in vain to divert the world's attention from the sad state of his country where terrorists enjoy free pass while the lives of ordinary people, especially those belonging to the minority communities, are turned upside down," said Dubey.

"Member States are aware that Pakistan has an established history and policy of harbouring, aiding and actively supporting terrorists. This is a country that has been globally recognized as one openly supporting, training, financing and arming terrorists as a matter of State policy. It holds the ignoble record of hosting the largest number of terrorists proscribed by the UN Security Council," she added.

She said that Imran Khan statements were an attempt to "spew falsehoods". She also slammed him for commenting on internal matters of India.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan asks world leaders to give legitimacy to Taliban at 76th UNGA summit

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan delivered his address to the United Nations General Assembly's 76th session early Saturday, emphasising the need for the international community to recognise that the "only way" ahead in Afghanistan is to "strengthen and stabilise the current Taliban government."

"There is a massive humanitarian problem on the horizon. And this will have major consequences not only for Afghanistan's neighbours but for the entire world "he stated

Imran Khan predicted that a destabilised and chaotic Afghanistan will "return to being a haven for international terrorists," pointing out that this is precisely why the US entered Afghanistan in the first place.

He was the seventh on the list of speakers to address the UNGA on Friday.

Asim Iftikhar, Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson, on Friday, said that "the situation in Afghanistan, and other areas of common concern, including combating Islamophobia, corruption, illicit financial flows, as well as climate change," will be areas of focus, according to Geo TV.

In all areas, Pakistan's role in shielding and promoting the Afghan Taliban is apparent.

Throughout, Pakistan's goal was to use the Taliban as a stooge to limit Indian influence in Afghanistan and, depending on the circumstances, could increase the conflict in Kashmir.

Pakistan has assured that its eastern frontier is protected from two old fears: Afghan alignment with India and a refugee influx that could spark destabilisation among Pakistan's Pashtuns, by assisting the Taliban in regaining power.

Yesterday, while US Vice President Kamala Harris discussed Pakistan's role in cross-border terrorism with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Washington, DC, her top diplomat was hosting Pakistan's foreign minister in New York and "appreciating" Islamabad's help in Afghanistan.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with his Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mehmood Qureshi. Pakistan is a key ally of the Taliban regime. Blinken also held talks with the ministers of four other veto-wielding Security Council members, including China and Russia.

Experts questioned Washington's genuineness in dealing with Pakistan, questioning whether it was altering its tone depending on the audience when developing its approach to the now-estranged South Asian partner.

New Zealand's last-minute withdrawal from the tour of Pakistan caused a devastating blow to the South Asian nation's hopes of staging regular international cricket tournaments at home, which were suspended in the aftermath of a 2009 terror attack on the Sri Lankan side that wounded at least six players.

Pakistan's image has taken a nosedive as the abrupt withdrawal is deemed as another era of isolation for Pakistan and a global humiliation, which is quite shocking to witness as the nation is governed by a former cricketing legend Imran Khan. Our shrines are being destroyed; our Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) insulted; the Holy Quran burnt – and all this in the name of freedom of speech," Khan said in his unsual demeanour, adding, "and the one country in the world today where, I am sad to say, the state sponsors Islamophobia, is India. The reason behind this is RSS ideology that unfortunately rules India today."

To this end, Khan urged the Assembly to declare an “International Day to Combat Islamophobia” and build a coalition to fight this scourge.

He continued, "This extremist ideology was founded in 1920s. The RSS founding fathers were inspired by the Nazis and they adopted their concepts of racial purity and supremacy. While the Nazis hate was directed at the Jews, the RSS directs it towards the Muslims and to a lesser extent towards the Christians."

"They believe that India is exclusively for Hindus and others are not equal citizens. The secularism of Gandhi and Nehru has been replaced by the dream of creating a Hindu Rashtra by subjugating, even cleansing India’s 200 million Muslims and other minorities."

"In 1992, the RSS destroyed the Babri Mosque; in 2002, some 2000 Muslims were slaughtered in Gujarat, and this was under the watch of Chief Minister Modi; and in 2007, over 50 Muslims were burnt alive by RSS arsonists aboard the Samjhota Express Train.

