On the flight, Depp screamed obscenities at Heard, said she liked having sex on film sets and called her a "go-getter slut and a whore", said Sasha Wass, lawyer for the Sun.<br />

<p>Hollywood star Johnny Depp accused his ex-wife Amber Heard of lying about him beating her up, and told London`s High Court on Tuesday that she had actually struck him.<br />

Depp, the 57-year-old star of the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films, is suing The Sun`s publisher, News Group Newspapers, and its executive editor, Dan Wootton, for libel over an article Wootton wrote in April 2018 calling him a "wife beater".<br />
<br />
The paper`s lawyers said they would show the claim was true and that he had beaten actress Heard, causing her to fear for her life, during violent rages brought on by alcohol or drugs, sometimes when he had falsely accused her of infidelity.<br />
<br />
"For the avoidance of any doubt, I have never abused Ms Heard, or, indeed, any other woman, in my life," Depp said in a witness statement in which he characterised his ex-wife as a calculating, emotionally dishonest narcissist.<br />
<br />
Wearing a dark suit and glasses and speaking in a deep clear tone, Depp gave evidence at the beginning of the case at London`s High Court. Heard, who arrived wearing a red scarf tied around her face, is also due to give evidence.<br />
<br />
In a written statement outlining Depp`s case, his lawyer David Sherborne said Heard had first aired the abuse allegations in May 2016, saying it was hard to think of "more extreme or violent" claims of abuse than she would make during the trial.<br />
<br />
"The Claimant`s position is clear; Ms Heard`s allegations are complete lies," Sherborne said. "The Claimant was not violent towards Ms Heard, it was she who was violent to him."<br />
<br />
In papers submitted to the court, Depp`s team also said Heard had begun an affair with Tesla chief executive Elon Musk in early 2015 shortly after they had got married and had engaged in at least one extra-marital relationship with her co-stars, with actor James Franco named.<br />
<br />
Appearing in the witness box, American Depp said he was the victim of attacks from his ex-wife and had himself sought to avoid confrontation.<br />
<br />
"I would try to go to my own corner as it were," he said. Asked about one argument, Depp said: "It escalated and it got physical ... Miss Heard struck me."<br />

<strong>THREE-WEEK CASE</strong><br />
<br />
The couple met on the set of the 2011 film 'The Rum Diary' and married in February 2015. Heard filed for divorce after 15 months, and days later obtained a restraining order against Depp. Their divorce was finalised in 2017 when the restraining order was dismissed.<br />

Cross-examined by lawyer Sasha Wass, Depp agreed he had taken "every drug known to man" by the age of 14 and said he had a difficult childhood and struggled to come to terms with his fame and success.<br />
<br />
"Even when I speak my own name it sounds foreign to me," he said.<br />
<br />
The court was shown mobile phone footage taken by Heard which showed an angry Depp slamming kitchen cupboard doors and pouring himself a "mega" glass of wine.<br />
<br />
"I can only say I was upset, very upset," he said, adding it was not a pleasant video to watch.<br />
<br />
Wass said he would turn into an alternate persona which he himself described as "the monster", which was brought on by anger, jealousy or drugs.<br />
<br />
He said "the monster" Heard referred to was when he yelled back at her in arguments.<br />
<br />
"It would become a screaming match and that was the monster," he said. "It`s not Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde."<br />
<br />
Depp denied Wass`s suggestion that he had a "nasty, angry side".<br />
<br />
Depp is also being sued by a crew member from one of his films in 2018 who accused him of punching him twice in the ribs, the court heard.<br />
<br />
Wass recounted a statement from actress Ellen Barkin, who said Depp had thrown a bottle of wine across a hotel room on one occasion and had got jealous and angry.<br />
<br />
"Untrue," Depp replied, saying Barkin held a grudge. "I do not have an anger management problem."<br />
<br />
In his witness statement, Depp said Heard had thrown a vodka bottle at him, severing his finger off, and that his ex-wife or one of her friends had defecated in their bed.<br />

Maggie said with a laugh, "I just want to say, we did consider taking you to therapy because you were in so much pain over Justin Bieber. It was so intense, it caused you so much pain."<br />

The Grammy winner said, "With `listen before I go,` I was worried that people would hear it and kind of be triggered by it and be offended, but all I`ve seen are fans talking about how much it`s made them feel comforted. And hearing someone going through the same thing you`re going through doesn`t make you feel worse about yourself, it makes you feel a little better."<br />

