President Donald Trump said on Tuesday (May 12) that reporting suggesting Iran is ‘doing well’ militarily in its conflict with the United States amounts to treason. “When the Fake News says that the Iranian enemy is doing well, Militarily, against us, it’s virtual TREASON in that it is such a false, and even preposterous, statement. They are aiding and abetting the enemy! All it does is give Iran false hope when none should exist,” Trump posted on social media during the first leg of his flight to China.“Only Losers, Ingrates, and Fools are able to make a case against America!” he added. The comments mark an escalation in Trump’s rhetoric toward the media amid the ongoing conflict with Iran. It is not the first time he has accused critics of treason during the war, though previous remarks were not directed specifically at journalists. CNN has reported that Trump has also pushed the Justice Department to subpoena reporters covering the conflict to identify their sources.
‘Israel fearing that Trump will strike a ‘bad deal’ with Iran’
Meanwhile, concerns are growing in Israel about potential US-Iran negotiations. Israeli sources told CNN they fear Trump may strike a deal with Iran that does not fully address key security issues that triggered the conflict. Those concerns include the possibility of an agreement that leaves Iran’s nuclear program partially intact while excluding restrictions on ballistic missiles and support for regional proxy groups. Early in the conflict, Trump had outlined broader goals including dismantling Iran’s missile program, ending support for regional militias, and eliminating its nuclear capabilities. However, recent negotiations have reportedly focused more narrowly on uranium enrichment and maritime issues such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz. A source familiar with the talks said Israel believes issues like missiles and proxy forces “are probably off the table,” leading Israeli leaders to prioritize Iran’s nuclear program as the most urgent threat. https://www.wionews.com/videos/the-simple-formula-scientists-link-to-longer-life-olive-oil-coffee-and-smart-eating-1778607890044/embed “There is real concern that Trump will reach a bad deal,” one Israeli official told CNN. Another senior Israeli official said Israel remains on high alert and is closely monitoring negotiations, adding, “We will be happy if there will be no deal, we will be happy if the siege on Hormuz continues, and we will be happy if Iran gets a few more strikes,” while noting that final decisions rest with Trump. Escalation remains possible, the official added, “if the Iranians continue to play and drag negotiations.” Disclaimer: WION takes utmost care to accurately and responsibly report ongoing conflicts in West Asia involving Israel, Iran, the US, Gulf nations, and non-state actors like Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, Islamic State, and others. U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Beijing this week, as both countries seek to stabilize a relationship strained by tensions over trade, Taiwan and the Iran war. White House correspondent Trevor Hunnicutt explains.

Why Trump's Return to Beijing After Nearly a Decade Matters Globally

The White House, in an aggressive post on X, has offered a wild explanation for why US President Donald Trump once again seemed to be dozing off during a public event in the Oval Office on Monday (May 11). "He was blinking, you absolute moron," said White House's Rapid Response handle in reply to a Reuters article about Trump attending the maternal health event. Notably, the White House's snarky reply was made to a post that did not even mention Trump dozing off, but only included a picture of the POTUS with his eyes closed. Also read | ‘Commander-in-Sleep’: Democrats roast sleepy Trump on National Napping Day
'A verrrrrrrrryyyyy long blink'
The White House's response comes as photos and videos of Trump seemingly dozing off while hosting an event on maternal health went viral on social media.

Trump later praised the outcome of the Busan summit, saying he would rate the meeting “a 12 out of 10.” Reports suggested the discussions included tariff reductions, renewed Chinese purchases of American soybeans, expanded rare earth exports, and easing certain trade restrictions. The South Korea meeting was widely viewed as a critical attempt to stabilize ties between Washington and Beijing amid fears of a renewed global trade war and worsening geopolitical tensions.

Donald Trump's bizarre Mother's Day post is going viral for using the occasion to harp about himself. He wrote on Truth Social, "Happy Mother's Day weekend to all, especially to the 115 THOUSAND AMERICANS who found jobs in the month of April alone!" He veered way off topic by slamming media houses for their anti-Trump rhetoric. "As usual, over 90 percent of Bloomberg Economists (nearly all of whom have a 'Terminal' case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME!) underestimated the strength of the Trump Economy." The American president next attacked Chair of the Federal Reserve of the United States, Jerome Powell. "Despite the best efforts of Jerome 'Too Late and Won't Leave' Powell, and the America Hating Democrat Party, more Americans are working today than ever before." He ended the post with, "Happy Mother’s Day and, know that, we are MAKING AMERICA WEALTHY AND SAFE AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP." He even shared a bar graph with the header - "Job growth in April nearly doubles expectations under President Trump."