"The Hindutva ideology is set to marginalize almost 300 million human beings – Muslims, Christians and Sikhs. This is unprecedented in history and this does not augur well for the future of India as we all know that marginalisation of human beings leads to their radicalization. "

Imran Khan even appropriated the ill-famous Tablighi Jamaat episode and abused it for his own purpose. He said, "Muslims were falsely blamed, vilified and victimised for spreading the coronavirus. They were denied medical attention on many occasions, their businesses were boycotted."

Nothing is true.

And then came, his more-than-usual Kashmir diatribe.

"For over 72 years, India has illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of the Kashmiri people, and in blatant violation of the resolutions of the Security Council and indeed its own commitments to the people of Kashmir," he said.

"On 5th August last year, India illegally and unilaterally sought to change the status of the occupied territories and deployed additional troops, bringing the total number to 900,000, to impose a military siege on 8 million Kashmiris. All Kashmiri political leaders were incarcerated; about 13,000 Kashmiri youth were abducted and thousands tortured; a complete curfew was imposed, accompanied by a total communications blackout.

"The international community must investigate these grave violations and prosecute the Indian civil and military personnel involved in state terrorism and serious crimes against humanity, being perpetrated, I am sad to say, with complete impunity."

He continued, "The brave Kashmiri people will never submit to Indian occupation and oppression. Their struggle is indigenous. They are fighting for a just cause and generation after generation have laid down their lives to rid themselves of Indian occupation.
The government and people of Pakistan are committed to standing by and supporting their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their legitimate struggle for self-determination.

"In order to divert attention from its illegal actions and atrocities in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India is playing a dangerous game of upping the military ante against Pakistan in a nuclearised environment.

"There will be no durable peace and stability in South Asia until the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is resolved on the basis of international legitimacy. Kashmir has been rightly described as a 'nuclear flash point'.

Pakistan has always called for a peaceful solution. To this end, India must rescind the measures it has instituted since 5 August 2019, end its military siege and other gross human rights violations, and agree to resolve the Jammu & Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and of course the wishes of the people of Kashmir."

Pakistan's false claims did not stop here. The prime minister said Islamabad wanted a peaceful solution in Afghanistan too.

"I have consistently maintained over the past two decades that there is no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan. The only way forward was and is a political settlement which involves the full spectrum of Afghanistan’s political actors," he said.

Khan added, "Pakistan is deeply gratified that it has fulfilled its part of the responsibility. The Afghan leaders must now seize this historic opportunity to achieve reconciliation and restore peace in their war-torn country."

Khan batted for a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine.

He said, "Pakistan continues to support a two-state solution – in line with the UN General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, within the internationally agreed parameters, and they are ; pre-1967 borders, and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the Capital of a united, contiguous and independent Palestinian state."

Imran Khan said he considered Pakistan’s response to the coronavirus pandemic as a success story.

"However, we are still not out of the woods, like no country is out of the woods today," he added.

In recent comments to Afghan media representatives, which were aired on Thursday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan government cannot be held responsible for Taliban's actions in Afghanistan. He added Islamabad is not a spokesperson for the group.

The prime minister also said Pakistan will have good relations with whoever the citizens of Afghanistan choose.

As per a Dawn report, Khan said, "What the Taliban are doing or aren't doing has nothing to do with us. We are not responsible, neither are we spokespersons for the Taliban."

Accused of being a Taliban supporter several times, the PM's remarks seem to be an attempt to distance itself from the group.

It is also in continuation to warnings by the country's leaders that it would not accept the responsibility if it was blamed for any setbacks in the Afghan peace process.

Distancing Islamabad from the developments in Kabul, Khan said, "All we want is peace in Afghanistan."

The people of Afghanistan had a choice to make, either pursue military solution or a political settlement where there is an inclusive government. "(The latter) is the only solution," he added.

"There are three million Afghan refugees in Pakistan, almost all of them are Pashtuns and most will have sympathies with the Taliban. How is Pakistan supposed to check, who is going over there to fight when we have about 30,000 people crossing into Afghanistan every day. How is Pakistan going to check that?" Khan asked.

Khan said it was not in Pakistan's interest to have civil war in Afghanistan. "What interest could Pakistan have in backing someone to take over Afghanistan?" the PM asked.

As per a Dawn report, Khan said, "What the Taliban are doing or aren't doing has nothing to do with us. We are not responsible, neither are we spokespersons for the Taliban."