Eilish is feeling much more positive now. She remembered, "There was a period where I cried every single day of my life when I was like 13, 14 and 15. Every single day I cried. And 17, 18, I cried barely at all. I`m proud to say I barely cry anymore and it`s one thing I`ve overcome. This is a big deal. Not that it`s wrong to cry, but it`s a good thing I feel happier in my life and I don`t want to cry anymore," added Eilish.<br />

<p>After facing criticism on taking up a role of a transgender character in an upcoming untitled Hollywood film, actress Halle Berry is reported to have pulled out.</p>

<p>It started when in an Instagram live interview, the Oscar-winning actress had revealed that she is in the running for a role of a transgender person. She said, "[The film is about] a character where the woman is a trans character, so she's a woman that transitioned into a man” and added, “She's a character in a project I love that I might be doing."</p>

<p>Soon after the news came out, Halle met with criticism on social media with people highlighting the problem of the cisgender actors playing transgender characters and not giving a chance to actors from that community.</p>

<p>After the heavy criticism, Halle apologized and tweeted that she was no longer considering the role. “Over the weekend I had the opportunity to discuss my consideration of an upcoming role as a transgender man, and I’d like to apologize for those remarks. As a cisgender woman, I now understand that I should not have considered this role, and that the transgender community should undeniably have the opportunity to tell their own stories,” she wrote on Twitter.</p>

One of the most anticipated films of the year, Christopher Nolan's 'Tenet' was scheduled to get a theatrical release this summer. And with cinema halls reopening from July in US and UK, fans of the filmmaker were looking forward to watching the film on the film in July itself. But that's not going to happen anymore.<br />

<p>According to Variety, the USD 200 million budget film was initially slated to hit the theatres on July 17 but was later postponed to July 31. The film was primed to reignite the fire of moviegoing after a long COVID-19 induced shutdown.<br />
"Warner Bros. is committed to bringing `Tenet` to audiences in theatres, on the big screen, when exhibitors are ready and public health officials say it is time," Variety quoted Warner Bros. spokesperson as saying.<br />
<br />
"At this moment, what we need to be is flexible, and we are not treating this as a traditional movie release. We are choosing to open the movie mid-week to allow audiences to discover the film on their own time, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period far beyond the norm, to develop a very different yet successful release strategy," the spokesperson added.<br />
<br />
The latest push back in the release of the action-thriller comes after the New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the theatres in the state will reopen in phase 4.</p>

The film was primed to reignite the fire of moviegoing after a long COVID-19 induced shutdown. "Warner Bros. is committed to bringing `Tenet` to audiences in theatres, on the big screen, when exhibitors are ready and public health officials say it is time," Variety quoted Warner Bros. spokesperson as saying. "At this moment, what we need to be is flexible, and we are not treating this as a traditional movie release. We are choosing to open the movie mid-week to allow audiences to discover the film on their own time, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period far beyond the norm, to develop a very different yet successful release strategy," the spokesperson added. The latest push back in the release of the action-thriller comes after the New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the theatres in the state will reopen in phase 4. "Gladiator was a unique experience because the script that they had was so bad -- it was just so bad," Crow said to Fallon.<br />

"The producer did not know I was able to already get a copy, but the thing he said was, `I don`t want to send you the document we have because you won`t respond to it. But I want to encourage you to have a meeting with (director) Ridley Scott. And here`s the thing I want you to think about: It`s 180 A.D. You`re a Roman general. And you`re being directed by Ridley Scott," the veteran actor added.</p>

<p>It seems like Australian singer-songwriter Sia is taking some heat. The 44-year-old singer took to Twitter on Friday to respond to a fan`s since-deleted tweet featuring a photo of Nicki Minaj, asking Sia whether she would ever collaborate with the rapper, per E! News.<br />

"I love [Cardi B] and although this isn`t a collaboration, I would love to COLLAB with her any day," wrote Sia, tagging rapper Cardi B in the post.The singer quickly received backlash from followers, who also used the hashtag "#SiaIsOverParty."<br />

One follower commented, "SIA GIRL YOU NEED TO DELETE I`M NOT PLAYING.""THATS NOT CARDI," another Twitter user wrote.<br />