Trump's Mother's Day message shocks people
Netizens cannot believe that Trump made his Mother's Day wish all about himself. "This has absolutely nothing to do with mothers. He is not well!" a user wrote, with another adding, "As usual, he makes a mother's day greeting all about himself. The man is insane!" The American president next attacked Chair of the Federal Reserve of the United States, Jerome Powell. "Despite the best efforts of Jerome 'Too Late and Won't Leave' Powell, and the America Hating Democrat Party, more Americans are working today than ever before." Global perceptions of the U.S. have deteriorated for a second consecutive year and are now worse than views of Russia, an annual study on democracy published on Friday showed, as U.S. President Donald Trump's policies continue ‌to severely strain the NATO alliance.
The Denmark-based Alliance of Democracies Foundation, which commissioned the survey, said the U.S. was also most frequently named in response to which country posed the greatest threat to the world, after Russia and Israel. The survey did not go into details on the criteria used, but the Alliance says its aim is to defend and advance democratic values.

'Italy was not there...': Trump targets Meloni again, hints at withdrawing troops from Italian bases

US President Donald Trump on Saturday flooded his Truth Social account with over a dozen posts featuring AI-generated Iran war images and golf tournament snapshots. His social media account was inactive throughout the morning till early afternoon, but then at 3:51 p.m., he shared an artificial image showing drones marked with Iranian flags sinking into the sea, describing them as “dropping like butterflies.” Shortly afterwards, he posted another fabricated image showing a US warship firing laser beams into the sky, causing massive explosions, along with the caption: “Bye Bye, Drones.” Trump then turned his attention to attacking former Democratic presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama, seemingly blaming them for failing to take military action against Iran.
Post on claims of US forces sinking 159 Iranian vessels
One split-screen graphic contrasted a destroyed Iranian naval fleet labelled “Trump” with untouched ships under “Obama/Biden,” reinforcing Trump’s earlier claim that US forces had sunk 159 Iranian vessels. He later shared an AI-generated image portraying himself aboard a ship, gazing through binoculars as an approaching fleet erupted in flames. Trump’s war-based social media posts followed amid an ongoing tenuous ceasefire between the US and Iran, as both nations are enforcing duelling blockades in the Strait of Hormuz. Recent developments show the tensions remain broadly unpopular with the American public.
LIV Golf tournament
Alongside the war-themed content, Trump also shared several images from a LIV Golf tournament held Saturday at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. A few of the pictures, apparently taken from a television broadcast, showcased the vast property overlooking the Potomac River. A towering gold statue of US President Donald Trump was unveiled at his golf resort in Doral during a dramatic dedication ceremony led by Evangelical pastor Mark Burns. The 22-foot statue, placed on a pedestal amid palm trees at Trump National Doral Miami, depicts Trump raising his fist in the air, mirroring the gesture he made after surviving an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. The sculpture was revealed before a crowd of invited guests seated around the display. The statue, draped in white and blue fabric resembling a Greek toga before its unveiling, was praised by Burns as a symbol of “resilience, freedom, patriotism, strength, and the will power to keep fighting for the future of America”.

“Let me be clear: this is not a golden calf,” Burns said during the ceremony, rejecting comparisons to idol worship. He added that the monument represented “a celebration of life” and suggested it stood as proof that God was protecting Trump after multiple assassination attempts. At one point during the event, Burns held his mobile phone to the microphone so attendees could hear Trump address the gathering remotely. “I want to thank Mark Burns, a pastor, he’s a good pastor, he's a good man,” Trump said. “I’ve known him a long time; he’s been with me from the beginning.” “I want to thank everybody there,” he added. “I know it was done from love.” According to reports by The Daily Beast, the statue was funded by a group of cryptocurrency investors promoting their memecoin, $PATRIOT. Sculptor Alan Cottrill told The Times earlier this year that he had agreed to create the bronze sculpture for $300,000 and later suggested coating it in gold leaf after payment delays. Cottrill said the proposal was met with enthusiastic support from the investors. However, he also claimed he withheld the statue in a warehouse until he received the full agreed payment. The investors later disputed the claim, saying in a statement that the sculpture had been “paid in full a year ago” and praising Cottrill’s work on what they called a “historic statue”. The installation is among several recent sculptures featuring Trump that have appeared across the United States. Other controversial works displayed near the US Capitol included “Best Friends Forever”, portraying Trump alongside late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and “King of the World”, which depicted the pair recreating a famous pose from Titanic. Both artworks, commissioned by protest group Secret Handshake, were later removed.