I was detained when standing in solidarity, as were many of the final vanguard within Santa Monica. We were given the option to leave, and were informed that if we did not retreat, we would be arrested. When many did turn to leave, we found another line of police officers blocking our route, at which point, they started zip tying us. It needs to be stated that as a straight white man, and a public figure, the institutional consequences of my detainment are nothing in comparison to others within the movement. This is ABSOLUTELY not a narrative about me, and I hope the media doesn’t make it such. This is, and will be, a time about standing ground near others as a situation escalates, providing educated support, demonstrating and doing the right thing. This is precisely the time to contemplate what it means to stand as an ally. I hope others in my position do as well. I noticed that there are cameras that roll within the police cruisers during the entirety of our detainment, hope it helps. I’ll speak no more on the subject, as I’m (1) not well versed enough to do so, (2) not the subject of the movement, and (3) uninterested in drawing attention away from the leaders of the #BLM movement. <p>John Cusack had gone on a bike to be a part of the protests and as he filmed the loot and burning of cars, he said that police officers came at him. In the video, someone assumed to be an officer, can be heard yelling "Get the fuck out of here!" along with what sounds like a baton striking Cusack's bike multiple times.&nbsp;</p>

Red carpets, the lifeblood of movie premieres and award shows, thrive on the buzz of glamorous actors, show-stopping gowns and screaming fans.<br />
<br />
But as Hollywood grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, the red carpets of the near future will look very different - if they happen at all.<br />
<br />
Crowded with photographers, A-list stars, publicists and fans begging for selfies, red carpets are a crucial element in the Hollywood publicity machine. But what makes them so compelling to watch is what makes them so difficult to manage in the era of social distancing.<br />
<br />
"Everybody is desperate to get back to a normal version, where we get to be with people in person, shoulder to shoulder," said one Hollywood publicist who preferred not to be named.<br />
<br />
"I don`t see it coming back fully until we`ve got some kind of vaccine. Who knows when people are going to want to engage physically in personal interactions, let alone the travel to get to those places?," the publicist said.<br />
<br />
A big test will come in July when Christopher Nolan thriller "Tenet" for AT&amp;T Inc`s Warner Bros. and Walt Disney Co`s live-action "Mulan" are scheduled as the first big film releases since the new coronavirus shuttered movie theaters worldwide and studios moved the rollout of dozens of films to the end of 2020 or into 2021.<br />

Warner Bros. and Disney have not announced their publicity plans for the two movies, nor have the organizers of television`s Emmy Awards, which are due to take place in Los Angeles in September.<br />

<strong>PLEXIGLASS AND PENS</strong><br />

Los Angeles event planners 15|40 Productions, which has designed more than 200 Hollywood premieres, is consulting with several studios on plans that incorporate social distancing.<br />
<br />
"We took the red carpet and we had to re-envision how it would work post-quarantine and keeping people apart," said Craig Waldman, president of 15|40 Productions.<br />
<br />
TV crews and photographers, who usually elbow for room, would be separated into pens divided by plexiglass, while distance barriers would keep media people at least six feet (two meters) away from actors. Celebrities would interact with fans via giant LED screens.<br />
<br />
"Having a live fan element is going to be a thing for the future, once a vaccine is found," said Waldman.<br />
<br />
That means a big reduction in media outlets on the carpet, and plenty of masks.<br />
<br />
"I don`t know that we will see Emmy-nominated actresses walking the Emmy red carpet wearing masks," said Hollywood Reporter writer Chris Gardner. "I do think some people - maybe photographers, also journalists - may have to ask questions through masks."<br />
<br />
The biggest unknown is whether A-listers will turn up.<br />
<br />
Mike Zimet, whose New York security company`s client list includes actors Alec Baldwin and Lin-Manuel Miranda, says tight safeguards will need to be in place.<br />
<br />
"I know one (celebrity) I`m protecting right now is staying away from everything," said Zimet, who doesn`t expect red carpets to return in New York until fall, or possibly winter.<br />
<br />
Zimet said celebrities "have to decide if your health, of the family and yourself, is worth it."<br />

Meanwhile, publicists have been getting creative with virtual premieres and interviews in which actors appear on Zoom or Skype from their homes.<br />

It`s worked well for small-budget films, cutting travel costs and allowing actors to be more relaxed.<br />

"They are not in an uncomfortable chair with lights all around them. It`s more like chit-chatting with a sort of new friend they have just met on their computer," said a publicist who has organized several virtual events.<br />

But it`s a far cry from the excitement of a bustling red carpet.<br />

"This virtual premiere is quite, quite strange," British actress Kristin Scott Thomas said on Zoom from a sofa at home, promoting her film "Military Wives."<br />
